The boat, owned by the engineer Berardi's mother, had been equipped on the steel hull that Navigarda used for goods transport. Over the years, no longer being used, the boat was loaned to the Toscolano Maderno water ski club and was moored there.
In August 1977 the local newspapers reported the news that the Dancing 2000 boat had been sunk, hypothesizing that the cause was a nightclub racket.
