Most underrated band in the history of bands. Period.
4 sure👍. If there ever is a next time. I will fly my mom out to see them .
Seen them 8 times and never gets old. Fantastic! Can’t wait to see them this summer with blues traveler
I agree..trekked to red rocks in '19 to see them....awesome show
@@johnp9773I saw them together, what a kick ass show!
On my Bucket list...
64 year old here...HAPPY NEW YEAR 2024...1/1/2024....i play this song several times a day...love it, Awesome..!!!
No computer, no auto-tune. Real music. What a concept.
Amen, Brother Thomas. Who would has tunk it.
🤣🤣Exactly. Young kids now days don't know what they are missing. So glad I grew up in the 70s as a teenager.
They recorded this with a computer
No shit!!!
Keyboards use a wulrlitzer
I'm 72 and it pisses me off that I just found these guys. They are right up there with the classics that I listened to in Vietnam.
Pops served two tours at Biên Hòa AFB. Agent Orange finally took him. Cancer, of course.. What a stupid war..
I agree, having been in the same place.
Long way to go!! I'm 59 & my mom is 87..Rock on!! Exercise, walk. Be positive! No negatives. Set high Goals!! Blessings!
They still play! Check big head Todd in the monsters monthly you'll love it
I'm 56 and didn't find them until a couple of years ago.
I'm only 60 but I was lucky to see these guys in the dive bar days in fla. Early 90s . My wife and I bought them a round , rolled em a fatty and danced all night. Best times of my life. They have been the soundtrack to many gatherings and good times.
Lucky SOB. Lol. Cool
Love you Todd...so underrated!!! I'm 76...love you guys
I was blessed enough to meet Todd Park Mohr at The Blue Note Waikiki in 2020, And I can tell you that he is as gentle in his personality as he is in his singing style.. Sweet and calm.. He was so gracious and polite. Not a rock star but a Human star.. Thanks Todd.. For giving me life long memories..
sounds like a cool dude
I went to college with Todd and we took italian class together. Todd is a super nice guy and he was pretty good at italian.
All great to hear because that is exactly his vibe!!!
@@cconnors47 I hope he they come back to Waikiki someday.
let us know!!
One day, I will go see them play in colorado at red rocks.
I know it's 10 years too late to be commenting on this video, but aren't Big Head Todd and the Monsters so great? And isn't Red Rocks about the best place ever to see a show?!?!
Back in the 90's, majority of bands were whiny and complaining about everything. This band stood alone
Went to see these dudes in Iowa City many years ago. Bouncer asked Todd for his ID to get in the section of the bar with the stage. Todd said he was in the band. The bouncer didn't believe him. I was behind Todd and stepped up to tell the bouncer that this guy was the star of the band. The bouncer let him in. Todd thanked me. I told him my name was Todd also. We had a right on moment and they kicked ass that night. Good dudes.
Cody j
Great story and great for you!!!
-- GREAT STORY !
-- LOL -- thank goodness that U helped OUR Todd ouT ; )
-- BHTM >>> ROCK !!
; )
Todd Goodwin. A year late with comment but still holds. Cool story haha. You were in right place at right time! HeyTodd’s my man, let him in!
Thanks Todd!
A great moment fir sure. And no doubt he has told it a few times too.👍
Got to meet Todd Park Mohr 12/2019 in Waikiki at the Blue Note. And I can tell you that he is as gentle in his personality as he is in his singing style.. Sweet and calm.. He was so gracious and polite.
You can't get a better venue like Red Rocks. Great performance.
We saw BHT at Red Rocks during June of 22. Great venue indeed!
Genesis 2:6 "On the 8th day God created all musical instruments, amplifiers, and electricity outlets, and a band called Big Head Todd & the Monsters and He placed all of this in the Garden"
It doesn't matter how many times I hear this song it still kicks ass.
For sure Duane!
Yeah it do!!
All time favorite for me! Gives me the goosebumpies
I could not agree more. It's just one of those songs that is THAT GOOD!
i know it's kind of off topic but do anybody know of a good place to stream newly released movies online ?
Another one of those great fkn bands that really didn't get their due! Loved these guys from the very first song I heard by them! This song, one of their absolute best!!! Big Head Todd fan for life!
One of the most under rated bands in the history of music! If they were from Los Angeles, Nashville, etc instead of Denver, CO, not a big music town, they would have a million subscribers getting 10 million views regularly!
Denver Rocks
ABSOLUTELY!
Heck yes! Finally saw them last month at the windjammer in the isle of palms, sc. now we will see them in ATL 2023. Waiting on those Red Rocks tickets!
