Auto-Bop | Transformers: Generation 1 | Season 2 | E33 | Hasbro Pulse
People are partying to music at a local dance club. They are really subtly being mind-controlled to obey Megatron's orders. Soundwave, unsurprisingly, is overseeing this project. The Decepticon-controlled humans soon start seeming weird to casual observers prompting the Autobots to get involved. It will take Tracks, Blaster, Raul, and other humans to undo this Decepticon plot. Can they take down Soundwave and find a way to break the mind control?

I like how they all knew each other. It wasn't always just "Autobot" and "Decepticreep," but they addressed each other by name. I guess fighting and trying to kill each other for millions of years created a bizarre intimacy.
It’s like in the episode “Fire On The Mountain”. It was weird how THE leader of the Decepticons, Megatron, addressed an Autobot soldier by saying “You’re celebrating too soon Brawn!” Brawn should’ve been flattered that Megatron knew him by name. Weird for me at first but over the years, I grew to love that moment.
@@39Hundred yeah coming from the same decepticon who mistook ironhide for bumblebee it must’ve meant a lot to brawn
Also so the kids know what names to ask their parents for ;)
Ever heard the expression study your opponents
Plus most transformers already knew each other before Megatron started the third war
Soundwave's hypnotic music was originally recorded for the 1981 Spider-Man cartoon, and it was mostly used for party scenes. There was even a similar episode in which Mysterio opened a nightclub and hypnotized patrons by playing the same song. Marvel Productions ended up reusing the music in some of their other shows, which is how it found its way into this episode.
Yep that is true, I had that same Spiderman episode on vhs when I was a kid.
E
Thanks; won't need a separate comment. I wanted to mention this was the only canned music they had that approaches anything resembling "club" material: this, one of Johnny Douglas' earliest pieces for Marvel, and Rob Walsh's "Cold Slither" instrumental.
I noticed that too back then.
1. Soundwave vs Blaster "All talk no shock"
2. Starwars sound effect when Starscream chases Tracks reminiscent of escaping the exploding Deathstar
3. 1980s culture, music and clothing on steroids
So much epic awesomeness crammed into one episode. Love it!
i once read that 'transformers bought a star wars soundboard', but cant find the source again to quote on. however searching for 'transformers star wars sounds' shows many ppl have noticed the same sounds across TF and SW and its pretty trippy how many they share :0
@@informalnarwhals it always surprises me how nobody notices the amount of star wars sfx that gets reused in this show
Also, fun facts: the first piece of music at the club is recycled from GI Joe, and the plot and the other piece of music are recycled from a Spider-Man episode (1981) where Mysterio was using music to control the people of New York.
Loved how Blaster dissed Soundwave, calling him a poor excuse of a sound system 😄
Yea, but Soundwave proved to be the stronger system. Blaster had to cheat
@@miconis123 Blaster cheated?
Who said there were rules to be followed.
@@muhammadayesham2622 I guess he didn’t cheat but without assistance he would had lost. All talk no shock lol
@@LuisVillalobosYT Actually no.
Most of the time Blaster has been victorious whenever he went against Soundwave.
Soundwave only won 1 battle in which he himself died or actually Soundwave lost that one as well because he died first.
So no point for a poor excuse of a sound system.
@@muhammadayesham2622 but we are talking about this episode. Not the others. In this episode the only thing that saved blaster were those speakers. There’s no ifs or buts lol.
"All Talk, No Shock" -Soundwave
< Soundwave laughing >
My favorite Deception..
Shockwave is dying
I love that line from Soundwave. You almost never hear him trash talk.
"All Talk, No Shock" -Me
I loved how completely 80s this episode was. The lingo and dress is all very much trying to capture what was the latest style. Every scene in the club was great with how everyone looked.
This was a much better battle between Blaster and Soundwave then that "The Headmasters" series from Japan. Actually fighting each other using sound as their main weapon. In the other series it was just a brawl between two rivals so they could die and be rebuilt as Soundblaster and Twincast.
they stood still and then fell over
“Billy, are you okay?!”
Anyone get mild xenophobic vibes from this guy?
@@ondururagittandeska2004how did you get xenophobia out of this?
"It's 1 in the morning. Nobody works this late."
Apparently he hasn't been in cities that long 😂
Well human ones that’s for sure.
I think IDW Publishing would benefit from a Blaster and Tracks comic series with them just doing street level stuff together, and Jazz too. Whether it be on Earth or Cybertron.
