Sookie knocking that guy out cold in the face freaking out over Rory being back after a brief absence is a pretty accurate representation of this entire show.
Rory acting like she went through worse in the 3 months she was living with Richard/Emily than Lorelai did in 16 years is WILD. So self absorbed

Comments nitpicking everything Rory does, are so annoying. She was literally a teenager throughout most of the show
No what’s self absorbed is BOTH of them acting like living in a mansion with two people who love them and wanted to guide them was like living in some gulag is SELF ABSORBED

@@ee-mv3es Guide and control are two very different things. I don't deny that Emily/Richard loved them, that's very clear. But they also wanted them to follow their exact path and live the exact life they wanted.
@@ee-mv3esThey were controlling, manipulative and restraining towards Lorelai. It was all in good intention but ultimately just being rich isn’t enough. She felt restricted and not cared about as a person, just as a daughter. Emily and Richard love them but they are cold and, again, controlling and manipulative. That us not a loving household.

Nope! He didn't know. Rory and Lorelai were pros at making others look like the villains while conveniently skipping over their own missteps. Classic Stars Hollow shenanigans!

People kiss the ground Rory walks on and she's so used to it...I'm ashamed to say my family was the same way with me and I have turned out equally as insufferable as Rory. It throws me off track when I'm met with opposition, rejection or general dislike.

Wow, kudos to your honesty. But on a more real note, I see my siblings headed in the same direction as entitled Rory, any advice on how I can help or prevent it from getting worse 😢
It's already become pretty bad actually, my parents seem to have enabled the situation for very long, unnecessarily focusing on hating me 😅 instead of assuming the responsibility of disciplining themselves and my siblings, and all this has now reached a critical point of no return 😢
The last statement you made is what I see most clearly reflected in my own siblings and parents coupled with a lot of denial and misdirected anger

After shutting her mother out...😮 so callous. She is very spoilt . Lorelai was so desperate to be a friend instead of a mother.
I don’t know how Sookie staff don’t quit. First she knocks one worker to the ground along with what he’s holding by mistake without even apologizing. Following it up with telling the staff to stop and get rid of what they’re doing just to make a full out fancy lunch for an adult kid who made up with her parent.
If only I could drop and change what I’m doing at work and have my staff organize a fancy lunch abruptly when my best friend tells me she made up with her kid. What are best friends for who don’t have the patience to tell me the good news during a break or off time or those that world tell you to stop doing their busy work just to listen to your recent makeup with their kid.
Sookie and lorelai own the inn. They can close the entire thing and have a welcome home party for rory, if they want.
Sookie drives me nuts. She's so obnoxious.
What a waste of food 🥘 though! She should have added those items to the menu not throw away everything else

Just a financial note. I am not a financial advisor so you should run this past an expert if it applies, but it is better to pay the college directly rather than giving the money to the student and having them pay the tuition.
I don’t like that Rory said that there are too many strings with these people.

@@jenbialek it’s the way she said “these people” like they are not her grandparents who gave her a place to live when she did what she did. Trust me I know that Emily and Richard were toxic and overbearing, I just thought she was being a spoiled brat by saying “these people” like that

What I really don't like Christopher going after Lorelei. Mostly due to the fact that he was clearly just in lust with her. But he is a significantly better parent than Emily or Richard. Because he understands that paying for college just comes with the turf with having a kid. Whereas Emily and Richard only see an ends to a mean.
Richard and Emily aren't her parents. They're her grandparents. It's not their responsibility to pay for college. They did it to be nice and requiring a weekly dinner is a pretty fair price for an ivy League education

Christopher is so handsome. The miracle is that Loreli only had one child with Christopher. That night that Christopher and Lorelei slept together. The whole direction of the story could have gone in a different direction if Lorelei got pregnant again. Ive always felt like there was a part of Lorelei that was stifled at age 16 and she has this gap between her and her parents that stems from her teenage pregnancy.
Does he pay for it?? I remember Christopher always failing os his promises but can't remember this time.
He payed for a semester not from the beginning.
I hate how the kitchen screen is green screen 😢 Thus why I love earlier episodes (only some like drives/carriage rides) are green screen
how disgusting. She's literally choosing between which filthy rich person in her family will pay for her school and acting spoiled about it. In fact, she wants the option with "no strings attached". She actually believes she deserves money handed to her. At least Logan has a billion responsibilities after he graduates. And it makes sense that her grandparents would be concerned about sex. Lorelei got pregnant at 16 and high promiscuity can really damage a woman's perception and mental health. This is all just very spoiled. I'm not mad that Rory is rich and using her opportunities, that's her right because she was born into a wealthy family. It's her lack of awareness that comes across as very unlikable. You don't sense any gratitude from her.
Yeah, but it’s not the grandparents business what Rory does with her own body. Rory was 21 fully capable to make her own decisions. And by the way, sex is very healthy. It does not damage a woman’s perspective.

@@TashaSiera gonna have to disagree. Everyone gets their heart broken at least once unless you are some kind of robot or animal that has zero feelings. By putting yourself out there over and over, especially with something like sex, you are hurting yourself for no reason. Obviously Rory was being very safe and she was in a good relationship, but it's nice that her grandparents were concerned. It wasn't that long ago sex before marriage is considered taboo and it still is in many cultures.

I don't think there was anything wrong with her wanting Christopher to pay for school. I mean he never contributed anything while she was growing up. What infuriated me about this episode was the fact that she moved out of Emily and Richards house without even telling them then didn't speak to them for months and didn't even have the decency to tell them that Christopher was paying for her school. She didn't even tell them she had decided to go back to school and yet they were still willing to pay for it. And she just acted like this was totally acceptable behavior simply because she was annoyed living with them. And lorelei didn't even call her out on it which also bugged me. This was when she became really unlikeable to me.
I kinda always wanted Lorelai and Christopher to get back together
