Crazy she used to perform during lunch time concerts at school, dropped out and literally been killing it internationally ever since. Never forget her performance and her bouncy curly hair... shes amazing!
I do really think she’s extremely talented and influential in today’s generation. I can’t get over some music videos, like when I first watched Yummy with the biebs I didn’t really care for the song. Once I watched it with her dance group I was obsessed.
First time I saw her was in Justin Bieber' "Sorry" mv. And I was immediately captured. All the girls danced amazing but she stood out. Phenomenal. Unfortunately it wasn't until just a few minutes ago I found out she's a choreographer and that she choreographed that dance, "level up" dance and so many others I knew. She truly is an OUSTANDING CHOREOGRAPHER
The amount of talented artists and creative from New Zealand and Australia who have to leave their country to gain success is insane. We need to support our own!
@@lazyscorpion3889 yeah this conversation isn’t about who’s better it’s celebrating both nations. My family is from New Zealand and I was born in Australia. New Zealand don’t have nearly as many Oscar, Grammy or Olympic winners as Australian’s. So you’re wrong lol
When Parris G was up and coming, she did a free dance event at Wynyard Quarter and I watched from start to finish, my mind 💯blown. I said, “This lady is so incredible she’s gonna rule the dance world one day.” Think I was spot on!
This woman is amazing. Her vision is insane. I’m not all that big on dance. I’ve always been a two step kinda guy but she makes me appreciate the art like no other
I’ve been obsessed with her and her dance team since 2010 !!!! I remember seeing them perform at Body Rock in my hometown San Diego back in 2012 and I literally CRIEDDDD🥹🥹 I am a dancer myself and one of the shows I performed at in LA, I was shocked when I found out they also performed at the same show but they were the closing act 😱😱😱😱😱😱I love them so freaking much!
Y’all it’s so embarrassing lol if you look up Request Crew Body Rock 2012, I’m the girl jumping up and down in front of the camera 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 bahahahahahahahah
man this girl is such a beast and this interview is 2 thumbs up Parris you are so fantastic and just listening to you here has encouraged me even more. thank you. oh and great shoes and dress
What an OUTSTANDING human being and such an inspiration for WOMEN ! She is my SHEROE and I absolutely LOVE seeing her choreographies over and over again ! My husband is tired of my 70th time playing RihannaS Super Bowl 😅 I love you Paris ! Maybe one day I can dance with you as your back up Dan er ! 😅❤🎉
Ive always been super proud of her, and i know exactlt what she means about kiwis and the tall poppy syndrome. They like to cut u down in NZ if ur a woman esp. Look at Jacinda Adern, loved by the whole world bar a small vocal section of kiwis. Mysogenistic kiwi blokes.
Literally put Asia Pacific on the map and to receive such a weak audience applause and even weaker interviewer is indicative of what Parris said how winning the Emmy was for little Parris who did have the support of her community. Interview in my opinion was too short for such a star. The how questions would have been keen to hit.
@@WILLIS274MAD4JESUS She’s heavily influenced by Caribbean / African dancing. A lot of a her major dances are. I thought it was a black person choreography disappointed to see she has never made reference
@@Mel-kp7zh true she should focus on putting Polynesian artists on the map, I mean how dare she make the most famous dance crew in the world showcase African dance. There’s no pleasing some people 🙄

I experienced this in NZ. if you stand out, you may be faced with a lot of jealousy and envy on the part of your study and work colleagues, for example, and they work as a group to try to put you in the fridge. It’s weird. PS. I love NZ but I will not lie. Sorry.
Hopefully she doesn’t become the standard terrible choreographer out of Los Angeles where all the dance is so violent and doesn’t connect with the music at all - just acrobatics and no heart
This interviewer didn’t even do a DECENT job. Parris??? An over night success ???? Are you crazy ??? Next time let’s have an interviewer who knows about the person that’s sitting across from them and actually does the proper research. He didn’t know a thing about parris, she edits MOST of her work HERSELF and recorded it back in the day. Sorry to parris for such a bad interviewer.
He said “it may appear… that she’s an overnight success .” Not she is an overnight success. He asked her to describe her biggest challenges. A reasonable question.
Who ever said she was an overnight success??? For those who’ve been following her for over a decade know she works HARD!
So true. She has literally worked her ass off and still does!!!!!!
right!! And what I love about her she always bring her dancers with her.
i agree. im a witness of that.
Fan over 12years

Just too small
@@bluelantern9 not too small. Because songs can chart in Australia and New Zealand that don’t chart in the US. We have the means to support our own
I agree New Zealand is putting out so much talent
Like the break dance? These are all foreign kids with talent. Australia has no talent. It's immigrants that make a name for ya!

Did she choreograph for BP? Didn't KNOW IT. 😭

How come she never reference the Caribbean influence
Excellent question, all of her dance moves are influenced by African and Caribbean movements lol

alotta missed opportunities to ask follow up questions to make at least try and make it seem enjoyable for her
Typical Australian racist attitude towards New Zealanders.
What exactly did she expect in terms of "Community Support"? Especially in contrast to what other peoples are supposedly getting...
