    15 years ago I work same as you are from 1" - big bore and schedule of spool woks, but the only difference are the absence of spirit level and pipe jack because i were i in the ship and sometimes it's roll and pitching and it's nice to work alone but the safety is always there, nice vid bro....

    It is so refreshing to see some MIG/MAG pipe welding. I like the fact that you have the exaust vent and the hood with PAPR at the same time. I used to do kind of simmilar welds, but I welded flanges and sockets to water heaters at my old job. After that they got tested at 4 BAR which I don't think is a lot but they still didnt leak. Didnt have a fancy hood or exaust vent. I had a 3m half face respirator and an air fan blowing the fumes away. Had to adjust it just right so it doesnt blow away the shielding gas. I have the videos on my channel if you want to checkout how simmilar it is.

      Also were you running pulse when welding the socket? Can you make a video on how to run pulse. I had a PF 46 lincoln electric such an amazing machine but had trouble running pulse. And it seems there are no good videos on youtube. Thanks

    Another great fabrication video, I remember you saying in one video these are for water, Do they get a hydrostatic test when you finished. Here in Australia when I used to weld this sort of pipework they would do a hydrostatic pressure test on them when you had finished.

    How long did it take you for this operation? Are your welds being filmed, what are you making those pipes for, for gas, plumbing or for oil?

  • @robertjohns7786
    @robertjohns7786 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I noticed that you don't clean the gas nozzle as often as you should, when running that much heat input. Your gas coverage is affected by just that much blockage! If you have anything to protect the tip it will help!

  • @mtnblue1501

    Awesome video man.
    Why is it a bad habit to check the level on top of the socket when tacking the socket to the pipe?

    • @superlativesoul
      @superlativesoul 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If the top face of the socket is not square to the bore ,then whatever attaches to it will not be perpendicular, best to screw in some studding or bar who's outside diameter matches the internal diameter of the bore and level off that .
