Way cool…I’m gonna go hike it one day,,,as a kid in the 70s you could drive back up Big Cienega canyon and camp out,,my older brothers would take me there…a few years ago I hiked back to the camp grounds there,,,brought back some great memories

Great video! People said this mine was never going to be found or visited again. Nice!

Remember...if you explore old mines use the “Leave No Trace” principal!

Hey david, great video it was an awesome resource for I am planning on making an attempt soon. But I see on all the maps that red rock mtn looks to be north of the point above the saddle/pianobox?

Hi James, glad you enjoyed the video! The actual summit for Redrock Mountain is, indeed, north of the saddle. You do not need to reach the actual summit to get to the mine. If you pause the video at :15 you can see the route I took and that Redrock Mountain summit is north of where I went. There is a false summit where the register is located as is depicted in the video, and a benchmark, but it is not the actual summit. The actual summit is located where the letters, "Redrock Mountain" exist on the map at :15. I realize that's a bit confusing, trying to be as clear as I can. Hope that helps!
