I emailed the company about the differences, and they replied: “We just shrunk the enclosure, removed the 9V battery. The only other change was the taper of the potentiometer for volume, but this happened towards the end of the V1 run. The value didn’t change, but the way it was spread around the volume pot did. There seems to be a big volume difference between them. I suggest you account for that in tonal comparisons. See if you can match volumes before you decide which sounds better.

I thought fuzzes get weird unless they are first in the signal chain? Could explain why the pedal not seeing the guitar first sounds off
