OK, I was literally losing my shit trying to figure out where the thumbnail guy was from cuz he looked so damn familiar to me... Here he is again at 44:30... Then it clicked! It's Revenant from a shutdown moba I use to play called Paragon made by Epic Games (Rip in peace Paragon, you died for fortnite dances) The worst thing for me about the model reuse is the creator of this game not bothering to do anything with the model, he's even in his default stance from Paragon. The assets for the Paragon were put up for free for anyone to use after the game's shutdown, but it's still kinda lame seeing familiar models showing up in random low tier indie horror games. It'd be like seeing Issac Clark from Dead Space in a random indie platformer, It's just odd. Now i'm just sad again about Paragon being dead, Thank you for attending my Ted Talk.
This protagonist is so damn blase about his daughter. Evil Guy: YOUR DAUGHTER IS THE VESSEL FOR THE SON OF THE DEVIL! Protag: Huh? ...what are you talking about? *Yawn* Oh. Sorry. Yeah. Have you see my daughter? *checks watch* Look, it's getting late and my Netflix library won't browse itself.
I actually think this has been put together way better than the first. It actually looks like a horror game. Still a lot of work needs done, but it's good to see the developers are trying to improve :)
I beat this game twice for fun, and later in the game, the guy we play is shoting and saying "take this" and then "take some more" with the same calm lol.
When I watch your gameplay channel, I want to sit in a big easy chair beside the fireplace, smoking a Sherlock Holmes style pipe with an apple pie baking in the oven. No lights turned on, wonderful fumes from the kitchen and listening to you. Good as it gets.
The graphics look pretty good. It's a bummer that even after you kill them off, the creatures keep returning from where they came from. The mannequin was giving you the finger.
It shows how much your subscribers enjoy your videos that we will still watch, even when you say in the title that the game is terrible 👍🏼 I’m here for the commentary, not the game.
Took a break from Death Stranding to watch this. Do yourself a huge favor and get a refund. The devs don't deserve to take money from people for a low effort buggy asset flip. Gave me a good laugh watching you play through it, your reactions/commentary are honestly the best
Anyone else notice this is the plotline to the silent hill movie (2006) down to the line. (Not to be mistaken with the game wich has a vastly different plot to the movies) P.s. the finders is a secret child sex and trafficking cult that partook in sacrificial ceremonies and rituals. The FBI recently declassified their docs on them through the freedom of information act. Surprisingly the music isnt ripped from silent hill trust me id know. Kudos to them. This game doesn't seem so bad. Admiral effort.
This game looks overwhelming, the apartments look all the same. I was falling asleep if it was for your commentary. Either way appreciate you making this video for us 💪
I didnt actually mind this one, but it might be that you made it entertaining to watch . Mind you im more of a ghost game kind of person but monsters in games are still great . Sorry me rambling , great game play. I never get bored of this channel thank you
i'm still trying to figure out where this takes place. Supposedly in PA, but a 'neighboring state' was flying the union jack outside it's stores...so UK? but then the posters were in russian or polish or something. It's like this city is connected to countries all over the world!
Velma: Let's see who's really under that mask. Everyone: (Gasp!) It's old man Jenkins! Jenkins: Yeah, and I would've gotten away with it too, if it hadn't been for you meddling kids!
Well I thought the travelling salesman from resident evil 4 had shown up to rob you at gun point lol great video as always Chris, keep up the good work 👍
The outside setting sorta reminds me of Welcome To Hanwell which was "also" inspired by Silent Hill. While it isn't the best game, it is one of my favourite indie horror games ever and I will probably pester you with it until you give it a go. It has some issues but it also had some pretty nice ideas and is way more entertaining than Centralia (Homecoming).
Centralia is an actual place in Pennsylvania. A dump fire got into the rich coal veins under the town decades ago, and it’s been burning since then. Residents were encouraged to move out, as the government bought up the properties and knocked down the buildings. Only a few structures were left last time I visited. There are places in town where steam or white smoke indicate the ongoing presence of the fire. I’ve heard that Silent Hill was modeled on the town. The Molly Maguires were a real group. Substantial literary license was taken by the game developers. The group was more like a labor group than a religious cult, though their activities may have scared the bejeebus out of the mine owners.
