This is how I built my mini septic system for my Rv/Motorhome. The cost was right around $375.00 for all the parts pieces, barrels and excavator. You can do this yourself and save a bundle
Three questions: You didn't have to add a vent pipe for air (I'm thinking the average septic system doesn't use that anyway)? What did you use to seal the PVC to the metal barrel? How often is that RV used, as that would determine how big a septic system? Thx! Ron from Nashville.
Great video.. I am contemplating doing something similar on my property. given the size of the barrels, how long to you think you can dump into them until you have to have them professionally emptied? Also, did you require a permit to do this?
Great job sir. On my end, the guy helping me out went to an RV store and purchased a coupler to go from RV to PVC so now I have PVC all the way to septic. The only draw back is if I disconnect to travel It takes a bit to reposition the RV when returning, as there is little flex in PVC. Great vid!
Well the first barrel holds the solids, solids fall to the bottom, the second barrel contains a watery mix when that barrel fills then it exits to the field line. With a signal barrel your field line will clog with solids. It’s gross but that’s the process
What to do if ground is all caliche. County says law passed 20 years ago is mandatory, we have a house septic for 6 people county says can't patch into it. Help.
So the system I installed has been working great. No trouble. I did put a package of septic formula that charges the tanks with bacteria that breaks down the solids
The barrels held paint in them a one time, The inside had some kind of coating plus the outside also had been painted as well. At some point they will rust out but not in my life time perhaps two. Good question, the answer is I have no idea.
So you think that because someone is your friend they become obligated to spend their money to use their truck and trailer,to move their machine to your house, to dig YOU a cesspool for free. To be your friend someone must be willing to use his equipment, fuel, time, wear and tear on that equipment, transport that equipment to and from your house and not expect you to atleast pay for the fuel. A true friend wouldnt expect someone to do all that just so they can be your friend.
@@R_Arizona Greedy because I would expect the person to cover the expenses of using my equipment ? To be greedy I would have to be benefiting from this somehow. How would expecting the person to cover the expenses of using my equipment to do his work GREEDY? How am I gaining anything? Lets see, I would be out my time and wear and tear on my equipment. You my friend sound like a leach.
@@whelmo14 I grew up where you help your friends and they help you in return. On something like that using a machine I'd pay for gas. Different generation obviously since you are most likely younger and part of the "Me" generation. You want to get paid.
As far as the vinyl floors go, I could not be happier on how they turned out and stood up to travel. I took the coach up to Ohio to play a concert with Barren Cross. The floors did great and held up very well. It was a 6 hour journey each way and some of the roads were horrible. The floors stayed put.

Thank you for the video
You're welcome

I am not sure about the emptying. I would imagine it would be every two years
This guy is asking if you got a permit.😆😆😆. Sure bud he got a permit alright….
@@freeandcriticalthinker4431Right? If you have to ask, you probably shouldn't be doing this project. 😂😂😂

Ya they make flex dump hoses for Rvs. They make the hoses in several lengths.
Great video, doing this for an outhouse I’m plumbing. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Any updates on how this is performing? I remember my father building something similar. I "liked"
It’s working great no issues to date
Quick question: Why the two barrels instead of using just the one connecting to the peanut pipe?
Well the first barrel holds the solids, solids fall to the bottom, the second barrel contains a watery mix when that barrel fills then it exits to the field line. With a signal barrel your field line will clog with solids. It’s gross but that’s the process
Great doing this for 2 rvs in our family for summer camping
Had a question, how did you get the T inside the tank? thanks pal
So I was able to access the barrel from the top and through the hole in the side. Was able to work it in from the top
How much was the peanut pipe at that time?
$75 for a 10ft section
What to do if ground is all caliche. County says law passed 20 years ago is mandatory, we have a house septic for 6 people county says can't patch into it. Help.
How would they know???
What size is your top connection and the side pipes?
So the Riser on the top is 4 inch
The pvc pipe that connects and tanks and the tail section is 3 inch. Hoped that helped
@@thisoldcoacheverythingrv2625 thank you

How long before drums rust out?

Wondering why you didn't put ""T" baffles in the system, at least on the outlets sides inside the 55 gal drums?
I put a baffle in the outlet of the first tank not the second.
System so far is working perfectly.
Can you give us an update soon on how this project is holding up?
