He has such a genuine, honest, and easy to understand way of explaining poker strategy. Excellent content!

Jonathan - you have incredible patience with some of those questions. Also, if a lot of people asking those questions are playing poker, why aren't I making more money! Anyway, been watching your content for a few weeks now and I'm sold - well you've sold a book that is. Just deciding which one now. Keep up the good work.

Regarding re-entry ... I never understood re-entry when playing online. I'm at home so I can just load up a new tournament and start from the beginning rather than starting with a short stack

    Okay story time
    deep enough ITM
Holding QQ (don't remember position )
    Raise / called by one
    Board 98Q
Me: happy to slow play not show the true strength of my hand
    Turn K call small bet
    River 9
    Villain all-in
I call because well i beat so many hands that do that I truly expect to win
(I expect to lose going all-in preflop with aces when villain shows Q9o )
    Villain shows KK
It was a bit like being sent to the shadow realm yugioh
Well maybe not that much but i was actually a little sad to lose that hand
But that is what you get when you look at you stack and the pot and your odds
and you ignore Kenny Rogers advice and you count your money when it's on the table
The lesson is when you are 90% to win you are 10% to lose
Momento Mori as a roman general
anyway that was the last time I felt entitled to a hand in play
and therefor felt unhappy with the results

In the clearing sits a boxer
And a fighter by his trade
      And he carries the reminders
Of every glove that laid him down
      And cut him........Paul Simon
      But that's ok.. Tommy Angelo

I live in Prague and play on PokerStars. We cannot enter an MTT until 50%+ of the guarantee has been met. So, I usually enter with about 50bb, sometimes more sometimes less, while the average is higher. Any suggestions/pointers for someone that misses out on the deep stack stage?

@@hyphenizm already a member. I don't think there is a class or course for players that have to not by choice enter the MTT 30-90 minutes after it has begun.

Well you should just play like 50bb effective stack should. Average stack does not affect your strategy usually at all, unless it's very late and everyones very short and heavy ICM-implications affect everyone. But at starting stages you don't need to care about average stack size, 50 bb:s is still plenty to play with.

Just use the charts. I entered a 40k a few times with 15 big blinds, finally ran that into a final table and won 3200, just using those charts and paying attention to payout implications. I don’t know shit really, just used my little skill and knowledge effectively.