@@kevinhubbard4582 A few of these guys graduated from Columbine which is in Littleton, CO a Denver suburb and a few miles closer to #RedRocksAmpitheater which has the best natural sound enhancers of all time!
For sure wv slick
Hey kids look! It's music played by musicians and not a computer.
hell even the computer CAN make good music
its just that the mainstream music companies make what's popular, not what's groundbreaking or actually good
@@KaptainKommissar no you have mind of your own
Love that comment!! WOW DAD REAL MUSICIAN'S
Whaaaaat?
Lmao
I drive Uber, and have noticed that happiest people are those coming down the mountain after a concert at Red Rocks!!!
So cool
Guy owns the yard. Great band. Massively underrated
One of the most underrated musicians you’ll ever hear
I'd just like to mention that I think its bullshit I can only click the thumbs up button once. Beautiful song, beautiful artists!
Thank god for TH-cam for having all these videos available; music is the perfect mental health break from COVID-19.
Will be seeing you guys and Blues Traveler in Missouri, Aug. 19th ❤
I'm 66 and this is the first time hearing You and the band .Nice job and I'm sure I'll be listening more now .Very nice .
It's nice when I play this music at the beach
and the young kids ask, "Who is that, that's good music" Hell F'in Ya it is!!!!!!!!!!
that alone is music to my ears! rock on \m/_(~,~)_\m/
Educational outreach! Much respect!
Billy Surface that’s beautiful
Billy Surface absolutely 👍
Billy Surface Coolio
There's a lot of snow in spring and I can't remember
The last time that I've seen her
The highway is still cold and wet and I can't forget
The way I had to leave her
And every passing day, she flickers and she fades
Is someone to catch her when she falls from the heavens?
And I'll love her yet, though she has done me wrong
And I'll bring her back, though she has been long gone
And I'll always be her
Broken hearted savior
And every heavy night
Takes out the little life that's left within her
Every man she gives her love, he takes it
And leaves her with a dinner
Our love was once a flame, now I'm just a forgotten name
Am I the only one to blame for ever loving her?
And I'll love her yet, though she has done me wrong
And I'll bring her back, though she has been long gone
And I'll always be her
Broken hearted savior
BH wrote some absolutely brilliant lyrics....might be the soul of indigenous Americans shining thru
A song of my twenties. Great times.
All three of my daughters(in their 30’s) grew up listening to dads music and they love this stuff too! He shreds that guitar doesn’t he?
My 3 daughters also Jeff! They grew up on these guys too, as well as Toad the Wet Sprocket, The Cult, The Cure, REM, Smithereens, Ramones, Radiohead, and so many more. And then of course, Pink Floyd, Ratt, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Tom Petty, AC/DC, Led Zepplin, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Soundgarden, Queensryche, Alice In Chains, Nirvana, Live, and so forth and so on......
Todd's one of the best guitarists around. Great band great song. Long time fan.
On my bucket list, seeing them at Red Rocks!
Finally saw them this year at Red Rocks. it was awesome. All shows at Red Rocks are pretty decent but this was special.
I've loved this song for decades now.
Man, I don't know a better song to rock on when you wake up at 11pm nap, feeling angry about injustice in this world..makes me BETTER than when I was 17. I'm 72, and with age comes WISDOM!!
Awesome....I'm 54 and I'm better than I was when I was 22, but I sure do miss those days. I wasn't obligated to anyone, I was free...and the music was THE BEST
Lord bless you . I love this music
When I met my wife back in 2003, we were checking out each other's CD collections and discovered that we both had Big Head Todd & The Monsters. We've always said that we wanted to see them play live. Well, 21 years later, we finally saw them last weekend at House of Blues in Anaheim. It was a great show. Next time, we're going to invite some friends.
"And l love her yet ..though she has done me wrong...and i'd bring her back though she has been long gone...."
I just heard about these guys tonight. 4-1-2019.This is no April fools Day joke. This gal asked me if i ever heard of Big Head Todd & the Monsters. I was like, Nooooo. I looked them up on Spotify and every song I listened kicked ass. Wow. Where have these guys been. I'm now doing TH-cam Live Concert searches of them. I'm a fan.
Awesome
Music as it should be...makes one wanting more...like a cool breeze on a hot day...
Fantastic song, what an opener for the show! Colorado gave us BHTM, and the world is a better place for it!
Someone just mentioned these guys in a post and I popped over here. I had forgotten how much I loved this song. They're amazing. ❤
Dude always seems like he's having such a great time. Tough to beat that.
thats what i love to see, guys having fun playing, you can tell when they are
When you love what you do and then you work at it because u love it, you get an excellent product/outcome.
