Indians are not begging for it. Foreign countries have demand but have incompetent locals to full fill their requirement. One Google search will tell you that Indian ethnic group are the most QUALIFIED ethnic group among migrant in Australia, Canda, UK and the US. Moreover, they are either the number 1 or 2 when it comes to household income. Also, they are not involved in any crimes. So, this is the value Indian brings in.

@@JJ-wk5wy yes these South Asians have ruined it for international students
Because they are really here to work low paying manual labor jobs
      With that said…
We borrowed and spent living the good life/high standard of living
That is what you folks don’t get… we are broke. Azzzzzz…. Canadians who can’t pay our debts sitting on 2 trillion in Provincial/Federal debt these days
Debt we really started running up in the 1940s.
Sow dem gud ole dais ye pine fer?
we didn’t pay for the first time around
Which we just kicked this debt down the road for future generations to pay for
Problem is, we stopped meeting “natural” population replacement rates in 1971
And we have around 1000 boomers turning 65 each and everyday in Canada (That started in 2011 won’t end until 2028) By 2036 we will have around 11 million Canadian seniors
As by 2032 immigration will make up 100% of our population growth
So we pack in the immigrants the poor ones to make our french fries and more importantly flip us over in bed in the old age home
The rich ones to come support the economy and prop up the real estate
Because most of these boomers are also personally cash poor/in debt
      But luckily….most of these boomers????
Shockingly by some engineered miracle the last few decades 😉!!!!! own a 40 year old plus never been renovated, overpriced home some immigrant is willing to overpay for.
Which these boomers can get lines of credit on or reverse mortgage on or
      sell if they have to
Which they should not .. … as that home will be one their own personal old age home in the future unless you can show me some links…
on our building/buying enough facilities to house millions of Canadian seniors in the next decade
Yes it’s one big Ponzi scheme that scr (ew) over the younger folks but we don’t want to crash our Ponzi Scheme of economy.
(I have purposely gone to live in countries and among the locals living on a dollar a day wages in comparison to our dollar. You think your life su…cks these days)
Try having 50k of someone else’s currency worth 2 million of our Canadian dollars
Or have what kids you and I did actually have…
Having to sell their wares to Russian sailors for a 500 CDN dollar loaf of bread
or trying to sail a boat to some distant country for a better life wind up washed ashore on a beach
Or grandmami/grandpapi begging on the street because that nest egg home they have they can’t sell off or afford to live in
So the people at the bottom of our society lose out…. or we all do
Don’t like packing in these immigrants/people as the solution?
Let’s hear you folks say “I demand to pay more taxes” and “I demand less social services in return”
Or let’s sell 25 year 50 year forward contracts on our natural resources some foreign corporation or Country can come into mine. Using our young as cheap labour
Or let’s be known as the deadbeat generation who had to resort to selling off pieces of Canada
Plus since we stopped replacing ourselves.
It will be more and more likely the great great great grandkids of these new immigrants stuck paying off the debts we run up long after we are gone… As we stick them with the bill
But since we have been sel fish our whole lives living that good life let’s “now” complain about the solutions after decades and decades of this
Our being broke… azzz Canadians who couldn’t replace ourselves

    1. Most Chinese students getting their student visa they study and spend money sent from their parents from China or elsewhere.
Indian students half study half working past time to finance their study. Not much money will spendh sending from India or from outside.

Canadians are fed up and angry at this mass immigration of foreign students and temporary foreign workers. So now the government is listening and acting.
Why is it so difficult for foreign students to return to their country once their studies are complete. Indian students in some parts of Canada are demonstrating to extend their work permits. Why? Their studies are over.

As an Indian I want Australia, Canada and EU govt politicians to first take care of their citizens. The cost of living crisis has hit all economies baring few.
Also foreign countries must ban migration pathways based on education. This will stem the flow of Indian students. Blaming Indian students for adding to economic woes will create animosity which should be avoided.
I can't blame students in India looking for opportunities to uplift their economic status however it cannot be at expense of adding to economic issues in another country.
For genuine students Indian unis must continue to tie up with foreign unis on courses so that there is standardisation. There is no lack of good education in India.
It is just that there are no jobs for qualified students including professionals. This needs to be top priority for our govt and private sector.
There are tough times ahead for young generation which will be further augmented with adoption of AI. AI will create lots of job but those will not equate to jobs that AI will replace.

