Not everyone in the "after life" is equal to the Angels. Only those raised in the 2nd resurrection of dead people and are found in the book of life.
Paul tells us (the Body of Christ Church) that we judge, or rule over the Angels. 1 Corinthians 6:3 which is why we are raptured up and Israel is raised and gathered on earth when Christ returns to earth.

For the Word states many are the afflictions of the righteous... Speaking the TRUTH is a must for a man called to speak the Gospel... Many are called but few are chosen... The calling of the Gospel is not education degrees... The Word declares That no one can come to JESUS unless the FATHER Draws them. These people are not saved... A mortal man cannot tell anyone they are saved,.... Enter in through the narrow way...

Good for you, Jacqueline. I was 7 when I was baptized Catholic, but when I was 8, I went to a Baptist church with my cousin. That is where I met Jesus and got saved. THEN, when I was 25 and was about to get married, we went to a small Baptist church...ended up being baptized under full immersion (since I had learned that THAT was proper). My husband was baptized, too. Years later (abt 10)...my 8 y.o. son was baptized. Now he's 24. We also were blessed with a daughter, both our kids were THE BEST! The same didn't happen for her tho....idk why. Now she's 23...I pray she meets a man of God! ❤

Even in the Garden of Eden Adam and Eve had conditional immortality.
2 conditions, they had to eat from the tree of life and they had to refrain from eating from the tree of the knowledge, knowing good from evil.
It was Satan who like this fellow said " you shall not surely die"

Hello from Lenorah Texas, I just had a quick question. The verses from Luke Ch 20, 34-36 that Preacher Allen decided to recite from, does Jesus not form a conditional statement when answering the Sadducees? Part of the statement was even underlined in the video but was only read over. "The children of this world marry and are given in marriage: but they which shall be (accounted worthy) to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry nor are given in marriage... Emphasis was only given to the latter half of Jesus' statement regarding the worthy being equal to angels and no longer dying. My question is what awaits the unaccounted/unworthy? If we only take the couple of verses in Luke, then one might assume Jesus didn't believe in an immortal soul. Reasoning that if the worthy are given a new world, resurrected from the dead, no longer marrying, no longer dying, and are equal to the angels; then the unworthy are none of those things nor have been given any of those things. I'll admit I lean more towards annihilationism, but I'll also admit I enjoy Pastors that have handy knowledge and good stories as well.

@Shimmering Shadow I don't think he is gonna respond, he strawmanned the conditional immortality stance in the first video.
It doesn't seem like he wants to grow in Christ, just defend Dogma.
I don't have a firm stance on this issue yet, both sides have fairly good points..

@Travis Sharon I don't have an opinion either way, just wanted to understand more.

    • @travissharon1536
      @travissharon1536 ปีที่แล้ว

@Shimmering Shadow There's a lot of good resources out there on this subject. I would lean towards conditional immortality, except there's one verse in Revelation that makes it seem like the punishment is eternal. There are several verses that make it seem like Hades is gonna seem like a long time for all who are punished, but when the day of the Lord comes existence will end for those who don't chose to be in the presence of the Lord.

    • @allennolan655
      @allennolan655 ปีที่แล้ว +3

This is not a conditional statement in the Greek, it's a statement of fact. First of all, a complete conditional sentence consist of two clauses: the protasis and the apodosis. Secondly, the question the Sadducees asked would only apply to those worthy to inherit the kingdom to come (saved). Life with all of the perks will not continue on for those who are to suffer eternal punishment. From a Jewish perspective, of course the eternally damned won't marry or be given in marriage, so it was a moot point. I hope this helps. Watch sermon 3 (to come) and it'll answer most of your questions about the immortality of the human soul. Sermon 2 was just the foundation for sermon 3.

God knows the future. Why would God allow a person to be born in the first place knowing he is going to ultimately torment them FOREVER? That would mean most of mankind is created to be objects of torment FOREVER. This is not a question of sending ourselves to hell but the fact that God has foreknowledge of who he will torment FOREVER. Is it really loving, merciful, forgiving, or just to torment a person for eternity? NO!
    Annihilationism perspective:
    ● They will die (Romans 8: 13).
    ● They will perish (John 3: 16).
    ● They will vanish (Psalm 37: 20).
    ● They will be no more (Psalm 104: 36).
    ● They will be destroyed (Matthew 10: 28).
    ● They will burn completely up (Luke 3: 17).
    ● They will be consumed (Hebrews 10: 26-27).
    ● They will be reduced to ashes (2 Peter 2: 6).
    ● They will be like smoke that vanishes (Psalm 68: 2).
    ● They will be like water that flows away (Psalm 58: 7).
Revelation 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second DEATH! Not second LIFE in eternal torment! Death IS eternal punishment!