Interessante
This proof we can get along. If you want too. Forgiveness is the key. . And with God all things are possiable. Love your neighbor.
So true Darren
You Guys Have a Lot Of Soul Lot Of Truth In This Pray For Peace 10-4 Central Wisconsin 10-4
It's so nice to see a band that's really into it, enjoying themselves, not just going through the motions. Love the way the drummer is so intense. Not to mention Todd's riffs.
That's what really music sounds like. Heck Yea !!!
simply amazing phrasing, tone and lyrics. Love BHTM ! what a great show by an amazing band
Red rocks is the best concert venue in the States. It's a magical place and the sound is awesome.
Probably one of the most underrated bands and song of all time. This is music from the soul.
I remember this band from way back. So good. His voice has a nice huskiness.
Absolutely Love Big Head Todd!!!!
Got to catch BHTM at the Blue Note Hawaii. 01/05/20 9pm show. Todd was nice enough to allow me to go back to the green room afterwards to say hi to the guys and briefly reminisce. He was so nice and gracious. He shook my hand a few times.. Thanks for the life long memory..
I'm trying to play and make music. So I watch videos of Todd talking how he writes.. awesome and ingenious
Crazy talented guys
Wish they would cover nobody left to run with
Todd, when are you guys coming back to Connecticut to see all your fans?!!!
We love you and miss you and have a brand new Amphitheater in Bridgeport waiting for your return. Make it happen in 22!!!
I saw you guys over 20 yrs ago one Thanksgiving night at "The Patio" in Indy...love you!!
hello, how are you doing it is nice meeting you here.
Excellent video & sound...drummer kicking hard, Todd awesome on the guitar...great story in this kickass song..!!!
I remember driving around in my 1989 Ford Probe, and when a Big Head Todd and the Monsters song came on, I would crank it up and jam. Just always liked their combo of melodic tunes, and funky jam/rock.
Liked your post and you reminded me of my ratty, but great old 94 Probe -- fine ride....all over the eastern coast from Maine to FL., listening to this groove CRANKED UP!
Muito bom!
My college days at CU included a whole lotta Big Head Todd and The Monsters. Good memories.
"Bittersweet" memories??? :)
Yes. My late 90s were spent living all over Colorado. The best years ever.
Just turned 20 and discovered y’all’s music. I’m absolutely floored with how good this band is! My dad listened to “Bittersweet” pretty often on cat rides, but I had no clue other than that. The passion that goes into these performances is absolutely awesome to me. The lyrics are top notch and the skill is nearly unparalleled. Anyways, y’all have gained a fan for sure. I’m looking forward to going to one of y’all’s concerts next year if I can, hopefully when I’m 21 and can enjoy a good drink too.
Comes a time when music is reaches out and touches you.....when a group plays to their fans....and they feel IT. This group..this song....this moment captures that experience. Truly a band that leaves their fans 'experienced'....WORD! ❤
I cant stop listening..
I play it over and over
Anger is a powerful drug it will take everything; your freedom, your sanity, your soul.
Love, love these guys. He owns my soul, with this song
Thank you Big Head Todd and the monsters for the beautiful music listening 1-5-22
hello, how are you doing it is nice meeting you here.
I have loved these guys for the last 20 years, but these Red Rocks recordings are amazing! My hat's off to the engineers at this concert - best sound ever!!
Michael Parsons red rocks is an amazing venue!!!
Michael Parsons I haven’t, but my brother has.
I saw U2 there in 83, REO, Cheap Trick, OMD and Robert Palmer there. Best Concert Venue in the World. Better than Hollywood Bowl. Too bad we won't see positive gatherings like this again for a long time.
I love when you se a Drummer, living so much into all numbers.... Fantastisk Amazing Band , you never get tired to hear.......all here to Denmark.
It is a joy!!
That's a Great Percussion in a Band !! 💯🤘
peeps that really know music know Todd's top level
I've got one...Broken Hearted Savior,,,, I Love Him Still....Love/Peace XO
Listening to this put me back into the late 90's. It was happen'n all over again. Great Song
I have seen these guys twice in Eugene Oregon. Small venues are the best. The last time it was the same venue I saw Chris Cornell the first time. Front row seats. The best.
Pure talent and should be up with the same level of song writers and performance masters.
I’m 66 and love love love music. I randomly this band last night because I heard their name only back in the 90’s. Wow! I’ve been missing out on great music!
