New all star 2024 cards are coming to NBA 2K24 MyTeam. This includes the first ever 100 overall card in MyTEAM in 100 overall Kareem Abdul Jabbar. In the pack market, you are going to be able to buy Kareem just like Beasley. It’s very clear that Beasley was just a test run for this Kareem. And they will probably also have 2 Galaxy opal option packs or equal chance packs in the pack market. Then you can lock in the PDs for two more option packs that will be unsellable, so if you do lock in the PDs, and you don’t get the Galaxy opal option or equal chance packs from the pack market, then you better pick LeBron and Giannis from the lock in packs as they will likely have the most longevity.
But if it’s following the general pattern that 2K has done all year, then everything will be buyable. It just depends on how much you’re willing to spend.
Im curious if they did this to try to boost pack sales and cover losses because the player base is way down
They already exceeded expectations via micro transactions (buying MT and VC) for the year and we’re only halfway through the year.

Im a newer player, how does a new card affect existing cards for players? Will a card like Diamond Kawhi go down in price when a better version is released?

They legitimately said cards could be purchased in the player market at the start of this year. This is straight false advertisement to the new system.
Re read what you posted my man, "will grant access to ALMOST ANY PLAYER CARD AVAILABLE" Not once does it say you are promised anything in that player market, it isn't false advertising its just a really shitty play on words to confuse the consumer base.

i'm guessing that it's 4-5 pd for a galaxy opal since the playbook says "Collect all of the Pink Diamond Reserves to complete THEIR collection for a Galaxy Opal NBA All-Star Starter!".
