I think the piegon at 9:26 looks like a combination of white and light sliver which is upnormal color mix similar to lemon but with the light delute silver coating rather than light delute yellow
That hermit cycle grizzle I think is one of the most beautiful homers I have ever saw is so unique nice man really nice 👌

Beautiful selection of birds
Add spread and indigo to your rec. opals. You will be amazed at the resulting color. Spread rec. opal is a medium gray with darker lacing on the feather edges, but with indigo added it lightens the bird almost pinkish with indigo lacing. I used a bar patterned opal when I did it, but I'm curious if check or t-check opal will have any different looking results.

Love the video I'm slowly starting to understand what you're talking about I have a loft with about 40 birds a few homers and tipplets and mostly rollers I really need to photograph each individual bird and maybe you could help me identify what is what and come up with a breeding process because my birds really aren't breeding well everyone said I would be overloaded with birds and I'm really not

This was great, thanks, I been tryin to find out about "distance pigeons for sale" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Hansaac Riyliver Scheme - (search on google ) ? Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my mate got excellent success with it.

I am guessing the mystery bird is an indigo. Perhaps heterozygous for grizzle, and maybe spread factor?
Similar to my theory, definitely spread factor.

Recessive red is my favourite one till now... my friend has a pair of recessive red hope u get a female too... that last one was white but has some silvery shine i dont know if its me or it really has that silvery shine ...

Hello Adam. Happy new year. I was advised by my friend who is qualified in animal and plant genetics that almond racing pigeons are poor race birds because of the ST gene that causes poor eye sight. I am told that qualmond race birds are excellent race birds.

Are you breeding, primarily to breed rare and unusual colours or do you also train and race any of your birds?
They are all for racing, the coloured birds are tested in racing just as much as the blue pigeons. I don't only keep colours, I also have a whole loft of regular coloured champion race birds, I just don't show them off much in the videos.

I think that white looking bird at the end you mentioned is a Blue from what I can see
He is definitely blue based, and definitely homozygous spread too. That much is certain.

What's the growths on some of their noses/beaks? They look painful.
It is their cere, they grow continually throughout their life and can get quite large on older pigeons. It isn't a "growth", in the same way as your nose isn't a "growth", it's a normal part of the body and doesn't cause the pain.

Do you have a family of pigeons? Obviously having all these different birds you can tell they aren't one or maybe two bird strains eg janssens, busschaerts, etc
My race birds are mostly Staf van Reet based - and I carefully bring the colours in, trying not to mess up the racing genetics too much. It isn't hard when you've put in the effort to learn how genetics work.
@@AdamArcherPigeons yeah the van reet pigeons are great, a man named mark cauldwell in the UK has the best van reets in the world, personally I wouldn't introduce any pigeons with no racing background into pigeons that we want to compete with, there is no strengthening the bloodline at all with that in my opinion but what you are doing is interesting and I shall be keeping and eye on how the young fair in the basket for you.

Thanks - I'm confident with my breeding, because I'm very careful with how I add my crosses, and Ive spent years studying pigeon genetics so that I can bring colours into the birds with the minimal negative impact. Some are easier than others though.
Could the mystery colour be Dilute Blue Barless Milky? It’s very unusual 👍
I know for sure it is homozygous spread, and blue base colour. Most likely not carrying dilute or reduced.

Hi Adam. your mytery pigeon is called "Laveder" in the us! A friend of mine has Wone the first place in a show in Watsonville CA with tis colour for a coupple years a go, you use true black with no red presence to dilute certain colours.
It's not, actually! It is a recessive opal spread with some other gene smoothing out the colour.

What’s the difference between almonds and grizzles
Genetically they're entirely different genes. In practice, almond switches on and off colour production, grizzle creates "grizzling" in the feathers.
