A nice simple straightforward pickup truck. That 2.7L turbo 4 kicks out 310hp and 430lb/ft of torque, those numbers aint no joke on a lower trim Silverado model.
I was looking over a camaro, then unexpectedly decided to try out the 2023 v4 silverado, and felt in love with it. I am not thinking about houling anything, but I know it has the power to do it.
50K and you don’t have music controls on the steering wheel? No usb charging ports in the back? Power adjustments for passenger side? No bed liner? No window in the back? No wireless apple/android car play? Don’t remember if it comes with heated seats, but I don’t think it does. That’s rough after dropping that much.
My 23' has wireless apple car play. Idc about much of those charger features for the backseat. I would like music controls on the steering wheel tho. Overall, It's a badass truck.
It's unbelievable how expensive these trucks are getting. I remember back in 2019 where you could have gotten a Silverado 4 wd for 28k otd the door I mean including tax and license. Full size trucks base price was in the low 30's and they give so many rebates and incentive close to the end of the year. I went to my local dealership and best deal they can give is high 40's otd.
I opted for a 23 4x4 custom, had been wanting the new tundra in sr5 trim 4x4 but it's a nice gap in price compared to its trim level competitors...about 5k more
Had mine for a week now. I don’t enjoy the turbo whine. Luckily I’m old and my hearing isn’t great but I’ll be trying to get the dealership to find out if there is a solution.
How far into the throttle did you have to go in order to get the boost? Other video reviewers have found this motor to be sluggish unless the turbos are properly spooled up. What are your thoughts?
@@calebniederhofer6529 I borrowed my dad's to take our camper on a long trip since my ram has almost 200k on it. Camper is about 7k loaded and the turbo 4cyl pulled it very well. Plenty of power, definitely didn't feel like it was struggling by any means.
@@joeybydin439 I own a Eco boost 2.7 myself, but I would buy the GM 2.7 over the current 5.3. I don’t want to deal with the AFM and having to delete that. The problem with the 5.3 is it has to rev about 4k to make power and tow. It has always been that way. The 2.7L will make all that power at a low rpm range. I think that the 2.7L will pull better at high elevation, hills. If you don’t tow over about 6k, I see zero reason to buy the 5.3 or 6.2.

Getting mine this week, super excited
Ouch no integrated Tow Brake Controller. The 2.7L tows great i have the 1st gen and no issues towing. But came with trailer tow brake.

I find the 2.7 liter to be peppy enough, but usually between 2500-4000 RPMs is where I tend to get good boost.
That's how a turbo works... It's nothing without boost

Are any of you guys burning plus or premium in this engine, I know Manuel says reg, but I would hate putting cheap gas in a truck I love? Thoughts?
Can always run premium. Might get a bit more HP, but haven’t heard it being necessary.

The engine is calibrated for 87.% octane any more octane and your just wasting your money
Yup all GM hoods need to be slammed aka dropped by a foot. Also the rear tail gate lifts easier on the corner and ezlift works only with your knees.
