For me not much can beat a hand drawn stencil made on the ipad. Then run through 300 dpi brother pocketjet printer onto electrum gold standard thermal paper. But yes time consuming as hell. I can get away using stencil tricks and short cuts. But i always do a better tattoo when i take all the time sometimes 2,4,6 hours to hand draw it out and study the design while i do it and am much less stressed out while doing the tattoo when i spend all the time before. Id like to get better at the 10 minute stencils but its not often im near as happy with the end result when taking the fast route some people make it look so easy and fun. Everyone is different. Some people dont even use a stencil !
I’m a beginner snd i use epson m1120 with eco stencil from electrum with there eco stencil paper and stencil premium stencil stuff when you print a realistic image on the paper it looks light but when applied its perfect how you want it however you cant apply a lot or else it smudge’s i just applied a small amount rub it into the skin and then reply dome let it dry and get sticky then apply the stencil it always work for me
Yeah definitely tried to save the money, and got Ecostencils ink and come to find out that’s why it smeared the whole time when I printed Realistic Patterns which I do 90% of the time😂
I used nox violet in my ecotank printer and it definitely works but i still think inkjet legit brand is a bit better . Also the m1170 monochrome inkjet printer is the way to go if you use this system
I love your videos! Just found ya!! The only problem with this specific machine is it doesn’t have a digital screen, which makes it a pain to troubleshoot, I bought it to fill with inkjet, but needed to use it for regular printing before I had a chance to get inkjet. And honestly I can’t stand the fact it doesnt have that screen, I’m not sure which one I’m buying next but it will be a monochromatic just not this one. I almost threw it out the window and pull an office space on the thing 🤣
@vortexican8295 using the printer with regular printer ink before using it with stencil printer ink is a huge no no and will contaminate your stencils with toxic regular ink
Using the ecotank epsom m1120 I myself cheaped out and got the cheaper ink I did however get the inkjet stencil paper and applicator It seems the ink doesnt want to come off from the paper and onto the skin, will be trying the inkjet ink soon as i dont trust it while tattooing, gone back to hand stencils and freehand for now. Also with the light stencil that has come off and onto the skin i found making the client stand or sit next to a heat source makes it actaully stay. Annoyingly im trying out new tricks on fake skin and the ink seems to hold better on that then human.
Thanks for the input brother! Next to a heat source?🤣 Like the whole session ir just thr application?...Love the visuals of the client next to a heater sweating whilst youre saving the stencil😂😂😂
@vidblancomedia nah 😄 just for 20 minutes next to a radiator while I select what I need ect. I'm still in my 1st year of tattooing so was extreamly worried when I lost my stencil the first time. Take no chances now, it was when I looked at my fake skin that had dried over night that would not rub off even with alcohol that made me question of it takes longer to dry then carbon .. Still light as shit but the do stay. Anyway I'm going to try the inkjet ink and see of that works. If not I'm not going to waste anymore money and just stick with carbon paper and a light box

Thermal printer is the best, super cheap in comparison. The inkjet stencils are amazingly detailed, but wipe right off.