The current situation extends beyond just a housing crisis. it’s closely tied to the job market. Local students are increasingly finding it difficult to secure unskilled jobs, which traditionally have been available to them. Many students and immigrants are now filling these roles, leading to a competitive environment where young locals are expected to start earning by age 18. They typically work part-time in unskilled positions to support themselves while studying at university. However, these jobs are often taken by unskilled immigrants and foreign students (primarily as a result of inflation and raised cost of living), as businesses frequently prefer hiring them due to their willingness to accept lower wages. for instance, many Indian grocery stores and restaurants hire Indian students who work for cash, often below minimum wage. in contrast hiring local students requires businesses to comply with legal wage standards.
This dynamic has sparked a significant backlash among locals, who feel that immigrants, refugees, and international students are "stealing" their jobs - a sentiment that holds some truth. In Canada, local students are protesting against stringent government measures, advocating for more relaxed policies and immediate PRs. This unrest is causing friction with locals and politicians alike, potentially complicating the future for aspirants from countries like India.

Idk maybe it's like the government that subsidizes the education of it citizens through taxes payed for a life time by other citizens. It's not mystery as why these unis can exist both with and without them. Sure maybe the government is not directly paying for you to attend, but its not like government is really seeing any of the money they're spending going back to them. Many of the institutions that they're attending are just diploma mills that are churning out useless degrees and the private owners are the only ones benefiting by profiting heavily.

One of the top concerns of Canadians is the changing nature of Canada due to the massive influx of backdoor immigrants (Students). Aaaand, there is an election next year in which the Liberals are predicted to lose. I cannot speak for Australia, but as far as Canadians see these students, the perceptions are consistently negative.

Developed countries are right in their own way to set their own rules to benefit their own people. Immigrants that want to seek better quality of living can’t do so at the cost of locals. There needs to be a balance, and every country and political party has a right to determine this. Countries are unfortunately becoming more nationalist to seek support from the masses. Democracy is flawed because it lets masses and incompetence win, over merit or “fair” opportunity. Political parties portray “fair” in ways that suit them best, and off late it is more polarising in nature and less collaborative.

The Australian policy targets all international students, not just Indians. In fact, the government should take big responsibility for the housing crisis. But Overseas students certainly contribute to the problem, not just the housing. Many students also don't work in the field they studied, many keep enrolling courses to extend the stay, but never completing or working in their field etc. All these things make it harder to estimate the Cost vs benefit. And yes, they are soft targets to blame students instead of better policies & executions. But not to worry, when Universities run out of money, they'll ask for Government assistance, and the Government will increase numbers in time.

It simply means you are blaming your incompetence on to others. If you are competent, then you could have found a job that pays well and afford the good things. This is true anywhere in the world. Also it is true, even in India, that there are people who hate inbound migrations. They usually tend to be the incompetent ones who blame everyone else for their misfortunes. The international students & high skilled immigrants are following the law. You are not the country, you just get one vote. If you have problem then take it up with your govt. Also you should be knowing that international students are an asset - if they dont come, then the STEM jobs wont be filled. Most of these top corporations have presence worldwide including India. They will simply ship the job overseas. Which means your entire town will turn into a ghosttown eventually. Lets say a foreign student comes and works in your country for $5000 per month. They would typically end up spending $4000 on rent, fuel, grocery, restaurants, bills etc. ie consumption. If that job is shipped overseas, all the connected industries will lose their income. So to satisfy ONE INCOMPETENT PERSON, should the entire economy suffer ?

It is sometimes good to monitor the migration and how much a country can handle, if there is better pay in own country nobody would go out.
It is just the pay and currency and value of the income which they may receive that makes studying abroad fancier as well.
Most students are professionals who join pg or any course , but on top of that they bring in the family - say wife or husband and kids , to support the family both have to definitely work in a foreign country because as students one person can only work for specific hours.
Although there are many concessions, it is like that country has to create a job for every student who comes with family.
They need place to stay, if they have kids there are more rules on accommodations, housing is definitely a problem as it is easier to allot a student hostel to one person but developing a housing community for new families entering is difficult for any country.
This family is actually going to take a job that was supposed to be for someone else.
This is one of the most used way of Migration.
When the job market is too volatile for the existing people, more people coming in is a burden for any country as it has to provide housing, water, electricity and basics for any human. It is a boon and a bane.

