i guess im asking the wrong place but does anyone know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account? I was dumb forgot the login password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me!
@Michael Cason I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff now. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I'm a die hard Thai foodie and this is my absolute favorite street food dish. Brings me back to my childhood when I would leave out of the restaurant with my family and still buy this on the street because this just looks so tasty especially when it comes right out of the frier, never too full for this dish. Thank you so much for posting the recipe I am going to make this as soon as possible. Love your show!!
Don't hate on veggies, Pailin. You apologized four times for the dumplings being all veggie. I welcome the idea! Any veggie is better than meats. I watch your channel because of your sparkling personality and your tasty recipes that i can tweak to plant-based, and still get close to the flavors you use! I can't wait to try this recipe. Thank you!
Maryb Hernandez That's right, veggies are delicious, if we keep talkimg like that, like they are food that usually won't taste good people (specially kids) will keep believen they are nasty.
Thank you! I didn't mean to come off like I was "hating on veggies", I think my concern was mainly that for people who have never had garlic chives they might think of them like green onions, and you would never use this much green onions in anything cuz it would be far too strong.
Very lovely snack! I would advise putting the whole cake overnight in the fridge and cut it into cubes the next day so that the final shapes will be more regular without sticking to the knife.
Hello from Indonesia 🔥🔥🔥 Over the past year, I’ve been obsessed with Thai food. Then your Shorts accidentally appeared on my feed and brought me here. Finally, I found a Thai recipe channel in English!!! SUBSCRIBED 🎉
I made these a day in advance for a potluck. When I pulled it out of the fridge I was thinking, "Darn, this is ugly". But after frying them, they were so goooooddd! Everyone at the potluck really liked them and wanted the recipe haha. Sent them your way :D
This is totally my kind of dish (easy to make!). I have a TON of garlic chives growing out of control in my “garden”. Gotta get myself one of those steamers!!
Hi Pauline u are fantastic with all your cooking recipe u are all smile all the way n happy whoever wath your show will never fill boring thank u keep it up.
I do not fear that amount of vegetables! I appreciate so much about your videos, but this one in particular is full of techniques, which sends it right to my favorites list. Thank you!
Sawaddee kha, I'm Thai and just want to stop by to say thank you for doing the correct Thai recipes on TH-cam.I'm so sick of many foreigners or Thai who make stupid Thai recipes with wrong ingredients and ways.
I made this today for the first time and I want to say thanks so much for sharing such a great recipe 😁 I had this when I visited Thailand with my parents many years ago and hadn't eaten it again since 😅 I was overjoyed when I was able make it exactly how I remembered it. The best part is... my husband likes it a lot too. The dipping sauce is a must! 😋
Oh wow! Finally! I ate this everytime I went to Sampeng market, but didn't know the name to ask you to make it. Thank you so very much. You bring the much missed Thai street food back to us on CA.
those look and sound amazing!!! I am a sucker for all dishes where you can sneak massiv amounts of greens into a meal . . . totaly have to try them and they are naturally void of all the things i cant have so no stress there either. Thanks for sharing!!!
Hi, Pai! Just wanna thank you for sharing unfamiliar recipes. I am Lao and appreciate your authentic Thai recipes. I hope you're well with your baby & hubby!
Just made it today and it was absolutely delicious. Since it was simple, it was a nice bonding experience with the kiddo. Thanks for the recipe and you're totally right! The sauce does well with everything haha
The best food ever 😋 like your cuisine, love your channel. I am a chinese teochew decent and guichai is a teochew food speciality. I am so happy for your recipe so that I can try it myself... I miss so much my mum’s guichai 😭
pailin, i tried out this recipe and regretted that i put too little chives in the dough. i thought surely SURELY id hate an ungodly amount of chives, but surprisingly i was craving for more! this was fantastic. the sticky mess was a disaster on my end but in turned out alright. will remake this again some time in the future!❤
This took more effort than I thought, but oh my lord was it worth it! The contrast between the crunchy outside and super soft mochi-like inside was so good!
Discovered this recipe and made it ASAP. Love garlic chives and turnip cake and this is a hybrid. Turned out amazing. Wish I made a bigger batch! The leftovers we froze turned out even better than the pieces were had the same day we made it. Thanks again!
Thank you TH-cam for suggesting this! I eat this almost weekly at a pop up market and don't really see it anywhere else. They make taro and corn varieties also, as well as fried/nonfried versions, but the garlic chives nonfried is my go to. ขอบคุณเจ้า
I was watching this on a short and it brought me here. I really enjoyed how you did your video. You were fun and passionate, not to mention the invaluable tips and substitutions along tbe way. SUBSCRIBED! ❤❤❤
Kob kun ka! This is one of my childhood favorite snack and I just made it today. Absolutely delicious and easy. I didn't have the chili sauce, so I used the Thai sweet chilies sauce (for Thai BBQ Chicken) and and a little Siracha to make it spicier.
I never like Garlic Chive when I was younger because of it smile, but after I try it , it's actually goes really well mixing with pork to make dumpling. My mother just made Garlic Chive Dumplings last week and everyone love it. Strongly recommend everyone to try making this dish or put them into stream Dumplings or even use them to make fried rice or olettle. Thanks for Pailin's great recipe!
This dish is one of the very first thai dishes i ever had and it was phenomenal. The sweet soy and chili paste sauce ñ The local thai restaurant i frequented removed it from the menu and i was devastated. They also discontinued another of my favorites and the first entree i ever had khao mok gai. That meal made me a thai food lover. Thai food is a much lighter more aromatic and flavorful compared to chinese and i have been hooked ever since that first meal. Thanks for the sauce recipe and i might just try this method but traditional i think is gonna be my main go to
Aloha Pailin----made these wonderful treats today to accompany Hot & Sour Soup. Loved it. Glad I only made half of the recipe tho outerwise we'd a eaten ALL of them... Next time I'm going to soak dried shrimp, mince it and add it....maybe even some minced char siu? Can't wait. Thanks.
this is one authentic preparation I've come across and it looks YUMMY and to see I'm from the NorthEastern part of India from the state of Manipur and the fooding habits over in our region are very much similar to the SouthEastern Asian countries and Garlic Chive is a very important ingredient in almost all preparations try making fritter using basil and shrimps and chives ,its awesome
I have been looking for an easy Gui Chai recipe for weeks! Thank you so much for making this video. It is so easy to follow. I LOVE Thai food. Can't wait to make this! Thanks Pai!

