How can this be called an Impeachment Trial... when there wasn't one... If a man commits a murder... are we now going to assume there will be no trial, because one man thinks there shouldn't be a trial? Does this also mean... If a man never faces his accusers and to be given the right to defend himself that he continues to stay innocent? If that is the case... then what is the point of having a Judicial System... or for that matter... why have a Senate? I guess Caesar had his problems too... eh? Do you mean no-one's 'above' the law? If so, you're right, no-one's above the law. But they haven't presented a high crime or misdemeanor therefore there's nothing to impeach him for. You can't impeach over a policy difference. Don't forget the GOP voted down Republican Rep Langford's border bill which Biden was ready to sign and would have been in effect right now if not for the GOP voting no. It would have addressed so many issues, but because the GOP don't want to solve the border problem and don't want Biden to have credit for that, they vetoed it. Not the Dem's fault. The Republicans refused to give Mayorkas the resources to make the difference and are now blaming him? Make it make sense. They hope their base is gullible enough to buy it.

There are rules of impeachment. The alleged offense must be deemed in the rules as an 'impeachable offence'. If the 'offense' is not impeachable . . . then this is what happens.

They did what was constitutionally required. The Supreme Court ruled in 1993 in the case Nixon v United States that once the senate is sworn in as a court of impeachment they can do it however they want.
