I live in Kansas usually mixed weather almost all year round. but every time you guys get strong Hurricanes I get your Average weather followed by strong storms.
Because of watching your channel I was able to help an autistic child and mother in a walmart store crowded the little girl started to panic thus mother paniced so I talk low and slow and offered my friendship had her focus on me till we got out side. calmed both down. I'm a cna working medically with all sorts of adults children. where help is need is care centers where any acting up they end up on an alhemzers unit when all is needed is more eduucation and noing.

We have a train that goes right by our house/neighborhood all hours of the night too. So annoying. Funny when they mentioned a tornado warning n Asa said "David,get the lawnmower" because of that guy in the video earlier mowing his lawn while a tornado was right near his house.

The train sound that occurs during a tornado is from wind being forced through your closed windows and doors... I have witnessed this and the sound was loud and very alarming. It was like a train whistle but it did not stop until the majority of the wind had passed by us.
You guys are amazing family and people and your sharing experience from your pasted and every thing coming clean don't make you guys less a fantastic familia than you are doing great for you and your kids future and sharing your life with everyone your amazing friends.
Noticed several FL vloggers who didn’t know what to do for a tornado warning. You want to go to the lowest floor, center of the house, small, interior room away from windows. You want as many walls between you and the storm. I’m in Alabama and tornadoes are common in the winter months and in the Spring.
No you go outside and look for them😂 we get warnings and run outside and wait to see rotations and funnel clouds. I’m in NE NC, our tornadoes are EF0 MAYBE 1 unless it’s tornadoes inside our hurricanes. If we had higher tornadoes like the alley probably a different story.
I’m in Alabama and we get everything from EF 0 to EF 5. We also, sadly, see people in our stated killed from these storms (one just this past week). Majority of our tornadoes are also rain wrapped, so you wouldn’t see them even if it weren’t for the terrain (hills/mountains/trees).
Call your insurance co. and if the winds were bad maybe it loosened the shingles and you can get a NEW roof if you pay your deductible. We did a couple years ago!
It's amazing how much a simple thing can show you. I know they love each other as family, but the way Asa told summer to not run on the pool deck, was like when he worries and talks to Isiah mmh those are the little things
If it makes anyone feel better, healthy trees often have a large taproot going straight down that anchors it down. The roots we see help stabilize them too. I found that out the hard way when a storm knocked a tree down across my driveway, nearly hit the house! I might have a slight fear of strong winds now. Most arborists should be able to tell you if your tree is healthy and get rid of any problem areas for you.
Riding an electric scooter in the winter is 100% possible! I'm a student at Penn state (but FL native) I've had my scooter now for 3 years and the weather has to be really bad for me not to ride my scooter to class. Typically high winds is what stops me because thats when it gets really sketchy. I've even ridden it while its snowing and super cold out because it beats having to walk up hill in the snow and gets me inside faster!
We had horrible weather Thursday they let school out we had flash floods and tornadoes then Friday it was freezing and we had snow Saturday crazy crazy the kids look so comfy in your house. I think I need to come visit y'all 😂. I would be in major anxiety the whole time. My daughter will wear headphones if they play music but won't wear the regular ones. Also she has to sit to wear them she can't dance and play around. They all just look so scared. I mean like they can't contain themselves. I loved in an apartment one time that leaked because they forgot to put the vent cover back on when it rained.

Lots of fallen trees and flooding where I am in the south east UK. Rivers bursting banks etc. Our garden is under water... Recycling bins and boxes floating around the patio and raw sewage up into the garden because drains are bubbling. Glad it's stopped for now. Only to start again in two hours time according to radar.
As a Texas gal tornados are no joke. Glad y’all are ok though... it does and it will be dead silent before it hits... I’ve been in a tornado multiple times 😂😂 we had one here last year... woke me up from a dead sleep at 5:30 in the morning hearing the warning go off on my phone.... thankfully we were ok it actually hit hot to far from my house.
We have a bad storm today. Their are lots of people who have damages to their houses/cars etc and a lot of trees came down. The wind was blowing 80 mph. The storms name is Ciara. It is pretty scary outside. Luckily we don't have damages to and arround our house and cars but lots of people aren't that lucky😢

