I realize that this is not a recent video, but as a newbee to airbrush, this is a game-changer. Not covered in the books I have looked at or the other videos I watched, so THANK YOU!
thanks for the info :D I'm new to airbrushing and noticed that using my thumb appears to be more comfortable and precise for me. Still going to try your way too, because it is what I've seen others do.
While I always encourage others to try new and different things, just because you see others doing something different doesn't mean you should change. There are very few hard and fast rules that shouldn't be broken when it comes to airbrushing. Try it and see what you think, but if you get better results using your thumb I would continue using your thumb. We're all a little bit different. Find what works for you!
Thanks for this great video. I picked an airbrush for the first time about a month ago now so I'm very much trying to find my feet with it. With that said its addictive and therapeutic and love to watch you guys working on your projects and picking up hints and tips and being inspired. Looking forward to seeing more videos like this. Thank you.
great advice! when I'm airbrushing very fine details and I'm concentrating on the artwork, I still have to remind myself to relax my grip on the airbrush from time to time :)
iv only just started and cant seem to find a comfortable grip. feels like im holding a pen really awkwardly, i have my thumb and top thing both touching the trigger atm so i cant control the air to paint ratio better but it just dosnt seem right
It takes some practice to find a comfortable grip that works for you. Sometimes it comes down to the size of your hand as well. Larger hands can be more difficult to find a comfortable position with a gravity fed brush. If that's the case, you might want to try a siphon fed or a side feed brush instead.
Actually this video made me change my grip, i had sooo much trouble finding a good (relaxed) grip. Haven't actually tried to paint with it yet tho but the moment i tried it (sitting with my airbrush in front of the screen) i felt "damn finally find it" :) Thanx man, love from Sweden!
