You guys make amazing content *and* products! I've been inspired to add HDPE craft to my list of skills. My first attempt resulted in a very smooth, fairly strong blob 🙄. But it was a successful proof-of-concept. I plan to try and grind it down and re-melt it into something useful, or at least pretty. My red and blue (Folgers and Maxwell House) coffee canisters didn't yield the marbled effect I was trying to emulate from your videos, but I'm hopeful more experience in the twist and fold maneuver will show improvement!

I'm wondering if maybe y'all have ideas on how to refine a technique that I so very much want to work for turning HDPE. I was making a dust port adapter of a size that doesn't exist, so I turned the inside diameters and a transition out of wood (just scrap pine), melted HDPE and wrapped it around the mandrill. Waitied for it to cool, then turned the outside diameters. The problem: the plastic shrank around the mandrill, and I had to soak it in soapy water, then chisel out, the mandrill. Other than that problem, this was really nice, both in the amount of waste plastic and how little effort it would have been, had there been no chiselling. What do you think???

Just a side note, I think one of the reasons why you guys have had a lot of success is because you focus on plastic. Yes, most woodworking tools are great for plastic but mixing the two is more hassle than anyone ever shows. Haven't y'all noticed that most Woodworkers will make one thing out of HDPE and then never touch it again? Honestly it's the same thing with wood and metal. You can mix them but people tend not to.
I know this could take years but I think plastic working.. or as I call it, Plasseintry.. needs to building a suite of tools and techniques as if it's a separate craft. Because it is.