This episode should really have had jazz
Well hopefully they’ll all get more things to do with the next comic publisher
They sadly lost the rights of Transformers on January 1st...
I would love that blaster a cool autobot
Which comic? 🤔
18:37 Soundwave laughing again!😎
What would've made this ep 1000% better is if somewhere during the ep Soundwave & Blaster ended up having a freestyle battle
🤨🤔😑😆
Omg that would have been amazing! xD
Even better if they had instrument weapons like Animated Soundwave
Maybe they did
We all know Soundwave loved a bit of breakdancing and Kraftwerk!
"Time to pull a Michael Jackson...let's beat it, you know the Autobots like I know Prince...we can't outrun em." Ha...I love it, totally never heard those before.
I heard the beat it jokes to death in the 80s
This was definitely a fun episode to watch. We don't even know the full plan the Decepticons were up to, but it was an enjoyable watch anyways.
The original scriptis available online. It's been a while since I read it, but there was omitted dialogue about a secondary Decepticon HQ like Sparkplug's Garage is for the Autobots.
I always loved how Soundwave did a forward moonwalk when he laughed at 18:37
1000 extra points for a Soundwave-versus-Blaster showdown. B-)
This is how their rivalry began.
I wish i would see more of Raoul and Tracks together 😂
the two are iconic together lol
A Raoul figure should’ve come with the Kingdom Tracks figure.
@@prowlsleftfoot Super underrated duo with very similar vibes to Michael and KITT.
Also your username is hilarious.
@@TheCucuyo9779 agreed. also, thanks lmao
@@39Hundred one comes with his Masterpiece as well as a boombox mode Blaster
The clothing was spot on 80s I kid you not.We wearing those type offashion 80s was a time of individualism and experimentation. The wild and weird was praised.
Blaster vs Soundwave was awesome.
Yes
The battle of cassette player
Round 2 takes place during Headmasters
BLASTER AND SOUNDWAVE BOTH HAVE UNIQUE VOICES.
18:37 hehehehahahahaha
The classic 1980s time capsule for popculture references.
I believe that this episode contains the only time Soundwave laughed.
That and that one with the robotic space plants were the only times he laughed
Uh-huh . To hear Soundwave laughing was weird .
nope, theres quite a few that include him laughing lol
This is second time he laughed
And the last time
Correct me if I'm wrong, but i remember soundwave laughing with megatron when starscream thinks he can take on the plant bot a few episodes before.
One of the few episodes that didn't include Optimus Prime or Megatron. One of the reasons that this is one of the best episodes.
Megatron is included in this episode
I’m only halfway through but this episode is crazy (in a good way) idk what’s happening and i want to know more (what all shows should shoot for).
13:45 but he’s not physically in it
Yeah yeah I really like Spotlight episodes like this. The Gambler, Make Tracks, etc
@@shaquilleoatmeal911 He's barely in it though.
a Corvette flies better than an F-15.... I miss my childhood so much.
Well we’re talking about star scream here, he’s not exactly the brightest.
This episode must have been a pain to animate. Sure they only had a few Transformers in it but there were a ton of human crowd scenes.
I’m sure they’re accustomed to a lot of humans, since GI Joe show.
Oh I think they do far better with the human characters than they ever did with the Transformers. They'd animated hundreds of humans in plenty of other shows whereas with Transformers they keep messing up the sizes, scale, shapes and even made Blaster become fat for some reason at 3:04
Good job it was done by Toei and no AKOM
I like how few Transformers it has - seems to result in a better story.
@@MrSniperfox29 To be fair with AKOM, the first Tracks/Raul episode was one of their better ones.
17:45 Shockwave: "All talk, No shock"
Best line ever!
Edit: Sorry it was mistake. It was said by "Soundwave", rather. Thanks!
That's soundwave, but i can see why you mistook him
@@chieckenman4432 Ah, my bad.
"Some people got the juice and some don't. And we got the juice." Best line ever to end this episode.
I actually cringed in '85 when I heard it 😆
15:29 17:30 18:32 Best Boombox Rivalry Ever.
.
Gotta love 80s cartoons for being 50% Anime.
Decepticon nightclub. This episode is so cyberpunk.
😂😂😂😂 Gnarly indeed.
I've always likes Trax as a character and concept. These episodes fit him perfectly.
