In Scotland we do actually sell deep fried pizza in chip shops although they usually have batter on them first. It's called "pizza crunch". It's tasty but also should probably be a crime.
If you try one, just remember that the malt vinegar can be vital. It's made from cheap frozen pizza, so it's like 95% crust and batter - not enough sauce or cheese to give it flavour.
