In the first episode of our first-of-its-kind TH-cam Series, we look back at his life so far - from childhood to fatherhood, from villain to hero, from cursed to celebrated - because while his name might be well known, his story is far from understood.
With Teko Modise, Robert Marawa, Doc Khumalo, Surprise Moriri, Thomas “TK” Kwenaite, Themba Zwane, Jazzman Mahlakgane and Nikolaos Kirkinis - “Dona” is the first our Sundowns Stories series where- we will be telling the tales of the people who make our club what it is today!

To me Teko is a South African football legend not many players can survive what Modise survived. The respect that I have for this man is massive

I don't see it as a curse; it was just a matter of time. Teko was just at the wrong place at the wrong time, his destiny was Sundowns. I had so much joy seeing him wearing the Sundowns jersey number 10. He's now the legend of the game. Best wishes to the General, The Navigator, Dona on his future.

I started noticing Teko at Supersport United, and I just loved how he played. I wished that Pirates could buy and they did, he continued with Greatness. The only thing he did not get is a trophy at Pirates but he played his heart out every game. I was heartbroken when he left for Sundowns but understood that he had to leave and in my heart I wished him well. God shone on him and he lifted trophies. I was jubilant for him, I was PROUD of him anD still am. He is the definition of NEVER SAY DIE OR NEVER GIVE UP. I am happy that he had a GREAT I'm pact in our football, may GOD continue to BLESS. He is ONCE AND ALWAYS A PIRATE☠... SALUTE TEKO "DONA" MODISE🙌🙌🙌

This documentary had me emotional throughout. It reminded me of all the days I used to back up Teko as a kid from the curse theories and that long dark run we had from 2008 - 2014 without a trophy at Sundowns. 🙂 still remember how special it was for us to finally win the league in 2014, and my best highlight of, it is I can proudly say I was there at Harry Gwala Stadium to witness my childhood hero break the “Curse” and also witness my team lift the trophy 🏆. In my eyes Teko Modise is the greatest South African player of all time 🐐.
I remember these moments so vividly.. As a Sundowns fan, I remember how emotional it was seeing Teko win for the first time. I was even at Loftas that night. Thank you for putting this so well, guys. What a beautiful way to tell Teko's highlights. 💯💯💯