So much deception here, preacher, that had to put you on mute.
Thanks for incorporating Plato’s pagan immortal soul into Christianity. You make Augustine proud. “You shall surely not die!”
Let me ask a question: when it comes to the eternal torment of humans, who benefits? it can’t be the humans being tormented. Perhaps it’s Satan? So the biggest sinner of all gets his own kingdom where he torments humans. That doesn’t make any sense either.
    It can only be God.
Do you really want to continue to attribute evil to God?
The immortal soul is no where taught in the Bible. We are breathing creatures (Gen 2:7) If we want immortality it has to be giving to us as a gift at the resurrection of the dead. If we have an immortal soul, we do not need a resurrection of the dead. Why would we? The saved “put on immortality” at the resurrection as Paul clearly says. He also clearly says that the wages of sin is death.
You say “death is not really death but separation” but this is not true. Pay attention to these personal pronouns: YOU shall surely die. From dust YOU came, to dust YOU shall return.” And to prove his point He placed the angel with flaming sword at the entrance to Eden to prevent Adam and Eve from the Tree of Life, lest the they “live forever.” God kept Adam and Eve from living forever in a state of sin, which is EXACTLY what your pagan Hell would be!
And I’m tired of the JW argument. The Muslims believe the immortal soul, does that mean they’re right? The Egyptians did too. So did the Babylonians.
ANYONE who claims anything other than that God alone has intrinsic immortality does not know what they’re are talking about.
And by believing in the pagan immortal soul you deny God’s miracle of a resurrection from the dead.

As a final messenger of almighty Allah subhanatala, our beloved prophet Muhammad swa mentioned everything from Adam Alaihiwassalam to Abraham Alaihiwassalam, from Moses Alaihiwassalam to Jesus Alaihiwassalam. What has been warned through all prophets included in holy Quran. Since Allah subhanatala will not send no other messenger. The greatest miracle is that our beloved prophet Muhammad swa could not read and write, however he told everything. This was happened due to Angel Grabbiel (Jibrael), who conveyed all warnings of GOD to Moses Alaihiwassalm , Jesus Alaihiwassalm , Muhammad swa. Our beloved prophet Muhammad swa didn't convey any new things. He warned entire world that follow holy Quran, which contains everything from Adam to Jesus. Only an illogical person will create chaos without reading holy Quran

If we have an immortal soul, then the tree of life in the garden was totally useless. The myth of the eternal soul was popularized by Plato. Four hundred years after Christ, Augustine made it official and the Catholic church adopted it. (Augustine knew more about Plato than he did about the Bible.) The idea of the "eternal soul" violates Old Testament Scripture, because Solomon, Job, David, and Hezekiah stated that the grave was a place where there was no awareness.

The rebuttle to the Sadducees has no impact on annihilationism (especially conditional immortality) because the rebuttle is about Jews, who were understood to be saved. Not all Jews were saved, which was also loosely thought possible, but since conditional immortality is that only the saved are immortal and that specific illustrations is just about Jews pre-resurrection it doesn't carry weight for this topic.

@bufficliff8978. Read Matt 18:8. It’s better to go w/o hands and feet than to be tossed with them into everlasting fire. That is Jesus. Or Isaiah 66:24. “ for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched… “.

Where in the Bible does it say that God liberated women, we have looked for this saying and new law from God, but we just can’t find it anywhere in the Bible.
The Bible does not say that Jesus appeared to only women first after His resurrection, it says that He appeared to a group at the tomb. The women were sent by men 9their husbands) to finish the burial rites, because they ran out of time the day before, but men had to go along to roll the stone away, or the women would not be able to help with the burial rites. When Jesus talked to the woman at the well, he did not tell her that she was liberated, even though her husband sent her to the well to get water for the family. When Jesus forgave the whore for her evil sin, the Bible does not say that Jesus made her equal to any man. The assumption seems to be that Jesus made men and women equal once he was resurrected, where as Jesus did not tell any woman that she did not have to do what their husbands told them to do. The Bible does say that the man is the head of the woman and head of the house/home… There can not be two captains on any ship, train, plane, horse or car. The helper electrician does not circumvent the master electrician and just do anything his own way regardless of what needs to be properly done. In the 6000 years of Jewish history, it has never been written down that God liberated women and now they are equal to men. Yes, in the spirit realm all are equal before God as far as sins go, but that is talking about the spiritman, not the human body or the mind. QED

