wow, the fact that you were able to fight your way so deeply into Ninevah before the single villager could even finish building the wonder means you could have destroyed their town center and killed their villager, which would allow you unlimited time to destroy all enemies. A hardest and fastest ninevah with conquest is something I haven't seen before.
he is really good. I used a similar but different strategy: 1: acquire dominion of the water (yellow enemy docks and ships destroyed, also the red ships) 2: reach the coast near the gold mine and place ships to kill every villager who approaches MY gold on yellow territory 3: destroy the red defenses on the east shore (the same where he landed) using my boats 4: use the resources (mainly the infinite food and wood) to build and upgrade a single huge group of archers on chariot to send all at once with the kamikaze mission of killing the red villager (before the wonder is completed). Usually they all died but they did the job. at that point I got unlimited time and resources to kill the red army and to conquer the yellow city too but I never played in hard mode, only easy
Hahaaa it's very pleasant to find people who still play old games :D Thanks a lot for your walkthroughs, I'm playing AOE 1 these days and Nineveh is the only mission remaining before I finish all the game. Wish me good luck :p
I really feel that the Babylonian campaign was the one campaign that had the most lazynessnwith it due to how in multiple scenarios you play with Egypt (default civ ) instead of Babylon

Hey, if are still playing this game, I found out two excellent custom campaigns : Mesoamerican Chronicles (this a golden one, legendary and comparable to the originals) and Fall of the Mitanni. There are interesting challenges in the first one, such as a scenario where you can't build military units.
I believe that part of history was later covered with The Conquerors expansion. As for the Mitanni campaign, did you mean the Reign of the Hittites campaign (also included in the original trial version of AoE)? It has a scenario named like that (the 4th), but can't seem to find any custom campaign that's called "Fall of the Mitanni".
First time I did this mission was without converting villagers, only starting resources. I remember that was one of the hardest missions, not even considered that option to convert villager LOL
Magnatio The funny thing is you can actually ally with the grays if you just decide to tribute with them enough times. Not that it actually helps at all since I can completely decimate the yellow enemy, get them out of the forest, and they either just stand there or they build a storage pit and just start sucking up all the stone and gold. XD
My game time was 2:30 in hours, like dammnn i had to go full priests on them converting a unit every 30 seconds and then kill it. Also, wonder was at 576 or smth HP when i killed the villagers. Damnn this was frustrating :P You're a god in this game O.O
+Magnatio I did :D Just as awesome as ever. How do you find out these ''hidden'' ways of beating the level? Though they are entertaining, I don't like using the easy method, I like long games where I fight to the death! Hahaha. Though these just tell that you know this game reeally well, and have studied it carefully :) Thanks :D
est omne tempus One time, I purposefully screwed with Ninevah on an easier difficulty. I killed the one villager then took my time converting literally everything they had, buildings and all, and built a Town Center on top of theirs. Their Kingdom belongs to ME now. 8)
First of all great gameplay! It great to watch you beating this amazing game with completely different ideas I had. How does it come that the red enemy is not attacking you all the time? Maybe its just me but on my end the red ones are attacking me at the beginning in many waves... no way to get a moment to rest or convert anything. :/
Thank you. Red attacks only in the beginning with all the ships. After that he cant create new ship cause his population is beoynd the maximum limit of 50.
For me the hardest was Canyon of Death, in the Yamato Campaign. I could never beat that one. And even after watching Magnatio's vid, I'm not quite sure how he did it. lol
Jair Crawford agree, I got really stuck there but than it occurred to me to attack with catapults from behind across the channel and Finnish them off with my men instead of attacking directly.
Hi. What version of AoE do u have? Mine (gold edition) doesn’t have camel scouts like yours nor does it allow more than one unit to be trained at a time. Is there a patch to allow clicking for more than one unit at a time? Your version looks so much better.
A Short History of Lost Sumeria. Memories of the Gupta Dynasty. I don’t remember playing those campaigns when I was a kid. Are you sure this is the official version?
Hi Magnatio! I like your videos, they are very cool and you are master in this game :) I have small question...I read that assyrian archers get 40% firepower but why is that when i click on assyrian chariot archer it still shows 4 attack?
Magnatio, is the Red supposed to have only 1 villager throught the entire game? Also, my gamesaves keep crashing if I save when theres enemy in my line of sight :S
+Igor Welkenbach Hey! It may be quite late of an answer but that game crashing issue is caused by the Rise of Rome 1.0a update. Also, you can save in that version if there are no projectiles mid-air at that time. You can downgrade your game version using this zip and replacing the exe and the dll file: www.speedrun . com/patches/downgrade_files_XpSuc.zip
If you kill so many red units they'll begin to produce more villagers. I did it the last time I won. Now the AI is on true POWER MASTER LEVEL, or I'm out of fit indeed, I can't survive the first 30 minutes anymore.

