I'm currently preparing to take the DELE C1 exam in Spanish in May, part of which involves a speaking task where you have to have an open conversation with the examiner about a certain topic. In this video I share one of my classes with my professional tutor on italki practicing talking about Publicity and Advertising. Hope you enjoy!

Algunas palabras nuevas voy a olvidar si no toma notas. 🤓
I passed my C1 in November! Best of luck, I think you will pass :)
Congratulations! And thank you 😊🙏🏽
Dónde estás Shane? Tus videos me ayuda con mejorando mi español
*ayudan
ayudan a mejorar*
Amazing! Best wishes I can only dream of being at your level! I hope you go from 'strength to strength '!
Genial¡ Hablas muy bien. Buen prof tambien. Gracias por compartir este video. He aprendido un mogollón.
Gracias!
Me gusta mucho.
Oh wow Shane , I understood 99 % of what was said so am thrilled with that ! My problem is that I still struggle to speak anywhere near as well as you . That is my goal this year . I only chat to my Mexican pal maybe twice a month because of his busy work schedule. I am not confident enough to take formal lessons. These days my brain won’t work fast enough to form the words I want to say quickly enough.
Anyway , I am beyond impressed with your command of Spanish mate ! 👍🤝
That's awesome! I'm sure the speaking will come with time, there's no rush!
@@ShaneGodliman cheers Shane ! Have a wonderful week my friend 👍🤝
Yes!! Micro machines!!! Abollado = dented… this was such a helpful video. Thank you Shane!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Lol, I thought you were the teacher and he was the student until the video started. I am learning Spanish, too, and your Spanish sounds good.
Excelente video y saludos desde Ecuador! 😀✋🇪🇨
Muchas gracias! 😊🙌🏽
Wow, just came across your channel and your experiences have mirrored mine.. I too came to the conclusion that speaking on new topics is much more challenging than unstructured conversation on italki. I'm really curious:
- Do you have any other strong recommendations besides Cesar and Adan? Maybe I've been unlucky, but it seems like I only find a good tutor out of every ~10 that I try. So it is costly to find a good teacher.
- How much ownership do you take in these lessons? I cannot tell from these videos how much is driven by the teacher. So far, I have had to choose and push for topics myself on italki, but it sounds like maybe you have found teachers who do this more?
Buen trabajo amigo!
¡Recuerdo Micro Machines!
Very interesting video. I’m interested in how you reflect on your lessons. You don’t seem to make any notes at the time, regarding Cesar’s corrections and suggestions. Do you always record and replay each video, to examine tutor comments and also help you think about how you might have responded differently? Is your reflection process the same with your community tutors as with your professional tutor?
Thank you! He will usually type new words or corrections in a shared Google document so that I can make a note of them afterwards. I don’t review the video of every class but sometimes I like to go back and think about how I could have said something differently or better
I remember you mentioned that you almost had 1500 hours of input, do you think C1 will be easy or is it wiser to take B2 exam ?
I don’t think it will be easy, but I think I have enough time to keep preparing and improving and that I can be ready for the exam in May
hey out of curiosity, can you give me an update on how many lessons of Italki have you done in Spanish now?
I have only done 31 lessons so far. And can output, but still feel like I'm not quite where I want to be in terms of fluidity and ease. Your 200 lessons video helped me realize how much time I actually have to spend in order to get my output where I want it.
Italki has recently made it more awkward to see exactly how many classes in each language, but I know i've done 329 classes total, so I'd guess around 275 of those would be spanish (the others in Portuguese and Russian), at one point I was taking loads of lessons just because I really enjoy it, im not sure I "needed" all those lessons per se, but it definitely helped in the way of confidence and comfortability
@@ShaneGodliman Thanks imma work out a way were I can do like 3-4 lessons a week for a month or two and see how I get on.
Could you send me the names of your favourite Spanish teachers on italki please
Que tal el español Shane? Has hecho el examen C1? Cuéntanos!! Un abrazo, J
Jude Bellingham learned spanish way before he came to Real Madrid?
Did he pass ?
how did you reach this level with like correct grammar and subjunctive and all that? any tips
Lots of input! I’ve done nearly 1500 hours of Spanish immersion (listening, reading etc) and recently I’ve been reading a lot which a really credit with helping me iron out parts of my grammar and understanding of things like the subjunctive
@@ShaneGodliman ill copy you, thanks for the response
