  • In this video I discuss the "normal" ranges for blood glucose (sugar), demonstrate how to take a blood sugar on a patient and address common issues that may occur during this procedure.
    Follow along and study by answering these questions.
    1. What is the normal fasting blood sugar range for a non-diabetic?
    2. What supplies do we need to perform this skill?
    3. What part of the finger do we poke?
    4. Can we use the first drop why or why not?
    5. What do we do if the patient won’t stop bleeding?
    6. What do we do if the blood sugar is too high?
    7. What do we do if the blood sugar is too low?
    8. When can we delegate this task?