He’s one of my favorite autobots along with Prime & Wheel Jack
Another one of the best episodes! Great to see Blaster and Soundwave having a sound-off against each other, not to mention seeing Raul pairing up with Tracks again! Way to relive the 80s style!
Don't mind us, just *two towering sentient alien robots that can transform into cars bristling with weaponry* walking into the club.
Might be acceptable in today's era 😂
Ah Raoul and Tracks. The best couple in the franchise.
This episode should have included Jazz along with Sound blaster!
Jazz was largely being phased out in favour of slightly newer toys and Soundblaster wasn't a thing yet
his name is blaster
not soundblaster
tbh blaster and jazz wouldve made an awesome duo, given that jazz started doing a lil dancey dance that one episode where blaster was streaming the concert through teletraan 1 lol
Jazz also had the killer system
That's exactly what I said. Jazz definitely should've been in this episode.
One of my favorite episodes as a kid and I still love it. I love to watch these old TF cartoons while looking at my vintage G1 TF figures :)
Tracks is one of the G1 toys I kinda regret not buying back in the day.
I had Tracks. He was awesome!
LOL, The Rich Douchebag Transformer
Get the new one from War for Cybertron series. I just got one from Walmart.
@@stevensmith4213 was he a triple changer? Or just car to robot?
@@LuisVillalobosYT he only transformed to a car but it had wings.
"I gotta get me once of those suits." Nice way of getting Casey Kasem some work in that episode.
Isn’t it crazy that Fred Jones and Shaggy reunited in transformers? lol
He was there to record for Teletraan, so why not?
Casey Kasem was tellacon as well.
So many Star Wars sfx 😆
I didn’t know Starscream had Tie fighter engines.
Marvel Comics was one of the producers for the G1 Transformers cartoon. Marvel also had the comic book rights to both Transformers AND Star Wars at the time. I guess that’s how they were able to get Star Wars sound fx. 👍🏽
Nothing is more chilling than Soundwave laughing.
It's 2021 , and I am watching this !! That's my childhood!! ✌😭
It ' s okay ! 🤗 Me too . And my childhood too ✌️
It's 2022 and the Transformers are still cool .
The song in the nightclub was also used in the GI Joe episode Cold Slither, which involved a Cobra scheme in which a heavy metal band (actually Zartan and the Dreadnaughts) were hypnotizing people with their music.
Funny thing is their in the same universe
14:56 well, naughty animation, perfect for that dancer. I don't know why.
I thought it was Morrigan from marvel lol
@@LuisVillalobosYT Seemingly flexing each other i see.
19:43 Like the Millennium Falcon flying through the 2nd Death Star in Return Of The Jedi.
1:35 one if my favorite quotes in the entire show
funniest thing is that i was listening to beat it while watching this
"All talk, no shock."
To this day my all time favorite episode. Thx Hasbro for uploading it in its entirety.
LOL .
I love all of G1 especially seasons 1 and 2 (3 is kinda iffy) and I think this is probably one of the, if not THE, best episodes ever.
3 definitely went ham with adding in new characters that it became difficult trying to keep track of everyone
@@zippolighter4903 Never bothered me. Even as a very young kid I realized it was just a writer making a 22 minute toy show. I still loved it though.
The reasons I wasn't crazy about season 3 was because the quality of the animation really seemed to take a dive and we didn't have Prime or Megatron anymore. Cyclonus was fantastic though.
@@MDestron2282 It was mostly the animation and loads and loads of new characters for me; the last few episodes being the worst offenders
@@MDestron2282 As if the animation in season 1 and 2 was any good though? Look at 3:04 and see Blaster gain weight. :O
Wow when Tracks says your crazy like a fox ,he mentioned another popular show!
2:13 those facial expressions are great 😂
Man, a Michael Jackson and Prince reference in one episode? Too much 80s at once, lo(and I saw this episode when it aired). And did Tracks actually say "what the deuce?" This episode is so memeable😁😁😁👍👍👍.
Missed opportunity when they said "this train's outta control" could have said "I'm going off the rails on a crazy train"
Since then Soundwave and blaster became bitter rival they both thrash each other up in headmasters just to be rebuilt as Soundblaster and twincast.
17:41 "I've been waiting a long time for this." Since when? You were only introduced like a few episodes earlier.
In the production order this episode actually came very late in the season, and it's the first time the two tape decks fought each other. I know, you'd think it's so obvious they'd do it more often, but they hadn't.
Maybe they hated each other back on Cybertron.