Indonesia has smth similar too name is cilok but using green onion instead of guichai. Its a staple street food for school kids. Eaten with chilli sauce, sweet soy sauce and peanut sauce all mixed together.
Made this yesterday, they were delicious! I replaced the soy sauce with coconut aminos and they still turned out great. The sauce goes perfectly with the dumplings, don't skip it!
So glad I somehow stumbled across your channel. These look amazing and I'll be trying them this weekend. Also - you should be an actress, you are great in front of the camera!
Thank you, thank you, thank you for this recipe!!! I have been craving this stuff, but alas, frozen asian store offerings fall short on the yummy factor!
Ah, now I know what the street food snack is that I've become addicted to during my stays in Chiang Mai - thank you! Alas garlic chives are not available where I live in the UK, but I'll be having a go at growing them myself this summer, so all being well I'll be making my own guichai tod in a few months' time. Mmmmmm!
I got tons of chives in my backyard that we can’t consume fast enough for the speed of their growth, this is another great recipe to use them up. Thanks for the recipe, n glad I come across it just in time for the chive season :)
I love this, going to try. I have had what you call the harder to make version of these in Bangkok while at the samyan market in the morning when we visited. Was soo delicious. I would love to learn how to make the harder version as well
"it's full of vegetables! it's got to be better than french fries, right?" Pai, potatoes are also vegetables 😂 I'll try to make these with my mom this weekend 😊
EXCELLENT DOUGH RECIPE! We didn't follow your recipe but used your dough to put Carrots, Celery, Onion, Bacon, Dried Mushrooms, Spring Onions etc. Then we used our Breville Adjusta Grill & Press to make it into chewy pancakes instead of frying (less oily). Adding more Water turns it into a chewy biscuit. THANKS!
I have an incredible amount of chives in my garden.I think i'm going to make this with with adding garlic instead of Garlic chives I think it will be turn out great
Thanks for sharing this. I used to live in Thailand, and loved this! When I went back in 2017, it was hard to find in Bangkok, so I’m happy to see your easy way of making it. I will try it as soon as I get tapioca flour.
Next time you come to bkk, you can go to petchburi soi 17. It's a little cart in the mouth of the soi. Only 30 baht for 2 pieces. I've been getting these from them for years 😁
Finally managed to do this during lockdown. I halved the recipe since not sure if my family will like it or not. It's crispy and quite nice. I used thai chilies sauce and add pounded rice into the dipping sauce

Thank you! I didn't mean to come off like I was "hating on veggies", I think my concern was mainly that for people who have never had garlic chives they might think of them like green onions, and you would never use this much green onions in anything cuz it would be far too strong.

I remember getting this at a street vendor in Thailand. Thanks!
Thank you for your recipe! As always, it's easy and delicious!
I've never had this before, and clearly need to try making them! And "soft serve ice cream" texture dough just sounds so fun to play with.
"it's full of vegetables! it's got to be better than french fries, right?"
Pai, potatoes are also vegetables 😂
I'll try to make these with my mom this weekend 😊
Crystal Gong potatoes are roots.
Potatoes are starch roots not necessarily vegetable