Seen BHT probably 25 times. Mostly in San Francisco. Made the trek to Red Rocks to see them. Totally worth it 👍👍
I was so into these guys 20 years ago and saw them a couple of times. I'm so glad to discover they're still at it and so good!! Damn good music!!
drummer steals it.killer band.
One of the greatest albums of the 90's.
It's amazing just 4 awesome musicians can have such a complete sound. One of the best.
REAL music, was just introduced to this, instant fan. Love live music, the artist’s heart and soul are presented as well as the music.
I saw them for the first time at SD for NYE and now I'm a bigger fan for it!
never get tired of listening to these guys, music is awsome
Excellent, love the sounddddd! Real music, real instruments non of this computer overlays tune crap.!
Their LIVE music is 10x better than the recording studio cuts. One of the BEST live bands I have ever seen by far (other than David Gilmour and Floyd)
It's red rocks on here everyone's is ten times bad asser sounding in red rocks.
Such a musically talented band and a guitarist who’s ability of blues rock is something else which ch not many know of...
Love listening to them all the time.love their music.
Thank you guys!! It just doesn't get any better than this. Love ya'll!!!!!
Been epic since way back. Keeps the rocks singing brothers.
If I had only 10 songs to have on replay, this would be one of them.
n/
When you guys start playing i get the chills . Frickin awesome music 🎶 🎵 ❤
That is some AWESOME guitar-work!
Wow incredible live performance. I want to see then live now =D
Brings back memories. Saw them live twice.
Just now realized how underated a guitar player he is.
Hope YT gives them more access to a younger audience.
ROCK ON!
Have just discovered these guys, two months ago. Its like, "how have they remained hidden for so long?" Todd is up there towards the John Fogerty class. Great singer, awesome guitarist and very special songwriter. Backed up by an elite bass player and a seriously, seriously gifted drummer. SO glad I found em.
GodDAMN!! They sound better here than in ‘93!! I bought that record just FOR this track back then. 🤘
Just discovered these guys, I'm going through a heap of their stuff and loving it.
Over here in Australia I've never hear of them before, they're great
Hey Jim.. If you like Led Zeppelin. BHT did a cover of Tangerine.. Live too. Also a few weeks ago they released a video of "Brandy".. They played The Blue Note Waikiki 01/2020 right before Covid-19 and I got to meet Todd.. He was a very humble person for being a rock star.. Great memories..
@dave griego G'day Dave, thanks for the response. Yes Todd has a great vibe I can see, I've watched quite a few things now, and I really like the way they do their thing. It's great you got to meet him. I do love Led Zep and I downloaded BHT live at Red Rocks and was surprised to hear it as the second song, loved it !
As for Brandy, man awesome version of Brandy that got me into BHT actually, I loved it so much I went on a BHT splurge.
I really appreciate your comment, thank you and all the best to you from down here in Oz
I've probably watched this a thousand times. Friggin' awesome. Sounds even better than the studio version. You guys are bad ass's
Love them! Passed them down to my next generation! They love them too! My daughter has seen them 3 times. Baby sat for her while she went🤔🤣
Man, they were really cooking that night at Red Rocks!
I was lucky to see him at Milwaukee several years ago . Great person Great music!!!
Just found these guys last week. I can’t get enough of them. Looking for tickets! Just WOW!
My "go to" when I want to feel better..........It always makes me smile!
Killer show at one of the best venue's on the planet.
i think its one of the greatest live performance ever, his guitar riff off the hook !
And the drummer! He doesn't play because he wants to...he plays because he HAS to! He is awesome as well! :-)
Was moving my studio today and found some work from a previous store front. I was listening to the monsters during that period and it reminded me of the power of good music. The next painting I will bring Todd with me to draw from. Thanks Todd
Saw these guys for the first time in Dec. of 2019, probably one of their last shows before the COVID shutdown. Anyway they're playing a song in the middle of their set right? Maybe it was "Please Don't Tell Her I Love Her" not sure, but right in the middle of the song they break into Marvin Gaye's "Sexual Healing". And it was friggin' amazing. I was stunned. Cheers people.
MOST UNDERRATED BAND...EVER!!!
Sure seems like it. I gotta see them. They're incredible!!!
Fo Sho!
Muito bom!
Ever? This is a great performance of one great song. He also sings “brandy” very well, but that isn’t his. Look it up.
I love it love it
So many good jam bands formed around the same time period blues traveler Spin Doctors widespread panic big head tood, miss those days
I agree. And the boys of DADA were some of the best during this amazing time. The MONSTERS were superb.
