It's a choice to carry both or either.
    Having kids is ok.
Not wanting kids is also ok.
Both working women and house wives should be respected.
Everyone has there own challenges so it's not good to be judgemental.

Yes, but being a housewife is really pathetic. (No leave, no appreciation, no salary, no individual identity etc.) Nobody should become a housewife. Every woman must earn her own bread.

@@PMcseits very pathetic to think that all no matter what a housewife must earn her won bread. When a man works he comes home and take rest and when a woman works she have to manage her work and her famlily the house everything by herself. She works outside to make herself so called independent for the society and works at home for the family coz if she don't no one will. Its too much pressure for some woman who doesn't have a supportive family. So please don't call a housewife department when she can do everything by herself, call those men pathetic who are so much dependent on their wives for besic things.

Just had a question "if the lady with the child wasnt an officer didnt she deserve an applause for her efforts only as a mother and a homemaker?" Does a women need to work hard both outside and inside the house to deserve such a kind of respect while men would get all the respect just by working outside the house?

What are family members other than women in the family meant for? Just to EXPECT from THE WOMAN of the family! That's it! Thier duty and responsibilities are done? If you dont know, lemme tell you, it's one the top toughest exams in India with pass percentage less than 5. Moreover she was carrying TWINS. she came to exam centre for 8 freaking days, Hubby used to wait outside all 3 hours. After exam, Some inviglator staffs would take her back outside the campus and she leaves. I heard, she cleared The exams and became a CA, And a week before the results, she delivered to twins.

I am so infuriated at this ad. It insinuates that the lives of housewives are easy, that they can easily manage their kids without altering their lifestyles at all, which is absolutely not true. A housewife has to put in just as much effort in maintaining the house and taking care of everybody as any other woman with any other job.
It further accentuates that women should have kids just because they can have kids. These are the type of things that pressurise women into getting pregnant even when they feel like they cannot manage them. The model's concerns were legit and the pregnancy would have gotten into the way of her career, but it was just brushed off.
Also, the ad never made a point to address the fact that the sweeper's job was undermined. She is happy doing what she does and is properly taking care of her children, that enough makes her very successful in life.
Also, just because women can do both doesn't mean that they have to. It's their choice. Pregnancy and kids seriously affect a woman's life and it should not be played off as something minor that can be easily handled.

This was from a month ago, got suggested this now.
I feel like in an attempt to motivate working mothers, we glorify the struggles of motherhood and make it look like it is a cakewalk.
No, being the sole provider for a baby is not easy and any mother who left her job, who took a break in her career, who chose to stay at home with her baby is doing a LOT. A mother doesn’t have to be a successful professional to be appreciated. Every mother who loves her child and takes care of her child deserves appreciation irrespective of her professional achievements.

Finally a comment I am looking for. This is a mean strategy to overwork women - "praise them, praise them like shit" and work them like machines. On a day like Mother's Day/Women's Day, they give examples of women like in the video "Women can handle both - her career and her motherhood/other-household-responsibilities - hence she is great and she is the WOMAN". The next day, if the wife focuses on her career and asks her family to clean up after themselves, they say she has no qualities of a GOOD MOTHER/WIFE/DIL. If she stays at home after quitting her job for her family's sake, they say "SHE IS MOOCHING OFF HER HUSBAND, WHAT A WASTE OF HER EDUCATIONAL DEGREE". Either way, we should stop "GLORIFYING" overworking women and NOT make them the norm we measure other women with.

When mother takes leave for 6 months ...or so ..father have to take leave for another set of months.....Marriage is all about sharing .....Why these kinds of responsibilities are left to a women alone when both can do it together....
The concept of feminism has to be widely spread and should make the generation aware about equality .....

I was going through the same phase when I conceived my first. I was preparing for the services and didn't know how to manage both. I was completely overwhelmed at the circumstance. I took advice from my own mother and mother in law, they said I can abort if I wish to they would have absolutely no problem and would support my decision as they thought it was almost impossible to be a new mother and pursue such an ambitious position. Later I decided not to because I didn't have the guts to kill another human that was growing inside me. My husband said one thing that changed my pov i.e. " Don't measure your own potentials on the opinions of others. Others might not balance both but you might can. " That hit me. And to be very honest I am happiest to have my little baby. I have taken the best decision of my life and received god's gift. I am so so so grateful. I still am continuing my studies. Being a mother really is worth more than anything. 💗 Hope it helps anyone who is going through the same phase as mine. Don't worry sister.

    • @s.shelly
      @s.shelly 2 ปีที่แล้ว +85

@@avinashojha35 There is no 'superior' gender. If a woman does not want to have children, it's her choice and one shouldn't judge her for it, in the same way, one shouldn't judge a woman who is a stay-at home mother. I don't know what this ad wanted to convey, since the childfree woman here is clearly being shown as the villain, also through the actor who plays the 'model' here, they have tried to convey that a woman MUST have kids because she can handle both her career and the kids. This ad is a classic example of toxic positivity, spreading a message that women CAN and SHOULD handle both personal and professional responsibilities. It glorifies the growing pressure on working women. In fact, there's no shame in taking a break from your career to take care of your kids, and that won't make you less of a woman. Neither will not having kids.

@@userjeos4516 that every individual should understand themselves. Ads won't show each and every aspect. Pressure is as much as you want to take. And it needs glorification what are you saying? Carrying a baby needs glorification. If you don't want a baby just because you can't handle it. Talk to your husband. Talk to share the load. Talk to your parents and in laws to share the load. There are girls who gave birth when they were 18. A kid literally. They managed college and babies because they had supportive parents and sometimes husbands. So everyone can manage to have children if that's not financial or career restrictive. If you WANT baby, you CAN manage the work-life balance with good people arround.

Okay, but many a times this "carry both" attitude creates undue pressure on women. This "carrying both or even more" tendency often expects a woman to be perfect in almost every sphere of life. It's not good and is actually energy draining at times.

I was a stay at home mom and then went into internal medicine residency training and now working as a night doctor (works with my kid’s schedule). Both the jobs are incredibly hard. You think housewives have it easy, but it’s very very hard. The social isolation with constant baby work and sleepless nights and people dismissing your effort is brutal. At the end of the day, both jobs are hard. But regardless of what a woman chooses to do, it should be respected, not looked down and dismissed. Women as a gender are looked down as a weaker sex. What we need is women uplifting each other, not pulling us down.

if you are in govt service you may get up to 2 years of maternity leave that too paid, but in private sector like IT companies you wont get much leave also no paid leaves and constant pressure from management and risk of losing the job. so it's better to do GOV job to lead stress-free life.

Its not about stereotyping....I mean its absolutely a women's choice weather to marry or have kids or not....but you can't look down on anyone who is a housewife....which is the most toughest jobs of all....in India these days women who are working or are successful generally look down on housewives or women who make their children it families their main priority....they be like oh she is just a housewife ..how backward...apni zindagi kharab Kar li.....life me apni identity kho di....but what they don't realise is that somewhere their mothers have also sacrificed a lot for them to be where they are today.....you can be whatever you want to be its your choice but please just because you are working or earn money don't become judgmental or look down on other.

But the other more obvious, disturbing and in many ways wrong stereotype is that unmarried women who don't want a child are looked down upon! And this ad reinforces it.
