Update: I ended up going back to this location and had the chance to capture the original image I was intenting to in this video. Check it out here 👉 th-cam.com/video/F7wftj5NV-k/w-d-xo.html
I'm looking forward to the season changing up here, too! Glad you enjoyed the video! I ended up making another video from this spot, too and I talk through my process a bit more th-cam.com/video/F7wftj5NV-k/w-d-xo.html
For a video in the dark, loved your creative footage. Love the hooting and seeing deer eyes in your light.. great camera info! beautiful shots! and at times a floating nose.. lol
Cool journey! I tell you the truth though, as soon as I would've heard those first HOOTS at 1:18 (which immediately translated in my mind as "😳WOLVES"... [even though I now know they were Owls]🤦🏽♂️), that would've been the end of the video! 😂
Great video Dan, you mentioned that you have a video of your post processing steps which I would be very interested in, specifically image stacking and incorporating the foreground image. Let me know if that video is available. Thanks so much.
Thanks for reminding me about that! At the time, it didn't seem like anyone was interested in any post-processing videos so that idea kept falling down the priority list and I never made it. 🙄 Sounds like I'm going to have to add that back to the list! I do have another video from that location that you may enjoy and I do discuss my thought process a little bit more in how I planned to edit based on what I was capturing, but no actual post-processing tutorials yet. th-cam.com/video/F7wftj5NV-k/w-d-xo.html
@@DanFox thanks for the quick reply. I have watched both videos as I watched the 2nd video first and had to go back to the first video to see the reference to the deer. I’ve tried taking some astrophotography pictures before, but am struggling to understand the stacking process. Have a great day and keep up the great work.
Gotcha, well apologies that I never followed through on making the post processing video... the good news is that we're rolling up on a good time for milky way photography in the northern hemisphere again, so I'll probably be naturally shooting more of that stuff again and I'll prioritize making a video about it 👍

Really great video. I'm looking forward to some decent weather and dark sky to try this.

Let me know what you thought about this one! It was fun to make and I feel like I might be slowly moving toward including different types of content.
Just a casual THREE-HOUR drive home 🤪. You're a champ! 💪🏾
Lol. Good thing I like road trips! 🤣
Would’ve been cool to see those deer. I’d be so freaked out! Love the end product.
It was definitely an odd moment when they all raised their heads at once and before I realized what had happened 🤣

I thought I was subscribed but I am now. Beautiful buddy. Love it!
Appreciate it, man!
Beautiful shots there bro! Thank you for the photography lessons. I never knew so much went into getting a seemingly "simple" shot. Gorgeous finish!
More to come!
