Do we need a background in Payroll or Human Resources to study for and take the FCP? My experience has been limited to administrative, general office, and archivist, but I am looking to expand into other roles.
Hello, thank you for making the precise video on this topic. I have a question if I am working as tax analyst for US state tax in ADP, am I eligible to appear for CPP? Plesae suggest.
Hi! That's a great question. Some SHRM/HRCI certifications cover payroll in-depth and can apply to more than just the United States. For a payroll-focused option, I recommend: --BernieU's free HR course, Payroll Basics for Employers (www.bernieportal.com/payroll-basics-for-employers/) --Introduction to Payroll Accounting (alison.com/course/introduction-to-payroll-accounting#google_vignette) There are many options out there. A good course for US payroll will cover US tax forms, compliance requirements, technology options, reporting, and more. My best recommendation is to start with the basics, which you can do by reading this webpage on BerniePortal's website, "HR's Guide to Payroll". www.bernieportal.com/hr-guide-to-payroll/ Does this help? I am happy to provide more resources! Many HR professionals use BerniePortal's HR Party of One Community to ask questions, answer others, and learn more. If you have anything else to ask, I suggest heading there so we can show other HR professionals the answers. Join here: www.bernieportal.com/community/
Can you provide such guides for entry level candidates in HR other than payroll certification which might be other in HR departments such as training/performance etc?