Joël LeMay Nigga, I am Assyrian we werent that brutal, we are beating persecuted raped beaten for being Christians, our history is where mankind started where civilization started!
Pootis Pow lol i was talking about all the way back when the Assyrians were facing off against the Babylonians several thousand years ago and no the Sumerians started to exist before the Assyrians and so did the Babylonians and it is the Assyrians that wiped out the Sumerians also the Assyrians were very similar to the Aztecs their religion demanded loads of human sacrifice they were extremely bloody you might be descendant of an Assyrian but you are no true Assyrian especially since you are Christian btw the worlds oldest farms are located in Turkey and they are 11500 years old and the second oldest farms are in Egypt so no the Assyrians were not the first civilization not even amongst the first but they are definitively old and are remembered for the extremely brutal acts they caused they also had extremely horrible tortures so yeah pretty much like the Aztecs oh and I'm a white guy btw
Pootis Pow the point is the Sumerians existed before the Assyrians i know the people that were part of the Sumerians became the Assyrians and Babylonians but they didn't simply become like that because they were assimilated just as much as the Assyrians were assimilated by the Babylonians altho I'm always looking for new info so ill be glad to check your vids since my info came from pretty old sources but don't make me laugh the Assyrians never expanded all the way to Turkey they were in the areas within Persia (Iran, Iraq most and the surrounding regions) but the oldest farms were found in high grounds in Turkey's core lands near Ankara and please don't use the US because over here in Canada US means the United-States so it looks weird but yes the Assyrians did indeed invent a great many things just like Aztecs the Assyrians were a majestic civilization and extremely advanced for their time i would never call them primitive at that age but they were brutal but hey just because a civilization is brutal doesn't mean they weren't smart look at the Roman empire for example they were extremely brutal when they won their war against Cartage they spread salt everywhere so that nothing would ever grow again they turned the place into a desert yet they were such a great civilization and again the sumerians were not the first civilization they were simply the first empire and probably the oldest "identified" civilization we found many much older places but couldn't identify exactly who built them because they didn't have weighting technology StoneEdge (might be spelled wrong) in England is a perfect example its much older then all Sumerian buildings also if put speakers in the middle the sound gets completely trapped inside it does not escape thats incredible building knowledge even today we have difficulties in reproducing something similar
Bitch of a level. Sure win strategy is recruit a villager from the enemy, get him to the land north of your base and build a whole load of troops to assault the enemy Wonder from there. I hate levels when the clock is ticking, too rushed.
1:59 look at that luck, 2 seconds and he convert a ship with 2 priest, im trying here and take me 3 priest in 10 seconds to convert a ship my luck bullllshit
@Strahinja Stojković yes i converted some of the enemy ships, i beated this lvl 2 years ago and i never played age 1 after that bullshit haha, is all based on luck, good luck m8
Omg , I just recently started playing the missions and man is the a.i. cheap. And a lot of the campaign missions seem like they are broken or just impossible to beat. I think the last mission of the Greeks and the 5th or 6th of the Babylonians can be beat only by pure luck or if you have watched a good walkthrough! Awful campaign really! The pathfinding is also very , very bad but It is an old game so , I will let it pass.
Magnatio Well I am currently stuck at this mission even on moderate and for me it seems absolutely impossible ,for now atleast. I am close but when the red finishes the Wonder and the countdown starts I just run out of time before I can make a good attack or just rush too much and my armies are killed/converted. And I have to hurry even though the red has a full limit + defensive towers + catapults + priests and my units have will of their own (the pathfinding) . But forget about this mission , what about The Great Hunt. For me this was an outright broken or atleast very poorly made mission. I was able to beat it after I saw in a youtube walkthough that all I need to do is just get a unit to a specific location in the map (deep in enemy territory) and the map is beaten. I like the game, after all it was released in 1997 and it is not very serious to complain so much about it...but I am really surprised by the level of difficulty/cheapness of the campaign(I was even raped while playing the Egyptian campaign and it is supposed to be a tutorial!) By the way I also have RoR expansion. I was wondering if there is any difference in the campaign difficulty with the expansion and without it. I mean maybe things are more balanced?
TheVixalazio Nineveh. I understand, but I provided Good algorythm of how to complete Nineveh even on hardest difficulty. Also there is a lot of time left. I just finished this mission with 80 years to lose the game. In the end I used elephant archers and catapults instead of chariots.
agree, one of the hardest, especially in the beginning.
For me the most hardest is Great Hunt, but it is also the most boring and uninteresting.
Why boring

it is not that efficient. Also yellow kills that villagers on hardest difficulty.
