Many thanks to all and especially Mrs. Sreenidhi Tirumala and her pakkavadya artistes for an amazing concert. We were disappointed that the concert started 45 minutes late, but as they say great things come to those who wait. The concert was wonderful with great choice of krithis. Starting with Bangala, followed by Charukesi, Varamu (aka Sudda Hindolam), Kalyani, Kapi and the masterpiece Janaki Pathe in Karaharapriya. She also sang the ever popular ragamalika Kurai Ondrum Illai and an amazing Barathiyar Krithi Unami Arinthavar (ragam escapes me). She involved the audience in counting the number of ragas in the ragamalika Rahthil Sirantha Ragam edu Kalyaniya, Kambodhiya (answer being 30). Great concert and her students also participated with her. Thanks again, to all.
How come while every one on stage was honored, the Tambura artist was visibly ignored? Shame on the organizers. However, the young lady took it all in good strides and kept smiling. In fact, she should have been honored next to the lead artist.

sorry for this misstep. We will be more conscious in honoring all the artists next time.