Canadians are raised to not hate and to embrace diversity (including being taught this in all daycares/schools). People need to look at all sides.
India has a 29% unemployment rate amongst it's own graduates. One of the big reasons why young people are leaving India in droves, yes? Plus less than 50% of the 950 million working-age population in India is employed (compared to over 70% in other emerging markets). Amongst the Indian working group, many are self-employed and contain “unpaid helpers in family enterprises”. India has one of the highest emigration rates in the world. As many zero in on education as a way to gain access to a western country?
Did international students/families pay into Canadian taxes all their lives like domestic students have (earning cheaper tuition fees)? No. Plus Canada did NOT tell international students/parents to spend/risk their life savings on a "Canadian dream". Canada did NOT tell international students to borrow money. Canada did NOT promise international students work. Canada did NOT promise international students money. Canada did NOT promise international students PERMANENT RESIDENCY.
Meanwhile freelance agents have been operating in an unbridled market in India. Often by painting a distorted picture of what students can receive from Canada. Plus in recent years, a new type of recruitment has cropped up via foreign nationals as many "edu-tech" have created online platforms to connect millions of potential students with the recruiters. The sub-agents have absolutely no no direct connection with the Canadian college. Plus the college has no no ability to control their conduct. Indian sham operations abused/abusing Indian students in person &/or via massive advertising. PRIMARILY in their native language that most Canadians do NOT understand. Painting a false picture in their minds (of what Canada could or would or should offer).
Canadians are seeing primarily Indians protesting & waving their flags on Canadian streets making demands. Because they may not have enough credentials to remain in Canada? And because rules designed to protect CANADA are not meeting their desires? Why isn't there crowds of African or Caribbean or Filipino etc., students making demands? They're in Canada too.
And even though Canada is being falsely/unfairly blamed for too much, Canada has yet to deport students like crazy (but likely will soon). Instead Canada has been trying trying to find balance of who can stay vs go. While also trying to fix anything Canada did wrong. Create a better future. Why? Because Canadians actually care about doing so for both Canadians and international students.
Canada's own youth are also victims of the above mentioned scam artists now too. Due to a SEVERE lack of affordable homes, and lack of entry level jobs, and healthcare waiting times now ... partially due to international students swarming the system then fighting for PR etc., versus returning home. Including some students asking for Canadian asylum (which rarely gives them PR).
    Questions:
⦁ What is India doing about any of this? After Canada told India to halt Ghost Consulting. Many Indians keep saying their politicians are corrupt. True? Plus Canada didn't have numerous PRIVATE 'diploma mills' until 40% of international students were from India. Coincidence? Schools that Canada is shutting down.
⦁ What about all the YT videos that primarily Indian nationals have posted (for half a decade now including today) all advertising Canadian PR like they're selling a product? Promoting Canadian visas & permits & schools & jobs etc. etc.. Videos not only posted hourly but rarely in English or French. With very very rare input from Canadian citizens.
⦁ What about the IELTS spouses? Anchor babies?
⦁ What about Canadian food banks & other charity services being recklessly advertised on YT in Indian languages?
⦁ What about Canadian housing being scooped up en-mass as investment vehicles by, and for, foreign nationals? Some home rental/boarding signs stating "vegetarians only can apply". Often these 'landlords' also cram 20 students in a small home and charge them each way too much for rent.
⦁ What about Indian nationals buying local businesses then repeatedly putting Indians only in the top tier positions (while also changing familiar work practices)? BC & Ontario are also outlawing the Caste System.
⦁ What about the Sikh vs Hindu violence/extortions across Canada? Diasporas stirring up tribal hatreds (in Canada) even though it all stems from their ancestral home. Why?????????
⦁ What about the Canadian government launching investigations in regards to foreign interference in Canadian elections, stemming from Asia continent? Canada also had to end flagpoling at the border.
Canadians are so so so not used to all this!! Do Indians care about Canadians suffering too?
Or do they primarily want to point fingers at the Canadian government etc., when many things weren't in Canada's control?
Canadians want multi-culturism to succeed and for all people (including immigrants) to be okay. Now everyone I know is VERY happy with IRCC's recent changes (reductions & multifaceted investigations etc.). Including multi-generational long-term Asian Canadians MOST upset (by all of this).
PS Immigration being decreased in: Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia, The Maritimes, Alberta, Saskatchewan, & Manitoba. Chances are better for homebuilders, healthcare-givers and job CREATORS.

Bro, I feel you completely but you're literally missing out on the Canadian government's inability to handle the entire situation. I mean, yeah sure no one from Canada called the students there, but they all were granted visas by the Canadian government right? Those visas are legal and valid. You are only presenting one side of the coin while conveniently ignoring the other. The Canadian government sure knew what they were doing giving these many student visas in the first place, they were minting outrageous amounts of money in imports. You sound like you're one hundred percent affected by the high unemployment and inflation, and you're venting here. While you may be right here, you are definitely overlooking so many crucial facts, like how the Canadian government has given its complete support to Khalistani Secessionists, who are becoming a constant nuisance for Indians there and now Canadian locals too. I would like to say one more thing, which is Indians are not the only group of people emigrating every year to Canada, there's other Asian ethnicities too, like Chinese, Filipinos, etc. Why don't you have any problems with them taking away your jobs and opportunities? I'll tell you something, if you're so worried about all this, you should consider voting for a better government in the future elections. Good luck.