I like when sound waves laughs. I think I’ve heard it twice lol
i always loved this seeing as the 2 radio transformers went at it
This episode is an absolute banger ever time I watch it
don't forget Make Tracks as well
Id rather see a dance-off or a rap-off between Blaster and Soundwave....
The ceiling in this night club is insane
I'm weirded out that the bot who goes around as a flying Corvette Stingray with a flame pattern on the hood is so milquetoast and straight laced
17:39 Blaster: Ha, I've been waiting for a long time for this. You Poor excuse of a sound System.
Soundwave: All Talk No Shock.
Sound wave and Blaster both having a sound battle is one of the best moments of this episode
If only KITT could transform.
@@metal_fusion going to add the mystery machine and bat mobile to the list.
This is soo 80's ahh memories 🔥
I just realized if Starscream was at the booth where the music stand was, he's one hell of a DJ running the club like that.
I love G1
This show really understood how to blend human and transformers' contact in an episode.
Highlights for me:
1. "All talk .... No shock" - One of the most badass Soundwave quotes
2. Loads of jive talk and referencing Michael Jackson and Prince
3. Those goofy trombone solos in that jazz track! hahah so funny
4. Train goes past a love hotel
5. Cute anime girls on the dance floor with cute fashion
6. Love the track they dance to, the first upbeat guitar one.
7. "Besides if you ain't decked out in the latest fashions, they won't even let you in" *lifts up shirt to reveal an outfit that belongs on Jem XD
1:07 Look it's Zeed from the anime Fist of the North Star.
I love this episode in every second. So awesome.
The 2 Raoul & Trax are great episodes
All talk, no shock.
Glad hasbro released this video
Boy I’m glad Jazz wasn’t in this episode. He would’ve had a great time at that dance club
Blaster and jazz dancing not doing any work lol
*Blaster use earrape tool*
Soundwave : I can't believe you've done this **Flies away**
‘Time pull a Michael Jackson, let’s beat it!’ Caught me so off guard 😭
" Some people got the juice and some don't...and we got the juice!"
1:34 BEST FUCKING LINE EVER
"How ‘bout it, shiny one?"
"N O T H A N K S"
Soundwaves laugh is so good here
This is the first time I ever seen Soundwave use an ultrasound machine as a weapon .
Casey Kasem Rip voice was iconic as Teletraan 1 Cliff Jumper BlueStreak and more. I have mostly all the original transformers Gen 1 toys most of them still with boxes.
"Did you notice that there was a business man in that cre?"..Well, yeah, but tbf I thought it was an animation error.
Seeing this episode on TH-cam as a kid was my first experience with there being more G1 cartoon beyond the S1 box set and Movie DVDs I had. Just picked up the new Kingdom Tracks today, so I figured I’d have a trip down memory lane!
18:37-18:39 That laugh could mean two things;
1) Soundwave is really Dr. Claw in disguise or 2) Soundwave is the true form of Dr. Claw; leader of M.A.D. and Inspector Gadget's ultimate foe.
19:19-19:20
Soundwave: I''ll get you next time,Blaster! NEXT TIME!!
Soundwave without the harmonic synthesizers added to his voice is Doctor Claw. Check out Webworld.
*Great one off episode and I did have Tracks as a kid way back!!! Till some dirty kid stole it!* ⭐️

Ha, Road Warrior rejects, I like it.
More the Zeed gang from the anime Fist of the North Star.

1:48 the guy says he wishes his Boombox was Blaster then moments later when Blaster comes to their rescue the guy pretends like he didn't need Blaster or Tracks. 😄. Not fooling anyone after hiding in the garbage like that.
16:25 we didn’t need that
From Michael Jackson to Prince, then TMNT's Rocksteady, all the way to the future with Stewie Griffin's favorite swear phrase and Chum Fricassee a la Squidward?!?!?!
So many Futurama-ish pop culture referrences- I like it!!!
I think the Rocksteady would count as a 'future reference' since this was 1985 and the TMNT toon hadn't happened yet. :P
@@carn9507 yeah, exactly! Bebop and Rocksteady were creations of the 1987 Murakami-Wolf-Swenson T.M.N.T. animated series, as opposed to the 1984 Mirage Comics.

I love Soundwave and Starscream working as DJs in the video lounge. There’s a shot where they look just like Daft Punk in Tron Legacy 😂
Tracks & Raoul are the best couple in Transformers G1 history. Screw Spike & Carly!
