    This is one of those rides that you don't go to the park because it's there, but you'll definitely ride it when you are, if that makes sense.

    • @brianfoss571

      Exactly. It's a good filler thrill coaster. Like the Superman: Ultimate Flight clones, only this'll have better capacity and should be way more comfortable if trains get stacked

      A.K.A. Crowd Control attraction.
      It's just okay, but has superb capacity to entice people enough. I won't be surprised if it would be a "people pleaser", apart from insane height requirement ofc

    I'm mostly interested to see how the "bouncing" seats impact airtime. Will it make it better by giving more of a feeling of lifting off, or will it make it worse by being a bit painful when the seats bounce up and down?

    • @Mixxloopis
      @Mixxloopis ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There's actually a rather smooth dueling stand-up coaster in Japan called Milky way at Greenland (He made a review of the park but not the coaster weirdly) and there's one airtime hill that literally makes you "bounce" (cause the seat also springs) and ur feet literally goes up in the air. It truly makes it so fun and terrifying cause it floating. I rode it before and it's definitely a 11/10. Oh and it didn't hurt either so I'm pretty interested in this addition!

    I think most people overlook something really important in this new train design. Yes on one hand the up and down movement will mimik the movement of a surfer on a board, but what it will also do is increase the leg angle the more Gs you pull, which in turn means more of your weight will be supported by your butt instead of your feet and crotch. In High G moments, this coaster will feel more like a sitdown coaster than a standup. I think this will make it work compared to the old train design. But again, we´ll have to wait and see.

      I'd compare this ride to Air/Galactica at Alton Towers, it's a test of the new model. This also applies a lot to Oblivion and Raptor (Gardaland) as well.
      The only real outliers are the prototype models for the floorless, Inverted Hyper, however with the later two that's mostly because they're basic sit-down models at their core, so they could go crazy.
      Batman the Ride on the other hand was a risk that could have EASILY backfired on them.

    The moving seats really could be a game-changer, especially if they put them on sit-down models. Just imagine airtime moments enhanced by the seats pushing you up in addition to the negative Gs.

  • @zygoat2369
    @zygoat2369 ปีที่แล้ว +16

    I'm kind of glad the layout isn't too intense, because standup coasters tend to really hurt your legs with strong forces. The bouncing seats will probably alleviate some of that as well. It's best for B&M to play it safe for their first one in case it's not a pleasant experience, because that would be much worse with high Gs

      The only SeaWorld park with a good coaster collection is SeaWorld Orlando.
      San Antonio has Steel Eel, which has strong ejector-airtime but isn't super comfortable, and Great White, a Batman: The Ride clone.
      And the best ride at San Diego is Emperor, an B&M Dive coaster.
      Both parks would benefit from 200 ft tall B&M Hypers.
      There are no other similar coasters in the area, and they would really put these parks on the map.

    The shocks in the seats are totally going to be a revolution. Taking the forces off your legs in high-g moments which is one of worst parts of standups (worst being your naughty bits getting crushed.) Hell, could add extra negative gees to an airtime hill too. 1:10 Going to be fantastic to be able to walk around the lake now. Really needs a flat somewhere in that plaza though. An S&S swing over the water or launch tower in middle of one of helixes. I really don't think it's going to be a popular coaster though. Bad move in my opinion. Cool concept.

    I have been saying for awhile now I feel it's time for a stand-up coaster renaissance. A focus on airtime and hangtime could be amazing on a stand-up, while the old adage of positive gs just hurt everyone's legs. The other thing is the seating, if you remove/fix the bicycle seat it could possibly be comfortable AND fun.

    If Thunderbird didn't exist, SeaWorld would have ordered the first launched wing coaster. But Holiday World beat everyone to the punch, so they had to come up with another "first." Despite the higher height requirement, I think Pipeline will help a lot of coaster rookies get comfortable with going upside down. It's the "Icebreaker" for inversions, if that makes sense. And SeaWorld wouldn't have added a coaster with such a basic layout if they didn't already have 4 or 5 thrill coasters. Pipeline straddles (pun intended) the middle ground between Hagrid's and Velocicoaster, and since it's right in the front of the park, I don't think standing will be a huge issue for the GP. Most riders will get in line first thing in their day. As for a true family coaster, I'd love to see a Gravitykraft in the Antarctica section themed to Shackleton's Endurance voyage. Hope that's the next priority for the park after focusing on the Arctic and former Shamu area.

    Best case, this will do for stand up coasters what FLY did for flying coasters: make the concept not suck and be a brilliant showcase for the new gimmick. But I'm skeptical it's going to do that. My feeling is that it will just be alright. I think it's gonna be their Cheetah Hunt. Just a weird mishmash of a coaster that never commits to being fully one thing or fully another, and that looks more extreme than it is. CH does manage to be popular somehow, so maybe this will work for the park. Maybe it'll even catch on. Between this and the upcoming Merlin projects, B&M seem to be going smaller and smaller these days.

    Why is everyone making videos about this now? They released basically the same video in June. This is the same video except they included the name and that it will open in the spring. This isn’t a big deal. It’s not new information.

    I like the concept of this, but I too agree that the trains look a little weird and the hydraulics for the seats kinda scare me. If Hershey is planning on opening the new Wildcat next year, this might get overlooked by a lot of enthusiasts. Hopefully I get down to Orlando sooner than later to experience all the new coasters.

    The hangtime on the inversion could be surprising especially with the new seats as well as some of the low to the ground elements, but if those don't carry the ride will probably be mid.

    I think it would be so cool when the Position would be sidewards and the coaster Kind if mild with bunny hops and a lot of curves. Than you would truly feel like surfing

  • @Red_Ryan_Red

    Orignally I thought a "surf coaster" would have you rotating side side to side like a half pipe manouver. What if on this design your feet come flying up off the floor during certain elements? I'm excited to see what happens with this one.