Is the developer still in business? They shouldn't be if they are. And were they 13 or 16yrs old at the time? Flipping you off with that model and seemingly intentionally killing you in the school with the Russian fonts informing you that you died. ...you sure these a-holes weren't the ones that hacked you several months ago?
Me: *Logs onto TH-cam. Heads towards a CJU playlist I started watching yesterday.* TH-cam: CJU uploaded a new video 7 hours ago! Me: That's cool. I'll take a look in a bi- Video: Terrible Indie Horror Game! Me: The playlist can wait. *clicks video*
I'm here after watching your Centralia gameplay, and I must say, unlike the previous one that is funny bad, this one is just boring bad. Honestly, when you mentioned that the devs were wanting your opinion on this, I thought that they're letting you play it for free. I cannot believe that you've actually paid for this. This has a lot of just walking around, collecting items from generic furnishings, and entering codes. If that wasn't enough, the repetitive sound f/x of opening doors and cabinets was becoming a grating annoyance to my ears. I understand that this is heavily inspired by Silent Hill. However, it is one thing to be inspired by such a game, but it's a different matter when you hear Silent Hill: Homecoming's OST playing in the background, and the plot was a mere mixture of SH1 & SH Homecoming. Sorry to say, but this is lazy writing. The storyline could've been handled better. If there's anything that I find positive about this game, I'll have to say it's the dark atmosphere, but that won't be enough to save this atrocity. If not for your commentary, I would've easily bailed out.
I think this game works better as a satirical imitation of the horror monoliths of Silent Hill (story) and Resident Evil (gameplay). It's too on the nose to NOT be. As an actual stand-alone game, it is pretty bad on all fronts. But as a mocking imitation, meant for the shits and giggles, it would work better. Also with a much lower price.
I was at the real Centralia in Pennsylvania. It was boring by the time I got there, but apparently it was smoking underground for years because of how the fire was. They say Silent Hill was inspired by that town. Ha
Henry Nelson - Harry Mason Centralia is the town that inspired the Silent Hill film Centralia: Homecoming = Silent Hill: Homecoming Cult in the town wanting to bring their god to our world... Silent Hill is trying so hard to copy this game 🙄
Silent Hill Homecoming. Now we have Centralia Homecoming, Pennsylvania. Okay, right . Henry!? Really? From Silent Hill 4: Room 302? But this game without critical gaze is fun. Fun. Ya, enjoy to play.
Well just from the first few seconds of starting this video I can already tell you a problem with the game and this is a problem that was in the first "Centralia". The prologue video is a mish/mash of Unreal Engine 4 Asset Showcase videos. And I highly doubt the "developer/s" contacted each Asset Creator permission to use there showcase videos for this game.
I wasn't here for the first game, but I did hear a snippet of the narration. This one does not strike me as much better. The voice actor is just okay, but the sound quality is awful. Switching gears: Did you know there IS a Centailia, and that it is a a coal-mining town in Pennsylvania, abandoned for years because of a still-smouldering underground fire? This is supposedly the real-world back-story behind the video game and movies for *Silent Hill.*
I wouldn't called it terrible. It's bad and rough and had holes, gameplay flows and coppy-paste surroundings. But still it's trying to cath up with the main plot and though it's linear it's even trying to entertain player with some minor mechanics. So well, for me it's bad but not so much as terrible.
the fact they based it on Centralia which was inspiration for the shitty silent hill movie (which fans constantly spout how it was that town that inspired the videogame) already gives me an idea of how things are going to be...
oh my goodness...the voice acting....you could HEAR the MWA HA HA in the phone call guy. deer don't really sound like that....don't you hate it when deer run THROUGH you? you do know Stifling isn't pronounced that way...what morgue keeps 12 random children's body in it to substitute? 10 pounds most definitely not...
Definitely not a bad idea to put this in the "Horrible Indie Game" category again. The Centralia games are bad but the graphics are always good..lol..that's about it.
Please play coma 1 and 2. I don't know if you've already played it but it's a korean game set in a high school. Already watch another person's walkthrough of it but curious how you will
"It's not a very good game, but it seems to be a game." That quote should be their tagline for this masterpiece.
My favorite part: "It's not a bad game..." - CJU after seeing the toilet lid physics
LMAO I was literally just about to write exactly that @washington1884

