Crazy how a song can be that complex with mutiples layers and just sound that great, this is a masterpiece and you are the genius behind it, thank you !
Hi Karan!! That dissonant note was actually one of my favorite things about this song. I appreciate the balls it took to incorporate a note that could have been off-putting, but your compositional skills shine once again and make it awesome!
Goodness gracious. I thought I was the only one looking out for AGDinCA's comments in the reaction vids. But its also the main dudes...how insanely awesome is that?! 😀
this is so cool. amazing saying that he sent Koba the sounds of what he wanted from them and to give it back to him in 2 days and then not have to change it is to me amazing. i think this is why more bands are trying to collaberate with Babymetal because of how professional they are and how they can blend two bands is awesome.
Karan, this video is absolutely incredible, wow!! I'm a composer myself and I've been in awe of your composition skills ever since I first heard your music, but seeing you break it all down like this is absolutely amazing! There are so many details and layers that blend in together so beautifully, and it's so great to hear the different parts on their own and hear more about the thought process and decisions behind them (even if that's just 'it sounded awesome' - best reason for anything in music haha). And all the stuff about the raga scale! When I heard it, I was SO sure it had to be an Indian scale - I love so much how you incorporate things like scales and chords from India into your music as well as the rhythms and instrumentation, it's one of my favourite things about Bloodywood. And those SYNTHS, they're so good, I'm in love with that curve on the synth that plays alongside the santur, the timbre of it is fantastic and I love how it just builds the intensity and urgency, the two instruments work so seamlessly together. Wow! I could nerd out over this for hours. This entire video is genuinely so inspiring to me, just to see it all laid out, get a glimpse into your process and all the incredible work that's gone behind such a fantastic song. Thank you SO much for filming this and giving us the opportunity to geek out, it's AWESOME!
The blending of your sounds and styles is nothing short of PHENOMENAL! It’s now my D&D character’s battle anthem, and that’s saying something, because I’ve been playing her for years and she’s had no battle music previously
excellent content Karan-Metal, Can you tell us if SU, MOA, and Momo liked seeing themselves animated, because we have wanted a Anime for them for a long time. Hopefully seeing your great animation of them will provoke them to make their own Anime.
Loved this entire breakdown. The way your mind works around building any song is insane and I wish I have your knowledge. I hot into metal and guitar through Alexi Laihos masterpieces but artists like yourself and Ryoji Shinomoto from Ryujin are lighting a new path in metal(maybe a collab could be here also) . Keep up the great work and looking forward to the album release. I received my Bekhauf tshirt today also so Australia will be seeing Bloodywoods name more often.
First time listener of bloodywood. This is an amazing song. I couldn't skip the song once it came in my YT feed. This is so difficult in today's day and age considering how niche your genre is as well. Well done all of you.. This breakdown helps a lot to budding bands. Incorporating the major 3rd gives the song that extra kick.
Bohot Badhiya, Karan Bhai. I love Bekhauf so much. Thanks for this, loved the breakdown of the song. 07:43 Jayant bhtai ka japanese sun ke hassi aagayi. 07:46 😂😂
Epic behind the scenes stuff! It is a wonderful eye opener that makes listeners / viewers appreciate the song even more 🔥 Thank you for sharing this breakdown!
Babymetal are such great collaborators. They understand different artists' artesic differences. While staying true to themselves but not letting their egos get in the way. This is how all collaborations should be done in the future. No wonder everyone wants to work with them. What a masterclass this has turned out to be here. Also congratulations to Su-Metal being selected as 2024's female metal vocalist of the year by metalawards. Taking almost 40% of the vote totaling over 100,000 votes. 🤘🦊🔥
"That makes no sense to me, but it sounded good, so that's how it is." Brilliant. Also TIL that Moa and Momo contributed vocals, nice! Thanks for including all the girls!
Dude, I know nothing about making music but found this very interesting and impressive. I love the main parts of a band, guitar, bass, drums, and lyrics but all the other parts added really enhances a song to another level. So much mixing and editing with the songwriting, it's so damn complex and brilliant to compose making it all work. I'm a huge Babymetal fan and they have made some great collabs with other artists. I have to say that Bekhauf has become my favorite by far. I lean more towards heavier metal and rock, you guys were heavy as hell in this song. The drums were relentless almost the whole song, the blending of your harsh vocals with the BM clean style is SOOOO perfect to the ears. The blending of the 2 cultures and 3 languages is fantastic. Last I have to mention how much I loved the anime video, as a newer anime fan I badly want a series or movie of this. I remember you guys made a post mentioning that it could maybe be possible. Where do I donate for this to happen?! LOL. Anyways, loved the video and amazing work on this banger of a song!
Thank You for this sir, Bloodywood is one of my favourite metal bands of all time, as someone who is attempting to learn production this video is a goldmine
What an amazing breakdown. Also at “but now that you’ve heard it you will never be able to unhear it” followed by the sinister evil genius smirk!! Love it at 11:50 And the Santoor!!! I instantly recognized the instrument even though at least 2 or 3 of my friends kept saying it was most likely some sort of distorted or electrified sitar!
Very cool breakdown, thank you! I'm always amazed by the little tricks that producers add to the mix that are not quite consciously noticeable, but make a real difference to the overall sound and atmosphere in the end. I love the sound of the Santur (actually just learned from you that that's what it's called) and the synth together!
Karan, this is totally fascinating from both the perspective of somebody who really enjoys your music but also from a production point of view. It's really interesting to hear some of the elements in detail and your thoughts and motivations behind them. Thanks for taking the time to do this, I'd love to see mode video like this! Also, it's put me in the mood to open up my DAW and have a crack at finishing off one of the many in progress projects - so thanks for the inadvertent motivation!
I want that slow vocal from Jayant for every song so learning to sing along with his parts when you don't speak Hindi isn't as hard as it is right now...
Discovering Bloodywood in 2024 and hearing you live was one of the biggest highlights. Hearing Bekhauf live, you truly hear so many of these nuances which makes the song that much more grand. Thank you for the breakdown Karan and all the great work you do to bring Indian metal to the global scene.
Hi, Karan! I must say, that “odd” note (using B instead of B♭) was a BRILLIANT choice! It makes the song so addictive!!! I love hearing different musical scales incorporated into your music!!! I’ve been a fan since Dana Dan, and every time Bloodywood releases music, I’m blown away. I always think, “the last release was INSANE, I have no idea how they could top that”, and yet, you guys always do!!! Thank you so much for this deep dive into the production of BEKHAUF. The amount of thought and detail that goes into your songs is mind-blowing!!! The lyrics, vocals, melodies, harmonies, and instrumentation combine to take the listener on a powerful journey. If you ever feel inclined to record more song breakdowns, I’d love to hear what you have to say!!! Rock On 🤘❤ -A Brave One from the Midwestern USA