Canada and Australia freely import European origin students and workers as exchange students and workers from England, Germany, France, Poland, Argentina, Uruguay, Spain, South Africa and more. Why.. because Canada and Australia trace their origin to European brothers and sisters as cousins so, importing European origin people is clearly not the loss to Australian and Canadian genetic identity and at the same time, the artificial nature of their culture can easily be trained over time through assimilation. People of European origin are easily imported for marine research, hotel management and hospitality, big team based research reservations in universities among these countries, arts and movies like the US importing Russell Crowe, Nichole Kidman, Charlize Theron, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Leonardo DiCaprio, Margot Robbie, Kate Winslet, Dolf Lundgren to act in classic US Hollywood American country side movies. So, Polish, French, German, British, Argentinian, Spanish, Norwegian, Danish, or Austrian can easily be assimilated without any identity politics in Australia and Canada. But, these developments in Australia and Canada are racially motivated because the word immigrants today is linked with non-European origin people from all over the World and not at all with European origin people present in the rest of the World. Multi culturalism only happens when people of different genes are given equal chance and rights..but, that is what Australia and Canada European origin rulers cannot relate to by making racist policies like these without being explicit about Xenophobia. You can also make sense in case of the US is that the US-Canadian border is not much of an issue as much as Mexico-US border because from Mexico and below all Latin countries don't have large European origin genes as it is the case with Canadian genes that is the European genes it is all happening out of Xenophobia right from source the character of people of United Kingdom riots resonating into all Common Wealth countries like Canada and Australia. 👉 Xenophobia and Fear of multi non-European culturalism expansion and their financial freedoms 👈

You know that according to statistics India is the most racist country on the planet right. There are several leaders in the governments of these countries of Indian origin. Let me ask you how many prime ministers have been of North Eastern Origin.
Stop with the woke stupidity. We know why you want in, you don't respect the country's rules. Your country also regularly posts expansionist wet dreams called Akhand Bharat and you look down on your neighbours. You are no different then the british. Remember you are not the victim, you are merely a competitor for the spot of oppressor.

Disagree. Indians take over whole cities and towns in their host countries. Differences is Europeans don’t overpopulate countries where they go and at least give a fair go to other cultures and nationalities.

Students from India, particularly the Punjab region, are notorious for non compliance with visa conditions, frankly, they grossly rort the system, overstay, disappear into the black economy, bribe educational institutions to record them as attending when they are working. The increase by 50 % in the private vocational sector is particularly concerning. A significant proportion are conducted by Indians and they co operate in the rorts. It's well past time the authorities took action. Hypocrites like Ms Sharma act all pious and cast aspersions on law abiding, decent, compassionate societies like Australia and Canada, but happily abide the most corrupt government and public service systems in the World.

Funny enougn India is on track to face a similar population collapse problem as China in a few decades with its birthrates in a downward spiral. Would be ironic if they need immigration themselves to stave off their dwindling population.

Immigration curbs in Canada and Australia now extend to ALL TYPES of migrants- such as temporary foreign workers, asylum seekers and foreign students. Politicians are now focusing on complaints from the public about job shortages requiring skilled workers, as well as demand/supply imbalances in residential housing, health care, education and social support services

I Live in Australia from last 9 years, came as a student, finish the study on time, got PR with in 3 years, secure the job. Worked hard , learned alot, got opportunities to step up few times which I did and finally running my own few businesses. It’s a land of opportunity.
    what a beautiful country.
What I understood from politics and locals, they will never let it become Canada, UK and America. This country is very different then these other west country. They happy what they have, and don’t want to being too many people in, nor foreign business as they damage the environment.
Australia is very concerned about their environment and have strict environmental policies.
Regarding international students, this is very true that they have housing crisis and now job crisis since they brought 500000 students in in recent financial year.
Locals are blaming migrants for this.
Politicians are doing what they can to make people happy.

Pivoting the cause entirely on immigration-politics would be wrong. Despite education consistently being one of the top 10 revenue streams for the nation, Australia is willing to take firm action that can contribute to easing the housing demand. Australia has also put caps and regulated AirBnb which impacts tourism(again, one of the top 10 revenue streams).
What matters, is Australia does what it thinks is right for its citizens. The citizens are more legally organised and aware of ground realities before going into an election.
