The ultimate 90s Yankee potpourri scent was Home Sweet Home. That candle brings me back. I'm a Sweater Weather lover. I will decorate for fall, and burn my first fall candle, on Sept 6, the 1st day of school.
Can't wait for summer to be over so the fall melting/burning can commence! Also your scentsy fall hauls are always a favorite!! :) This is like the first year where my eye allergies haven't been the absolute worst. From the moment I would wake up my right eye was so puffed along the lash line I couldn't even put on eyeliner! I try to always keep a bottle of those allergy eye drops on hand. Life saver!! Love that Sea Breeze scent from Kringle. Clean and fresh! :)
You definitely need to try the new welcome to imagination land scentsy bar from the inside out collection. It’s basically the exact same fragrance as B&BW raspberry rosé from the summer collection. I’m so glad I didn’t go crazy at SAS like I wanted to over that scent, now I can just keep the inside out bar in my club!!
My mother had a little crock pot type thing in the 90’s for potpourri instead of simmering on the stove. I agree with a previous comment that Yankee’s Home Sweet Home is potpourri smelling and to me so is their Autumn Wreath, Harvest, and Kitchen Spice fragrances which are still available. In the fall I usually have at least a couple of those fragrances in wax melts or scenterpiece cups for nostalgia of it.🍂🍎
Poor thing. I hope you find a Dr to help with your eyes. I am literally burning the LAST of my Homeworx spring/summer candles, Apricot Sage. It's so fresh but fruity at the same time. I have a couple more summer scents laid out for the beginning of August and have already pulled out my apple fragrances. I CANT WAIT for your decorate with me series. I look forward to it each year. It gets me in the spirit of fall and the holidays.
I understand about the watery eye/ sensitive to light / blurry vision. Ive had an astigmatism in my left eye since I was around 4, right after I started school. It’s a lazy eye. I truly think it stems from when I was around one years old, I climbed up my moms dresser to get her big round container of the loose facial powder, you remember the kind with the poofy applicator you put on your face? The dresser had these crazy handles that came out so far and I put my little feet on them and when I grabbed the container it went tumbling all in my eyes. I screamed and cried of course and everybody ( my mom, dad, brother, and aunt) came running in and held me under the running water in the bathroom sink. I remember opening my eyes and seeing everyone looking down at me with worried faces and gaping mouths 😂 it’s crazy how you can remember things at such a young age. I was barely walking then but I think you can remember traumatic events at any age. Anyhoo, once I started school and was reading a lot my left eye would get blurry and cross, It would water, light would.me bother it. I had to get glasses at age 5. This was back in the day in 1980,81?….. when they didn’t have these cute little kid glasses that they have now so I didn’t wear them like I should. When I was younger my left eye only bothered me when I was really tired. But since I’ve hit perimenopause, that left eye gets real blurry and waters at any given time, light will bother it at random times, and along with facial hair, I’ve also now got eyelashes growing in the inside corner of my eyes which is real fun to deal with in pollen season…. They get so gunky in the corner. 🤷🏻♀️ what are ya gonna do right? But enough rambling about me, I hope you get some relief with your eyes!! 🙏 Also another side tangent , what color blue is that behind you? I’ve been wanting to ask you for the longest time. I think it’s such a pretty shade of light blue and we’re remodeling our spare bathroom and I think that color would look beautiful in there! Oh my gosh that sounds so traumatic!!! I remember a couple of very early things from my childhood that were super traumatic. But oddly enough I have trouble remember good things from back then. Just goes to show you how the bad stuff really sticks with you, doesn't' it? The color is Wedgewood Gray from Benjamin Moore but color matched at Sherwin Williams. That matters as their base paint is a very different white and will result in your color looking different depending on which one you go with. Sometimes I wish I would have stuck with the Benjamin Moore paint as I think I like the original better myself.
Salted Maple Pumpkin is blended beautifully. No one note is overpowering and the whole thing just works. I also noticed a buttery note. Pumpkin Rum Toddy is really good too. I've only burned it once, but it is fruity and spicy and super yummy. I get YC Autumn Wreath vibes from this one, but this has more citrus coming through.

Speaking of eyes, I'm nearsighted, and that means my eyes will naturally exacerbate and dwindle in the future years, I'll be getting some vision problems when I'm older. Just anticipating that. I'll be 44 in September and the unfortunate reality of getting bi and tri focal glasses doesn't sound great when becoming an elder is apparent. Hope you can find a great doctor. Best of luck. Oof that sounds extremely irritating. I hope your eyes get better! I took something called accutane last year to finally rid myself of my lifelong hormonal acne. Which was amazing and completely stopped the constant new blemishes i would get every day of my life! However accutane dries you out completely. It's the oddest thing. You don't sweat or get oily hair ever and you get dry as the dessert so your eyes fight against that by over secreting so ever since then my eyes are always running. Im hoping it ends one day 🙏🏻 Honestly you cant tell from here. You look very pretty :)
I’m the same way with fall. I’ll start to transition come mid August even though in SoCal it’ll still be 100 degrees. My kids go back the first week of august so that’s usually the signal of the end of summer for me. If I waited till the weather changed, it’d be October before I could start fall smells. lol! I just pretend it is cool outside and it helps me get through the rest of the horrid hot season.
I’m sorry about your eye. Gotta love perimenopause and menopause! 😒🙄 my eyes water when I get in the car in the AC and it almost always ruins my makeup. 😤 it’s so annoying! I'm curious to know your thoughts once you melt Berry Bubble Blue. I forgot to add it in my last order to try it out. If it's a good performer, I may throw it in my club instead of Berry Bright. Berry Bright may be hard to beat though.
I did try the BBB and for me on cold it smelled like plastic. But it did smell better when warming. It smelled like a sweet sugared blueberry. It was nice and present, but not overly strong for me. It was the one I was most excited about when I saw the releases, but I will not be clubbing it.