@charliejohnston1978. It does not say their husbands sent women to the tomb. It does not say that God made women subject to men. In Gen 3:16, if it wasn’t tampered with, which is a big if considering other parts are known to have been. It says that God was talking to Eve. It doesn’t say Eve and all female children ever born to Adam. Who added this thought which is not written?
Moses wrote the law after the Egyptian captivity, thousands of years after the garden. Mankind had already subjugated women. They were the Warriors. In our vernacular, they had the guns. Jewish scribes read the garden story and they also looked at the 10 Commandments and decided that if a commandment could be not to covet your neighbors wife, then your neighbor must own his wife as in property. And that’s where it came from. But it wasn’t new, just blaming it on God was.
Actually Jews were very Hellenized. And nobody was worse to women than Greeks. Unfortunately that Greek philosopher influence, like Aristotle and Plato, was absorbed right into the church. Aristotle believed that any birth that resulted in a woman was an error due to perhaps too much moisture in the wind. He called all women misbegotten.
Both the prophet Jeremiah and Ezekiel wrote that God says he will not punish children for the sin of the parent. He goes into great detail. The soul that sins dies. But those two prophets hadn’t written yet. What did Jesus say. Well Mary and Martha were entertaining Jesus and his disciples. Mary was sitting among the disciples being taught by Jesus. Martha demanded that Mary be made to help with the housework and kitchen work. Jesus said no. Mary had chosen the better part and it wouldn’t be taken from her. Except of course by the church.
And what about St. Paul, the rabbi, the Jewish rabbi. He said that there is no difference between Greek and Jew, male and female, slave and free. But clearly the church wasn’t ready for that, not just the Jews but the Greeks too. And Saint Paul was not ready to 16:52 try to change the world. His was not a social gospel. He believed the time was short and his job was to get the good news out. He even sent a slave back to face crucifixion without one word about the evils of slavery. And then of course there’s one Timothy 215 this is where it says that women will be saved in childbearing if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety. In other words The whole world is saved by grace and faith in the Lord Jesus and what he did for us except women. For them if they are lucky enough to get pregnant they are saved by childbirth provided the works of continued faith and charity etc. are added in. This is not the gospel that Saint Paul preached. It is in fact another gospel. And we all know what he said about that. I have read people who try to twist this and make out that it’s the Virgin Mary but even that doesn’t make any sense because the works are added.
Let’s look at verse 14 and Adam was not deceived but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. Saint Paul didn’t say that either. If you have two sons and you tell them not to eat the green apples and one son is confused about which is the green apple tree and is deceived by his cousin but the other son knows exactly what he is doing, doesn’t give two shakes for what you think, that’s what he wants, which one has the most guilt. Saint Paul was not stupid enough to say this..
Lastly look at verse 13… For Adam was formed first then Eve.… Look at the creation story: firstfirst came rocks and water, then fish, birds and reptiles, mammals, Adam, then Eve.When you look at the progression you know that being created before Eve is not a plus. Paul was a great debater. He would never leave himself open like this. A 10 year old could defeat this argument.
Last, did God really punish Eve? There was only one law in the garden. Don’t eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. The day you eat it you die. We all understand laws and punishment. If you kill somebody, premeditated cold-blooded murder, the state will take your life. We understand that. But there was no law about tempting anyone. Remember that all scripture says that God is good and just. So suppose in my state somebody committed a cold blooded murder and he goes up before the judge and the judge pronounces sentence-death. But, the judge continues, I’m going to add to that 15 beatings a day until the death penalty is carried out and I’m going to amputate your hands and you’ll be on bread and water. In my state his attorney would be jumping up and down. Wait a minute that is not in the statute. The statute said death and that penalty will be applied… And it was in Adam and Eve‘s case. How does a just judge inflict more penalties with no statute. I believe that God is GOOD and JUST. I believe Gen 3:16 was prophecy, not judicial punishment.
So how did it get the way it is in our Bible. The oldest copy of the old testament is actually in Greek. It’s the Septuagint dated about 300 BC. We know that the Septuagint was altered by rabbi Akiva in about 100AD because he did not want the Jews to believe in Jesus. Do we know if he added an omega at the end of a Greek word to change prophecy into judgement. These men were Pharisees. They already put their tradition above the word of God and we know that they changed the word of God. They deleted prophecies that showed Jesus was the messiah because they didn’t want the Jewish people to believe in him. Are they above changing something else?
Treating women like slaves was a cultural norm at the time of Jesus in Israel. In Greece and other gentile civilizations at the time women were thought to be about the level of cattle but not quite as smart. It is not a cultural norm here. Under the Bible Western civilization believes that mankind is created by God and each person has value? We have thrown out slavery And enforced servitude. I think it’s a good thing. That marriage should be a kingdom with males as kings comes straight from Greek philosophers like Plato.. Plato didn’t like democracy. Kings were his first choice followed by aristocracy. Democracy was next to bottom. I like our Democratic republic. I’m glad we through out slavery in the 1800s and it is time to get slavery out of the church. It is a very dark lot blot on it.
