I love Naomi Scott in this! She was incredible! Her performance is one of my favorites all year, it was Oscar worthy! I felt her anxiety and I felt like I was going insane with her. She did a sensational job in her role! I wasn’t expecting to love this film as much as the first one, which I already loved. This sequel is way better than the first one IMO. If the acting was too over the top or not over the top enough, the movie would fall flat. Even the actor for the beginning scene. You could see in his face that the person who he was, 6 days ago, has been shattered. My fav performance of hers in the movie is one of the smallest things she does. When the demon first starts to come out of her, she does this sort of guttrul laugh and half smiles and then shakes her head no real quick before screaming. Really shows how broken the demon made her, how fucked up eveything is that's happening.
In the closing credits you hear a Sky Riley song transition into Sky repeatedly screaming and the screams sound like laughter. Walking out of the theater to that was sooo unsettling.
When rileys mom came to her apartment, gemma said hi and her mom pretended she wasnt there... cause she wasnt. It would be weird to her mom ignoring gemma since she was the one that suggested riley to contact her in the first place. Thats one of the big clues

I didn’t think the first could be beaten but WOW! And this actress was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! What an amazing actor!!! She should receive awards for this performance but sucks that the academy doesn’t acknowledge horror when this is one of the best performances I’ve seen.

She said at the end you keep sending me these weird text. What did the star send her? 1 was the pic of the guy trying to help her. So those two will play some part in the 3rd movie for info and set up.
I made a suggestion to my coworker saying they should get Willem Dafoe as Green Goblin as Normal Osborn, smiling, as a gag and jump scare. He thought for a moment and replied, " you know I'm something of a 'smiler' myself."
EXCELLENT REACTION! The first one was a fantastic movie, but it was really sad and tragic, just seeing that woman degenerate and spiral down. In Smile 2, extremely sad also, but the movie also injected some horror 'fun' as well. It was a great sequel which I daresay is better than the first one (without taking anything away from Smile 1). There was also some dark horror-humour too in this one which was part of the fun. I love that the storytellers chose a young celebrity going through trauma and substance abuse, a really fantastic take on something which im sure what direction it would have gone in after the first one. The mom (demon) at the wellness clinic did say “ We are going to stay here together until we head to the venue tomorrow …” And she did not lieeeeee everything after her passing out in her apartment is a hallucination till the concert. Even scary demon her at the end that said “break a leg out there” was like “ lol this isn’t real”
My theory is that once he takes the driver seat of your brain, the demon leaves you in a false world stasis while it uses your body to nail down the next host in that week window. Once he does, he does his captain Genyu thing 😆 🤣
Im pretty sure once the smile dance crew lead put the arm in her mouth, she was fully put in the backseat and the demon had full control from then on. The demon is petty as all hell. Gives room 1408 entity a run for its money on levels of pettiness.
Youre right. Seems like everytime they have their mouth invaded the demon fully enters. Must've put her in auto pilot to carry out its plan and get her on stage in front of thousands. Then left long enough to torture her one last time. Then re-entered and did the business. Crazy movie.
The entity was more relaxed until she came into contact with Morris, once it knew it actually had a possibility of being stopped it locked in hard, it is also speculated that Morris was never real, giving Skye false hope early on to rip it away later.

I am glad people are reacting to this one now because sadly when I saw it in the theaters there were so many things happening behind me in the audience that pissed me off and just took me out of the tention that I was meant to feel so I sadly I wasn't able to appreciate it the way it should have been and I foud myself a bit bored. Neomi is an amazing actress and singer so her pulling this off doesn't surprise me, my trouble even now is that all those around her exept for the actress of Gemma said their lines in ways that just seemed off to me some how and I don't know it just feels like the actors were having trouble connecting to what they were meant to say. I do love how this movie messes with your mind and twists it around to make it seem like it is happening when it really isn't. Personally I think that the moment the so called dancers put their hand down her throat from that moment on nothing else was real because Smile was able to infect her mind but not fully yet because she wasn't broken down enough at that time. Honostly the way they made Smile look here bothers me because what the hell is up with that baby face? It just looks ridiculas to me and so unfitting for the moment. That ending though was so unexpected and yes the part where she rips herself open was gory and shocked me but the moment they showed what it looked like I was just laughing cause like I said that baby face it has is just so not fitting to me. Any way grate reaction as always and to me at least the first one will always be my favorite not because of the way it was done cause this one was done well too but because of how the first one really shows the idea that those who are mentally ill are not always to blaime for their actions because the illness is like a monster in their mind that they can never trully escape and I think the first movie did a good job showing that unike here.
Everything else up until she woke up in the rehab center was real- pretty sure from there her mind was taken over and she was controlled by the entity, similar to how Lewis said he didn’t remember texting Skye, didn’t remember her coming in- etc. At least that’s what seems to be the case without invalidating the entire rest of the movie and pulling the annoying ‘it was all in their head!’ Trope where the ENTIRE movie was fake. Loved this sequel personally, my new fave horror movie tbh
I cant grasp it cause she earlier says she's not wearing the outfit she wears in the finale scene so that means that scene also wasn't real...its hard to grasp a timeline.
When she grabbed the steering wheel causing the crash killing her man it would lead for her to be Smiled at. If the authorities ever found out that she grabbed the steering wheel she'd be in jail which was probably where she was better off. Sweet Jesus she was an idiot but oh well she got her commupance
