It is well known that cutting weight is a direct negative impact on fighters conditioning which is directly related to their chin and ability to take a shot. Its not about what you rehydrate to its about making the weight. Losing that much weight takes something out of you. Its not why haney lost the fight but it was an unfair advantage for ryan. It is well known that cutting weight is a direct negative impact on fighters conditioning which is directly related to their chin and ability to take a shot. Those last 3 pounds for Garcia are much harder for ryan than Haney, he's a naturally bigger guy. All we kept hearing was “this fight shouldn’t be sanctioned” “Devin is going to murder him” “Ryan is a C+ fighter with a good name” “skills pay the bills” and even more media members were more confident of their pick once Garcia missed weight because it showed lack of discipline and focus in the fight. When stuff doesn’t go your way all of a sudden you hear the excuses.
