I am playing lead guitar on this - I did the Eye of The Hunter tour in 1999, my friend Liam Bradley on drums too. I can tell you that every night we played it I would get shivers up my spine. An absolutely incredible track... it was re-invented as "This Boy" but to me this is the track I fell in love with.
That's more than awesome! From what sessions exactly is this recording? I never figured out.. The quality is crystal clear. Would love to hear the whole show.
This "demo version" is much better in my opinion. I heard it much later than "This boy", and now I partly understand those who scold me for radical reworking of old poems. There is an idiom in the Russian language: "Throw out the water with the baby." It's about bringing things to a soulless shine.
@@NikopolXP It was from our live Eye of The Hunter tour in 1999. The whole Paris show was recorded, I believe. There is a lot of good stuff on that recording but I only have some of it myself. I think this might be it: th-cam.com/video/i2PlSdkEdng/w-d-xo.html
I just wrote this somewhere else. I love Lisa but his songs always drew me to him over her songs. He's phenomenal. Later DCD he sort of peters out, just bc they become DCD-light, music for elevators, and light dining.
I know Im asking the wrong place but does anyone know a way to get back into an instagram account? I stupidly lost the account password. I would love any tricks you can give me!
@Kieran Tripp Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and im in the hacking process atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
Yes!! Finally found this! First time I heard this was a Napster download. That version was live. And you could hear people talking. And at the time I’m thinking how can people be having conversations while this man sings his soul out for you!! Idk. As annoying as the voices were it was a candid version. That I imagined how cool it could be to go into a pub and Brendan Perry is there singing. ❤️🤘🏽
...it´s so good to know there´s people working to bring such good music into this world. Brendan it´s very likely one of the few western "pop" musicians who´s heading towards something "higher"...that is: bringing back music where long ago was: to be sacred again. Thanks so much, Instrofreak
f there was ever a voice to take you to the deepest emotional depths of the human soul this is it. Brandon delivers emotional reality with heavy spiritual touch. All of us who have been exposed to his talent can rest assured that we have witness a truly gifted soul with an incredible instrument. Wether you believe in higher powers or not you cannot deny this is something out of this world. Shame we have to wait so long to be taken on his emotional journeys.
Awesome!!!!!! Words that sound familiar to me. Since I was !7 I told the one who introduced me into Dead Can Dance. "Don´t you think they kind of sound like The Doors", later I found they have all their influece. They´re excellent.
(As the world wont make him pay dearly feeling, When it moved, Man feels the immensity in the deepest).
actually it´s one of many different perfomences which is called today : this boy on his latest album arc ! lovely upload *thx and don´t ever compare artists like him to other artists , this will never fit !!!
So this is basically the beta version for what would later become "This boy" in the album Ark. Just like what happened with many other songs in that album (Babylon and Crescent to name the first two that come to mind). It's wonderful to realize how actually old the "roots" of some of those songs are, gives you a different perspective I guess.
Lisa Gerard, Brendan Perry, DEAD CAN DANCE...
(We are the jesters of the time, the horror! They vanish day, robbing us. We live in the disgust of life, In the fear of death. In all the days of bloody farce (Encumbrances of life on the heart in conflict That stops in anxiety, In pain he beats vehement, While the joy ends in agony and delirious) In all past and future days You can count how few (less than a few) Let those in which the soul longs for death, Yet he portrays as before a winter river! It would freeze a moment! Pure power of my knowledge gives me half: To evoke the dead and ask them, what is it then that we fear? The more serious answer could be: the tomb!)
I must plead ignorance, and I am ashamed of this, but I have never heard this painfully beautiful song before. I am a devoted fan of both B.P. and L. G., so if anyone can be so forgiving and tell me about it and where I may procure it. does B.P. have a new album out?
@gardenofarcane You're mental. Nothing wrong with being bald. Humans as a whole aren't as vainly shallow as media tries to make us. Artists simply start to drift apart when careers and inspiration changes with maturity.
I'm only just hearing this and musically it's the same as 'This boy' form his ark album, just has different lyrics. I would take a wild guess and say this was a demo.
peacefullwarrioress The 'album version' of this song is "This boy", which was released in Ark. You should be able to find it, although it has a somewhat different vibe.
Another powerful and amazing track from Brendan. Genius without the fanfare...but beautifully done.

I love Lisa but I can listen to Brendan all day! One of the best in the business..
Michael Guerra isn't he though?!
I just wrote this somewhere else. I love Lisa but his songs always drew me to him over her songs. He's phenomenal. Later DCD he sort of peters out, just bc they become DCD-light, music for elevators, and light dining.

Seeing every day the nearer end, a thousand times I asked God for that wings with which our intellect rises to heaven from mortal prison.

This song is just amazing. AMAZING.
Wow, i've been such a huge Brendan Perry fan for so long, i can't believe i didn't know this song
I am a new admirer of his style of music and lyrics...this is an awesomely moving song.
Ask humbly for the lock to be untied.
Devoted I threw myself at the holy feet
I asked for mercy and for him to open it for me.
Awesome!!!!!! Words that sound familiar to me. Since I was !7 I told the one who introduced me into Dead Can Dance. "Don´t you think they kind of sound like The Doors", later I found they have all their influece. They´re excellent.

Do you know where this song comes from?
no, it's from Brendans Eye of the Hunter Tour 1999
Great!!!
May life be short, otherwise the shame will last too long.

For her, life refuses).

Goooooooooooood. (Reminiscent of Robin Trower).

It's the only one song from that new album I can to listen to-sorry Brendan I'm going to my car to listen to Eye Of The Hunter & DCD :(:(:(
NikopolXP, Please let me know where i can download this deep and wonderful song! I love this !
Hello, could you comment on where that track was edited, any special edition in which album it appears, thanks, greetings
lies is all you've been told

Father Zeus,
Which rudder turns to come to the port?
What will be the end of the torments?
He won't stagnate longer on the ground.
Can someone please give more info about this song? When and how it was released, free download perhaps?
I'm only just hearing this and musically it's the same as 'This boy' form his ark album, just has different lyrics. I would take a wild guess and say this was a demo.
This song is called "Lies."
This boy"
Does Anyone have this in a good quality? Pls share.
Hi!
I have some versions of this song and that one in its best quality. I'll share soon, just check my channel.
lyrics have been added
Is this from his upcoming album?
Can you feel it ?
Nikopol... Nikopol... oh, i know, Immortal, it is not? :-)
Where can I buy this song? It's not available on Itunes.
peacefullwarrioress The 'album version' of this song is "This boy", which was released in Ark. You should be able to find it, although it has a somewhat different vibe.
ok, thank you :)

Mi piace essere trasportato.....
@CliffField How ? I'm not being rude sorry I don't know much about Brendan but I am fan of Jim Morrison. He sounds more like Gary Moore to me.
And like the man who trotting is loose.
actions
Lies ----
so thats were dead can dance's brendan has been hiding !!
Brendan could write a song where he sings over a cacophony of his own sampled farts and it would be amazing...

Failed to believe that.
