Agreed the team has played a lot better in front of Quick very loose in front of Igor last 3-4 games.
I know a lot of people don’t like the third jerseys but I think they look good on the ice and in action. Might have to grab one.

it would if the refs didn’t dictate the pace of the game, and called legitimate penalties.
I remember a few yrs ago when these teams played in the SCF the games were super close. It was a lot more competitive than the 4-1 series victory by LA would suggest.
@@Torgo1969 Yes it was. LA didn’t dominate that playoff run like they did their first. Lots of OT’s and tight games. The series could’ve gone either way, but LA found themselves on the right side of the puck more often than not.

@@Ck69420 calls in the third favoring the kings? are you kidding? the first two periods had five penalties with four of them against la, and all five penalties were soft. a couple make ups in the third didn’t change anything, because they still ended up giving the rangers a power play in the third when it should’ve been evened up. if la got the same treatment the rangers got them this game would’ve been tied going into the third. terrible offloading as usual.
it was night and day for the rangers compared to last night; played a thousand times better and looked much sharper. i’m not worrying about 7 total losses in nearly two months but i’d love to see them hold onto leads like this more often going forward. my only real complaint is i wish they would play as well for igor as they have been for quick. it’s true shesty hasn’t been himself lately but he’ll come out of his slump in due time and until then the team has to help him out more than they have been. other than that i’m thrilled with how this season’s started and can’t wait to see what happens come april-june 👀 LGR!!!

In the game against the caps he got beat from the same side by the same kind of shot at least 3 of the 4 goals. Idk what’s up, I know he had a kid right around the time after he won the vezina but he just hasn’t even had glimpses of playoff Igor, they gotta address what’s up
@@garybee858dumb take. We left quick once out on his own from a breakdown and there is always 5+ that Igor stops then lets one in. If the rangers played in front of quick like they do Igor it would be a whole different story
When i was a teenager, it was Mike Richter. Then Hank in recent years followed by Igor. Now one of my other favourite goalies of all time, Jonathan Quick, is wearing the colours of my beloved New York Rangers and still playing like a god.
As a die-hard Rangers supporter and goaltender myself, i truly feel so privileged to watch these icons play for my team. LGR 💙💙🤍🤍❤❤

Nah, they are too much a PP/Rush Scoring team. Shesterkin is nowhere playing as well he was years prior. If Shesterkin doesn't find his elite goaltending, then the Rangers are in trouble when the playoffs come around.
I have Rangers v Boston ECF. That or Rangers v Panthers. Either way the Rangers are going far this year

@@russell-di8jsna bluejackets are ugly. These have less crap all over them with sharper colors. The arm band looks better on the ice. Richer shade of blue. And the big crest on the chest didn’t bother me as much.
The officiating got waaaay too involved. The only legitimate penalty I can think of was doughtys slash.
soft penalties all game against both teams. only a few legit penalties in the entire game. referees just love to dictate who wins and loses, instead of letting the two teams play, and call an actual game affecting penalty when it’s needed.

@@dmonsefRangers barely had the puck that night against the Caps! Trap game? This game just had some questionable calls then it got intense between the two best teams in the standings; think the refs tried to control it. Kings got too aggressive with whacking Quick in front. That boiled over. But the two misconducts made no sense.
A good win for hockey, beating the 1-3-1 trap.

In short, we haven't been able to play the Rangers since the Stanley Cup win, we're bad in the sense...we make the same mistakes on defense...the offense is lousy and when we have pressure or make a great offense, we're stopped by the excellent Jonathan Quick...I think we're tired and we don't have the passion for the game in defense or in attack... on the Rangers side, you can see how hungry they are and I play with a calm head, that's why they deserve the first place
Both teams have done Retools since then; Rangers have had high end goaltending. Probably biggest difference? Henrik, to Georgiev, to Igor is not bad at all. Talbot entered the league with the Rangers too!

First road loss for the kings😭
In regulation, and even though the referees were poor, I’m not as upset about this game as I was yesterday’s. Kings should’ve won yesterday 100%, and as a result been 12-1-0 on the road after tonight’s result. Is what it is, but can’t help feeling upset after the results.
Hope my kings don’t fall apart after their 12 game road winning streak!

@@Harrison_Hollers these refs have made other controversial calls this season and there are calls for the nhlpa to review them, it’s not a stretch. you don’t get double minor for lightly knocking a guys helmet off, and NY got a high stick on a follow through….that’s simply not a penalty in the rule book. Along with countless others. Even the announcers were saying that, watch the whole game before replying.

Why, in a game against the rangers would you put coply in? WHY?!? He had some good saves but the rebounds were so bad. I also this it’s a mind set for the players as well, them knowing they have a unreliable goalie AT BEST a behind them can’t be good either. Why wouldn’t you stick to what’s working. He slashed Quick after Byfield was just penalized for that. Then Lafreniere cross checked him back. The additional 2 was for Kempe knocking Lafs helmet off right in front of the ref! The Kings got a free PP with the Panarin high sticking; not a penalty on a shot!

Honestly, those first two periods could’ve had zero penalties, and no one would’ve bat an eye. Obviously, in the 3rd period things got a *lot* more scrummy, but even then, LA ended up getting the short end of the stick on the calls. I just wish this game could’ve been played between the two great teams, and not with the Referees dictating the pace of play. Makes me feel ashamed to be a fan of this sport.
I have to agree. Poor officiating isn’t anything new in the NHL. Can’t do anything about it now. The Kings should’ve had the two points yesterday, and this game would’ve been much closer of the referees did their jobs properly. I’m not sure if the Kings would’ve won, but it would’ve been close, and far more respectable between the two teams, because like you said, these are two great teams, and a great game like this shouldn’t be tarnished by the referees.

I'm not going to talk about or worry about refs. Contending teams get over that because they have to. What I'm more interested in is how the Kings respond after these two losses. They responded just fine after the Washington loss. This could be the adversity we're looking for. TBH we can let the NYRs of the world win the President's Trophies of the world. We're looking for something else.
Agreed. I think it’s just fatigue. LA was obviously playing shorthanded for most of the game. Both on the ice and on the bench. The referees were terrible, but it’s hard to say who would’ve won even if they were amicable. LA will be fine. I just hope the NHL does something about the horrible officiating. Doubt it though. They haven’t addressed it before, so why would they now?

Not impressed with all the power play goals ,refs need to stay out of the game or try out for a team ffs.
Players on both sides were mixing it up and penalties got called. They never announced the misconducts but those don’t result in PPs. 8-6 in PPs. The worst call against the rangers was Panarin’s high sticking; he was shooting so follow through doesn’t count as a penalty.