Incredibly complex and well-written song, I absolutely love it! From the composition all the way to the quality of the sound and the tones is immaculate. Also absolutely love your sense of humor as well bro ;)
I know barely anything about music theory but I love song breakdowns like this. It reminds me just how much work and craft goes into the songs that give me so much joy. If at all possible I would be very grateful for more of this. Thanks a lot for everything! Looking forward to seeing you live again soon :)
This much insight in how a song is made is exceptional. I really love how you describe each part of the song and why it is how it is. Also great to hear how nice your work with Babymetal was. Looking forward to more indepth videos!
Thank you so much for this insight into your process. I feel like that unexpected major 3 note really put the Bloodywood stamp on this song and almost took the place of the heavy swing that I've come to expect (and love). This is a great song that I now like even more now that I understand better what went into it. Please keep it up!
Bro that was inspiring, it calls me to take up the guitar again and put all those bits n pieces into context… would love to see more of these from your earlier compositions as well and get to know your evolving experiences
I adore the song! Seeing it broken down in this way makes me appreciate it even more (which I didn’t think was possible). I really hope I get a chance to see you guys headline in Texas. Seeing Bekhauf live would make me cry happy tears.
So great to have an understanding of all the choices you made to create this amazing song. Fantastic engineering job. I love ever measure and every beat and now I appreciate it even more than I already did. Carry on!
Thank you for this! It would be great to see more of these, definitely! My favourite part of Bekhauf is near the end when Raoul goes "blast past the line", I love how it literally feels like it's switching gears and then goes even harder. Love you guys! Greetings from Finland!
That was one amazing breakdown. Enlightening to know how well drilled and hard-working you all are behind the scenes! ❤ Love the band and all your songs - each wins make us proud and each win feels personal 🎉 Keep it up!
Loved the track, and loved this breakdown even more. Just makes me appreciate the song a whole lot more! I've been following you guys from the days of your Post Malone parody, and it's been such a pleasure to see how much you guys have grown musically and as a band! Brilliant work Karan, appreciate the work you and Bloodywood do, eagerly waiting for this beast of a record ❤
As someone who tried my hand at music composition and production years ago (with mixed success), I wish breakdowns such as these were available back then! This is so inspirational - I’m now itching to get back to it. Thank you! Please post more breakdown videos like these!
FIrst time i heard the song, i instantly loved it but knew that it was loaded. There was so much to unpack and this is why I had to play it over and over again!
This was such an interesting breakdown video. Thank you for uploading it. I love the song. The animated MV is amazing as well. Top tier work from everyone involved. *GJ* Greetings from *Canada.* 👋🏻 Happy New Year.
Hey Karan, thank you so much for this breakdown. There is so many going on I wasn't even aware of. (Not pretending to understand everything mentioned) Much appreciated! See you in March!
Wow, what a surprise to kick off the new year with this gem of a video! 🔥It’s amazing to see how you bring your ideas to life with such depth and creativity. It really makes me appreciate the art behind the music even more.True legend. Wishing you and the band a massive success with your 2nd Album #NUDELHI. Have a fantastic year ahead Karan 🖤🤘🏼
Wow, that was awesome, Karan. Thank you for this. I would indeed love to see more. What this reminded me of more than anything is why AI will never be the same as the human mind. Maybe that's wishful thinking on my part. In any case, I love the creativity of this song, and your explanations helped me understand a lot more.
Absolutely awesome stuff, Karan - being able to 'see behind the curtain' gives me an even deeper appreciation for the talent and skill you guys have. Please, more! :D
Absolutely relentless song. I'm a huge fan, esp of Vishesh's drums and this is one of the songs where it's ever present. More drum rhythm songs please!
Love this breakdown and seeing some of the extra tracks you have that might not be so obvious on the first listen. Fantastic song, had it blasting on my workout this morning haha
This was such a nice video to watch having enjoyed the track so many times these last few weeks 🙏 You guys working together with Babymetal was the collaboration we never knew we needed. Best new metal song for real 🤟😎👌
Very informative video, thank you for your incredible work! We - as a music project that also tends to be a synth-heavy - can learn a lot from your music. Just recently I came to the similar way to double guitar tracks with some dirty or distorted synths, and that's nice to see that I'm already doing it in a right way - soon enough we'll have some new songs with that technique. Also I've been thinking about to make a synth playthrough of Bekhauf (or maybe even a TH-cam cover - will see), and now from your video I can clearly see all the remaining aspects I could've miss from the hearing (like strings section in the first chorus) and that's awesome! Once again my respect to you and good luck on your further way! And with your inspiration I also wish someday we'll be enough experienced and known to play a feat with you :)
Thanks, this was instructive. I think that part where Moa and Momo sing really grounds the song; it was full throttle forward up to that point and it gives the listener a chance to breathe. Good choice.
I'm not a musician, just a coder. This gave me a great look into how much thought goes into music - especially with such an excellent example. Thank you!
This is the kind of stuff that the age of music and the Internet was created for. Please do more breakdown videos dude, this is the stuff dreams are made of!
Amazing breakdown! Really appreciate you giving us this insight into how the track was made. So many cool elements coming together to create an awesome song.
My god bro's out here giving us a master class for free. Who does that man, everyone tries to gatekeep their shit. Respect!
And with such depth and attention to detail...
Crazy how a song can be that complex with mutiples layers and just sound that great, this is a masterpiece and you are the genius behind it, thank you !
Thank you! Most of these layers only make themselves apparent once you remove them.
@karankatiyarBW I can hear some of them now thanks to your breakdown and it makes the listening experience even greater ☺️
This song deserves a grammy, a nobel and an oscar.
As someone with zero music theory knowledge, this breakdown was awesome-it really helped me appreciate such a multi-layered banger of a song!
Hi Karan!! That dissonant note was actually one of my favorite things about this song. I appreciate the balls it took to incorporate a note that could have been off-putting, but your compositional skills shine once again and make it awesome!
Thanks so much AGD! I still smile every time I see your supportive comments on reaction videos to our music!
Goodness gracious. I thought I was the only one looking out for AGDinCA's comments in the reaction vids. But its also the main dudes...how insanely awesome is that?! 😀
@kanzerace Believe me, I am thoroughly flattered!

