@@A.Negrao Sanji went from a chivalrous gentleman to prev to creep. Ennies Lobby was peak Sanji for me. Thriller Bark started turning him into a perv. Post-timeskip Sanji sniffing women with inflated nostrils is so damn creepy and the anime makes it worse. I understand it is the result of what happened to him in Kamabakka kingdom but that doesn't make me like him any more, only pity him.

Just keep in mind: Sanji's development is a long, slow burn. You'll find out his reasons for never hitting or harming a woman is deeper than you think it is...but it will be HUNDREDS of episodes before you learn the why of it all. Have patience with him, I promise he has a good reason for what he does.
As a man who refuses to hit wemon even in the same situation I relate to sanji and I'm happy somebody actually wrote a character that has this trait and isn't some fodder side character. Sanji will stay golden

i mean if you look at the situation as a whole....then you could say sanji doesnt care about helping the crew or robin. its one thing to say he would rather die than hitting a woman... but another if he rather sacrifices his crew and robin than hitting a woman
I will also say this, there is actually a canon, very traumatic, psychological reason why Sanji can't hit a women - its not JUST him being a horndog. Until you know what that reason is, Sanji's constant attempts at both flirting & his refusal to hit a girl come off as creepy (don't get me wrong, they are). The reason why Sanji does both actually retroactively makes a great many of the Sanji cringe moments become almost sad instead or just cringey.
This is just the beginning of the downward spiral into jokey loser that is the future sanji (now that is MY opinion without spoiling anything) sanji sucks‼️‼️
Somehow I really feel validated because I am so done with this part of Sanji ,and I honestly still feel the same even at the present Sanji. But over time that disappointment had lessen for me and I slowly learned to accept that kind of gag for him. There are still times I get annoyed at his actions but he's still likeable to me. thats just how he is, he would go let himself be killed by a woman while the crew fights other deadly assassins. a battle where every little bit counts for the victory in the end. with everyones life on the line and while robin is on her way to torture and death.
He tried to hit her, he literally can't do it. There's things that everybody in the crew can and can't do, and he can't fight woman. That's all there is to it. I'm sure he wished he could beat up woman, because he truly does want to save Robin and he has obviously demonstrated that.

I'm sure he'd be angry at Luffy for hitting a woman but he wouldn't hate him for it, he understands that Luffy is a different person and follows his own moral compass.
