    NOTE⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️
Since filming this video we've had two issues with the Roof Top Tent.
    1. The glue used to hold the insulation and carpet lining on the roof is of poor quality and didn't take long to fall down.
    2. We've had water leak through on two occasions when driving Into rain, but only from the front.

Mine was from the late December batch and has leaked in a number of places also came out of the box with the roof 30 to 40mm out of alignment with the base. It is a fantastic design but shit execution. Hopefully they can get it right in the months or years to come. Im getting a refund and will wait till they iron out all these issues

@@TM-fd3fs yeah that's pretty spot on, has the potential to be a great product but it seems they've just rushed it through the production line to get it out into the world, and now it's got a number of issues. It looks like a on updated version of the tent has come out, May be fixing a few of these issues but now they've jacked the price up by another $300. Let's hope it's worth it!

No troubles mate happy to help. Its definitely not what you want having those issues in a new tent which is pretty unfortunate. I have heard that they paused production and have changed the glue, so I'll be having a look at that, I'm not sure if they've done anything about the water however.

The problem I have with them is the 88.5kg weight. That doesn't leave much real estate given most roofs are rated at 100kg max. I was thinking of buying one to upgrade from the Kings Tourer as a friend recently bought one of these clam shell tents. First camping trip, strong winds didn't give him a good night sleep and the zippers rattled all night. He cut off the tabs on the zips and put cable tie loops there instead. Have you tried it in wind yet?

Hey mate, yeah we had it down on a week long trip in Esperance recently and got a good feel of how things go with the tent. I actually found that the tent held up well in the wind (but not the shade awning). I Think we did a few things to combat the effect of the wind, like pointing the hardshell to the wind to shelter the canvas. We also had the windows open a fair bit which allowed the canvas to rest close to the zippers, which probably stopped them from rattling. Overall I was actually pretty stoked with how it all went over that trip.

@@makingtracks4x468 great to hear mate! I've been looking at the quickpitch version, which has the clamshell as the roof rack, (so no need to fit both). We bought our kwiky from a supacentre distributor in Perth, so the warranty process was really easy because they changed it over then and there when they saw the cracks. Thanks for the vid.
How sturdy is the unit itself. Is the lid flimsy and likely to be affected by wind?

G'day mate, we had it up the other night while overnighting in Toodyay and it was pretty windy throughout the night, but it held up well, made less noise than the kwiky did.
Pretty confident the side and roof railings are aluminium.
When we mounted it the box was put on the roof and we took it home. We just unboxed it on the roof, rotated to face the right way, then one of us held a side up while the other slid the bolts in, which is held down at 4 points across the roof rack. I thought it was going to be a lot harder but turned out to be alright.
