Been trying to make myself learn to skate switch. It really does feel like learning to skate all over again but harder. Like asking a right handed guitar player to learn to play with their left hand
Exactly what I needed. Thank you! Been learning switch pushing for quite some time now and it's been pretty difficult. What are some of your favourite places to ride in NYC that don't have a lot of (or any) car traffic and are fairly flat?
Uhhh, usually central and prospect park (but they’re both hilly), or like west side expressway bike lane, or belt parkway bike lane. The bridges are cool. And also the boardwalks in coney, far rock, and SI. I mainly skate bike lanes and local roads in Staten Island. Some cars, some hills, some carless, some flat. It can be a struggle lowkey. If you really want car free flat routes, check out the Empire State trail upstate, or any of the Rail Trails in Jersey.
@@linpaul hey thank you so much! the empire state trail sounds like a perfect place to explore, i've been on it on my bike once and the part that's just above van cortlandt was pretty beat up, but i think i'll just venture out a bit further next time. also step 1 from your instruction is pretty tough, i forgot how much time it takes to build up strength in the standing leg. seems like this is something i'll just have to brute force until balance/strength improves. the goal is to be able to push with either leg with equal levels of comfort :)
As a goofy regular pusher, I tried this once and it was an instant 'nope..!' 😅 But I do like your advice to practice first up a slight incline 👍👍 Plus Supersonics rule ❤
This is the best systematical instruction i have found on TH-cam.👍🏻