Dope! Could not have made a better choice. I wish my table was into heavy music now. 😅
Excellent thank you, that was truly fascinating.👏
excellent content Karan-Metal, Can you tell us if SU, MOA, and Momo liked seeing themselves animated, because we have wanted a Anime for them for a long time. Hopefully seeing your great animation of them will provoke them to make their own Anime.
I'm hoping they did! I've only spoken with Koba and we haven't discussed the video at all.
@@karankatiyarBW that's cool, thanks for responding, I really love "Bekauf" and I hope you can collaborate with BABYMETAL again in the future.
Loved this entire breakdown. The way your mind works around building any song is insane and I wish I have your knowledge. Thank you for sharing this breakdown!
This was awesome, fascinating, and very informative! I'd love to see a breakdown for Nu Dehli as well.
I'm glad you enjoyed the breakdown! Nu Dehli is a bit of a beast so that one might have to wait a while.
I'd love to see that too
That was great, thank you so much. Listening to such a busy song for an untrained ear it's really hard to notice the details.

This note was exactly what hooked me up to this song in the first place. No typical chord progression but some surprise! That's what I love!

Great stuff as usual, the Bloodywood stuff has inspired me a lot so videos like these are so fun.
Thanks for sharing your process, it really helps to learn a couple things ✨
You using reaper has made your band even more op for me than it already was. Phenomenal work.

Imma gonna listen to this track in such a different way from now on. Damn right. This was a great breakdown, fun and entertaining material. Cheers!

Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant!!!
Great job. I will always have a place in my heart for this song ❤
Thank you so much for sharing, this was a brilliant deep dive!
love the geeky stuff, Karan ♥️
Absolutely relentless song. I'm a huge fan, esp of Vishesh's drums and this is one of the songs where it's ever present.
More drum rhythm songs please!
That was gold, thank you so much for posting.
Karan, this video is absolutely incredible , Loved this breakdown, Do more of these breakdowns , BLOODYWOOD 🙌
Love this breakdown and seeing some of the extra tracks you have that might not be so obvious on the first listen. Fantastic song, had it blasting on my workout this morning haha
Genius man. So many nuances. Love it.
This was such a nice video to watch having enjoyed the track so many times these last few weeks 🙏 You guys working together with Babymetal was the collaboration we never knew we needed. Best new metal song for real 🤟😎👌