lol I thought that!
Ah yes, the infamous coal mine fires of Centralia, Wales.

I was just starting to miss these terrible indie horror games on the channel.
44:28 I can't stop laughing at how calmly he's asking questions, as if he was just reading a script or playing psychologist lol
I beat this game twice for fun, and later in the game, the guy we play is shoting and saying "take this" and then "take some more" with the same calm lol.
Anyone else playing "Spot the swiped assets!" while watching this?
Funny how they didn't even try to hide the fact that they stole assets. Like they ripped Revenant straight from Paragon and slapped him here.
"Something horrifying and very bad." The writing is just amazing.
Maybe that's why it's spoken so quietly -- the VA didn't want anyone to hear him...
8:08 - Good ol' Henry "Giraffe Neck" Nelson...
Also, these jewels look more like bars of soap.
I thought of soap aswel
When I watch your gameplay channel, I want to sit in a big easy chair beside the fireplace, smoking a Sherlock Holmes style pipe with an apple pie baking in the oven. No lights turned on, wonderful fumes from the kitchen and listening to you. Good as it gets.
I can dig that!
The first one was HEAVILY inspired by Silent Hill... and this one is called "Homecoming" Just sayin'
Homecoming is the worst Silent Hill too.
The graphics look pretty good. It's a bummer that even after you kill them off, the creatures keep returning from where they came from. The mannequin was giving you the finger.
The wages of morbid curiosity=Centralia Homecoming
@OutlawRebel117 Yeah, but I think CJU sums it up when he says 36:27 and then titles the video "Terrible Indie Horror Game." LOL
It shows how much your subscribers enjoy your videos that we will still watch, even when you say in the title that the game is terrible 👍🏼

How do you like Death Stranding?

HUEH HEH HEH HEH!
THANK YOU!
This game makes the hammy cutscenes in Silent Hill look like theatrical masterpieces.

I was not expecting a Monty Python reference.. For the game itself though I just have no words

Even after title terrible indie horror game I still hit that like button 😂🤣 I just enjoy watching and listening to you play 😊

"... It's not a _bad_ game..."
The last writing is "You are dead"
There is definitely a lot of really nice artwork in this game and it shows a lot of talent.
Too bad none of the artwork was made by the people who made the game. :D
44:01 That guy's the Revenant from paragon
"Today, on her birfday..."
Yeah... nice opening monologue there, buddy.
XD
You should not have to buy games like this. They should be free.

If this was any more like Silent Hill, I expect to see Pyramid Head utilised, incorrectly too...
“Maybe this is actually a half decent game”
*looks at title*
Guess not
The protagonist's hands look like he's wearing gloves made of human skin.
maybe he is the bad guy all along
Your reaction in the very beginning had me laughing :) Your commentary is great

The footsteps sounding like someone is constantly following you really bugged me.
the best thing about this game is the ambient soundtracks, love them.
My comment for this video will be in a file in your cupboard. The code for the cupboard will cost you some diamonds though...
Also, that demon guy/extra from Red Dead Redemption is definitely the voice from Typical Nightmare. I was just waiting for "Joohhnnnayyyy"
So is it a sequel, a remake or alternative to the first game? , At least they are trying iven if they are not succeeding
love how cju doesn't realise that those numbers are house numbers *facepalm* 😆
Hi Chris, welcome back!
The director asking for your opinion.... Proceeds to title "Terrible Indie Horror Game". That's real nice :D
The robo-cowboy looking guy is an asset ripped from paragon. Nice

oh that voice and that voice acting... lol
You appear to be wearing thick, yet strangely translucent gloves. Weird.
it's definitely got so much more than the 1st. at least a story, inventory, journal etc. hoping they can improve it to good
It still has more gameplay than Death Stranding. Lol. I feel terrible.
more gameplay doesnt mean better as we see haha
you should checkout the story of henry bishop lots of door issue and hilarious voice acting at the end .. only around 45 minutes of gameplay