Sorry about your roof..that is not fun..coming right through the light to..all I can think is electricity...and yikes..YOu could always use a big rubbermaid storage box from the garage.
I'm in Kansas. I go out and stand on the porch everytime I here the tornado sirens! This also might sound kinda weird but we also have earthquakes as well. We could have snow, tornadoes, earthquake, and sunshine all in the day
Jessica White In Kansas, your terrain is such that you can see the tornado well before you are in a threat zone. In the south, with our terrain, you cannot. Our tornadoes are almost always rain wrapped as well.
I am really sorry about your roof leaks. We have had our share of homeowner challenges. Try to keep it in perspective. All of these things can be fixed as long as you are safe. Enjoy your awesome trip to Disney 🤗💗
Nice storm you had. We had it here at about the same time. Branches ricocheting off our roof, Great Dane barking her head off, trying to scare the storm away. The Lake in the West Yard reappeared. It's usually only there after hurricanes, so it was a very impressive storm. Several years ago, after a rather nasty hurricane, whose name I don't recall, we noticed several nasty leaks, including the one in our bedroom that was leaking at about 5 gallons every 2 hours and sounded like our own personal waterfall, we made the decision to get a metal roof. Best decision we've made in a long time. The year after we had the metal roof installed (and about 2 weeks after I had my right knee replaced), another hurricane visited us. It threw a rather sturdy oak tree down on the roof in the back of the house, right over the bed... the bed I was actually sleeping in at the time. The roof shrugged off the tree without even getting a dent in it. That roof probably saved my life that night, as I was not able to be very spritely at the time. I strongly recommend a metal roof. It's a safety investment, if nothing else.

What I remember when I was woken from a tornado is that sound and it will never get out of my head. It sounded like a train coming from a distance. I lived right by the trains and I knew it was not a train even half asleep.
It's interesting watching Abby n Braylee because Braylee is like my daughter now at age 6 n Abby is closer to what she'll possibly be like as a teenager. At least I hope she's as chill as Abby.
We get storms like that here in eastern Iowa as well as the tornado warning and watches. We had one hit outside of town at the trailer park thank goodness no one was hurt when that happened.

Having lived in Florida, I have a heightened respect of inclement weather. I live in Georgia and we went through 2 tornado warnings within a couple of hours in that same system. Ya gotta love Cilla! Too funny!
Check your vents on the side of the house. We had water coming in through our recessed lights once and it turned out to be coming from the vent because birds had pecked through the vent cover leaving a big opening. We replaced the vent cover and we never had any problems after that.
Were in central Florida on the coast and we had an oak tree come down on one of the 40 ft tall pines we have in the yard. We have probably 10 40ft-50ft pines I was so worried about the pines i didnt even think a 12ft oak would go down. I'm so sorry about your roof.

Oh asa your hilarious with David!! But I grew up with tornadoes as well and am terrified every time an alert goes off. I live in Dallas and awhile back we had 11 of them touch down the Home Depot totally flattened down the street from my home. It was such a different experience than before.
Watching the vlog and what do I see? The guy mowing his lawn with a tornado in the background. Got excited cuz that happened in a town about 30 mins away from me. The greatest thing about that guy is that he was in a bunch of local parades this past summer recreating that awesomeness!
I know & it was weird seeing NC's neighboring State(SC) recieving snow before us. Lol. We climbed out of our boats then put on our snowshoes. Thursday through today has been manic weather for sure.

Over 11 years ago. I was a new mom and lived in Whitby Ontario Canada. A freaking flukey majorly unexpected storm smashed into our town. It killed one women And I haven't felt peace about any storm coming into our area. So scary

We moved from New York to Kansas City to Mississippi. I can handle snow storms. Hurricanes and tornadoes still scare me so bad. Lovely Mississippi gets both lol

I love how tornados are so normal here (living in tornado valley) I will say we know it gets bad when it gets quiet. That’s the time to hit the deck, never heard the train analogy! We always wait for it to be quiet to know it’s here. I’d take tornados over your hurricanes though 😅
If you hear the train, it's too late. I had a tornado go right over my house and it really does sound like a train. Then it gets dead silent when it's gone.
Right before a tornado hits, all the rain, wind, hail, thunder & loud noises, stop all at once, then Boom!! The sky turns greenish and it sounds like a car being hit by the fastest locomotive!

