    have you tried researching into head tracking / eye tracking for cursor movement ? it might be a long reach though

      No, I'm not sure how practical that would be, maybe for disabled people?
      I have a few friends into 3d printing and I want to present them with a few designs however.

    Look at Tex Electronics keyboards (Shinobi, Yoda II, Shura etc.) They all take inspiration from the ThinkPad keyboards. They aren't split, so that might be a deal breaker for you.
