I would have the air tank pressure tested before I pressurized it. Also, this is the first time in a long time I have seen Lin paint without her protective mask. Good job on this rebuild and repair.

Lin--please do not carry such heavy loads! You are still a young woman and may yet want more children--so do not endanger yourself! Also wish you wore rubber gloves when cleaning parts with solvents. As usual--you did a great job!
Lin in the sandblast room use a sandblast cabinet or place boards to lift the floor about 4 inches high and place perforated or expanding metal on top so sand can go beneath the floor and not bounce up. Optionally place plywood with holes on top for the floor. Even 3 inch apart cross beams as a floor would do over the work area. I used blast cabinets at work but they are too expensive to own u less I build them myself. Use Plexiglas see through panel and caulk it on. On the canine make it 3 feet high x 4 feet wide x 3 feet deep. Place a turntable in it to spin the item around The front of the panel lifts up to place the part inside. The bottom has a sealed drawer to take out the dust. That's how I would build it. Even a car engine will fit in it. With the tank I would use a homemade skinnier to turn it vertically.

THAT would be a fun job. I would use 80 grit sandpaper to sand the tank. I would then use 240 grit sandpaper to smooth the metal. For optimal results, I would go down to 24oo grit or less to fine sand it. Sandblasting is good too then fine sand it.
