- About time I can watch it. Is it just really rare? Was it cancelled? Could it be this is just so unpopular nobody's bothered to look into it? Thought to be lost, I cover an anime nobody's seen clips of, or even screenshots of in 30 years. Kenny lauderdale takes a look at a sukeban anime so rare that even a single clip of it has never surfaced online. Found anime is rare, so we're lucky this wasn't forgotten forever. I also cover the circumstances surrounding this delinquent series & it's relation to sukeban deka & other 80s anime of the time. Less of an anime review & more of a series overview & look into this piece of lost media. Lost media anime doesn't come along often, but when it does it's time to celebrate. Unlike saki sanobashi this actually exists & got found.

That Wikipedia article didn’t even spell the name right, so that makes it a half sentence of wrong information.
That’s one of the most important half sentences when trying to find it too!
Well in defence of that, it's a obscure Japanese Anime that doesn't have a English release written about on a website that anyone can edit. I say well done to that person who added it to even knowing that it existed.
@Shaman X As already said it's an obscure Anime, on a English website, probably written by someone who doesn't speak Japanese. Stop being a dick.

It's pretty sad how ignorant Japanese publishers are to preserving the accessability of old media. Most anime never got a rerun and a lot were never physically released and even IF they find their way online, they get taken down by copyright strikes immediately.
And the video game side of things isn't that much better a lot of the time lol. I get maybe they weren't anticipating that ppl decades later would WANT to watch/play their stuff, but still you'd think just out of principle or something preservation of stuff hard earned money, exhaustive work and skill (and hopefully passion) of a team of ppl went into
It’s not just Japan. Back in the day Monty Python’s Flying Circus was run on the BBC and was hugely successful. The BBC then wanted to get this, save money by reusing the tapes and recording new stuff over the whole show. Thankfully Monty Python themselves bought the tapes from the BBC before this could happen on one of the most iconic comedy series of all time would have been lost. It’s appalling how many shows may have been lost this way.

Now you just have me imagining Harrison Ford fist fighting otakus in some anime parlor over some holy grail VHS tape. Are you proud of yourself?
So who's the nazi in this field?
I feel bad for the animators who animate this lost anime.
@mdx well.. they do most likely. it takes such long hours and stress to make an anime so to have their efforts to be forgotten must sting a bit for some. It's kinda like when I work as a graphic designer and sometimes my work ends up not being used in the final product and even though I got paid, it still hurts lol
**laughs in 75% of ADV's library**
@mdx Ok nihilistic boomer
@mdx Are you okay? Did someone hurt you?
mdx sorry but
I think a lot of animators get attached to their work more so than the money they get from it.
I’m sorry you have such a bad attitude you might need to talk to someone about it.
We seriously need an anime museum for all those lost animes out there, once one is found it is to be recorded on modern mediums and the original tape put in glass display, in few decades some anime will be lost forever and might not be obtainable anymore.
Exactly.
There's just no demand for some things getting re-released. I didn't mention it because I found out AFTER, but even before the new asuka series they made another manga spinoff in 2018 called Blackmarket School Chronicles, so they had two chances within the last 2 years & still didn't bother releasing this.
@Maintenance Renegade Yep, I agree with that.
If we're lucky someone might even whip up some English subtitles. If that isn't what the Internet was made for then I don't know.
We don't need a museum, we just need to archive the footage of stuff like this online.
@Maintenance Renegade Hoping to see it on KissAnime in 2020. If it got so much attention for being rare from this one video, people will want to see it. Nobody cares about the copyright to this: they didn't even care enough to let it exist beyond a few videotapes 30 years back.
A ton of people watched "Twinkle Nora Rock Me" because of a meme, and it wasn't even good.

I'm a movie collector, and I share your joy at finding an impossible rarity.
I finally, after 15 years, found a copy of a musical movie that hasn't been released or exhibited since the early 1970's as it''s been the centre of an acrimonious copyright dispute between the studio that produced it, and the family of the composer of the original stage musical.
In another case, i spent ten years seeking before finding a copy of a movie that was thought to have been completely lost in a studio film vault fire.
Having the movie is only half the fun of collecting.
The hunt, and the final rush when the hunt is successful, That's a huge part of the enjoyment for me.
The longer the hunt, the bigger the rush of success.
Oh, and I found both the anime's subtitled on Nyaa in the 12 minutes I've been watching this vid.
Thank you for all your leg-work, it's GREATLY appreciated, One collector to another.
It wouldn't be available NOW if you hadn't put all your hard work into finding it for us.
Once found [if the film is free of copyrights] then it is VERY desirable that it be spread as far and as widely as possible into other collections so it can never be lost again.
Man, the dedication you have for something you're not even sure how good it is.
Thanks for all the work for this one, Kenny. Interesting visuals, somewhat similar to some of mid series City Hunter episodes.
The situation of this one reminds me of the 1990 Zipang movie. Seems everyone has the 97min version from Germany, a few people have the 119min Japanese release yet there has been no official release of the full movie. I have seen the full version and it runs 124min. I had thought I was remembering it wrongly until a friend of mine gave me a DVD copy of his VHS which is a 3rd or 4th generation copy off a VHS from Nippon Daido, back when they rented tapes and the closing credits cut off with maybe 30-40 seconds left to go so it runs 2 hours 3 min 10 sec (123min).
yeah, there's a shockingly small amount of info on movies like that. The language barrier is just too great most of the time, & even then you have to be in the know, or in this case, get extremely lucky.
Next you need to find the lost JoJo OVA from 2007.
It's a theatrical film, not an OVA.
OVA is an animation format, not a class of television serial.
Woah now I wanna find it
Thank you for your service.
Subscribed just because of your golden efforts.
Yankee/Delinquents is such a niche genre, but man, I love everything that comes from it. So... Thanks for covering vintage Delinquent anime, and sharing your thoughts on 'em! You've introduced me to stuff I'd never heard of, but am now obsessed with lol.
