Benkei Lore: There was an old show back in the day about a samurai named ushijima i believe and his right-hand man was named Benkei. It's a cultural reference more than anything.

So, a little bit about Benkei. As Ushijima Wakatoshi nicknamed as Ushiwaka (a real historical Samurai, also known as Miyamoto no Yoshitsune), Hinata give Leon nickname as Benkei (also real historical Samurai who was retainer of Ushiwaka).
Nb: little info for Prez, Whitebeard was based on Benkei. Looked from his stature, strength, weapon and how he die (Yes Benkei die standing).