My poor Dad had water coming in through his light fixture on the weekend and then the ceiling in an upstairs bedroom collapsed. But he lives in Australia. The whole east coast is being hammered with rain which we desperately needed but a bit too much. Many places have had flash flooding but no hurricanes or tornadoes.

Tornadoes are spectacular! We had a twister rip through last year, it was devastating but as a storm chaser/spotter, it was amazing!

Lowest level in FL is usually first floor. Too close to sea level for basements.
I'm in Iowa we also go look for them... Well other people not me.. But aren't tornados just baby hurricanes.. LOL 😅😅😅😅

In Georgia this past Thursday morning we had thunder storm with tornados and Saturday morning we had snow.

I heard the wind chimes and started to freak out just a little, twister is an awesome movie though, we just had a storm here in the UK i hate the wind it's so noisy, don't mind thunder storms but wind nope.

Having lived in Florida, I have a heightened respect of inclement weather. I live in Georgia and we went through 2 tornado warnings within a couple of hours in that same system.

Check your vents on the side of the house. We had water coming in through our recessed lights once and it turned out to be coming from the vent because birds had pecked through the vent cover leaving a big opening. We replaced the vent cover and we never had any problems after that.
Were in central Florida on the coast and we had an oak tree come down on one of the 40 ft tall pines we have in the yard. We have probably 10 40ft-50ft pines I was so worried about the pines i didnt even think a 12ft oak would go down. I'm so sorry about your roof.

Oh asa your hilarious with David!! But I grew up with tornadoes as well and am terrified every time an alert goes off. I live in Dallas and awhile back we had 11 of them touch down the Home Depot totally flattened down the street from my home. It was such a different experience than before.

Watching the vlog and what do I see? The guy mowing his lawn with a tornado in the background. Got excited cuz that happened in a town about 30 mins away from me. The greatest thing about that guy is that he was in a bunch of local parades this past summer recreating that awesomeness!

I know & it was weird seeing NC's neighboring State(SC) recieving snow before us. Lol. We climbed out of our boats then put on our snowshoes. Thursday through today has been manic weather for sure.

You have a leak in the roof when it rains but where I am at we have a river that runs down and ruins our road in front of our house and a few leaks in the patio coverings
Over 11 years ago. I was a new mom and lived in Whitby Ontario Canada. A freaking flukey majorly unexpected storm smashed into our town. It killed one women
And I haven't felt peace about any storm coming into our area. So scary
Glad all is fine y'alls way & Having a fun visit amidst the storm. This was certainly an Extra for us , the combo of families. Looking forward to Disney Trip , shares...Ugh,I know that extra laundry is going to bite. I've had to wring out soppy towels before. Not fun

I literally live in tornado alley here in southeast Missouri. I’ve seen funnels but thankfully have never been in a tornado🤞🏼

We moved from New York to Kansas City to Mississippi. I can handle snow storms. Hurricanes and tornadoes still scare me so bad. Lovely Mississippi gets both lol

I live about 700 feet from a train yard that is very active. If there were ever a tornado I wouldnt be able to hear a difference lol

I live in GA and we had a tornado warning Thursday during my 8am class. We had to take shelter. You guys handled the situation much better than I did.

I love how tornados are so normal here (living in tornado valley) I will say we know it gets bad when it gets quiet. That’s the time to hit the deck, never heard the train analogy! We always wait for it to be quiet to know it’s here. I’d take tornados over your hurricanes though 😅
If you hear the train, it's too late. I had a tornado go right over my house and it really does sound like a train. Then it gets dead silent when it's gone.

I live in the panhandle, that storm was something. I was sent home from work, not mad about it, but yikes that was a lot of rain.
Right before a tornado hits, all the rain, wind, hail, thunder & loud noises, stop all at once, then Boom!! The sky turns greenish and it sounds like a car being hit by the fastest locomotive!
Y’all are like us midwesterners; we go out and watch the tornadoes coming in, too

My poor Dad had water coming in through his light fixture on the weekend and then the ceiling in an upstairs bedroom collapsed. But he lives in Australia. The whole east coast is being hammered with rain which we desperately needed but a bit too much. Many places have had flash flooding but no hurricanes or tornadoes.
