Great finds guys! It's crazy that my first week detecting with my Simplex+ I got a 1920 Mercury dime and a 1950D Washington quarter. Can't wait to go back and hunt that park again with my Legend. Keep coming with those great hunts
That's funny. I found the exact same aluminum ring in my yard. 😅 It wasn't far from the sterling silver kids ring from the mid 70s. And my detector screamed with copper pennies too. No silver coins found here, but I feel they may be deeper, so my detector can't reach em. Last year I was very confused when I dug up a 1965 quarter that was 3" down and it looked like new! Clad don't look silver in clay when it's that deep. I was told there was never ANY silver 65s EVER. I didn't find out till 2 months ago that very few 65s WERE made of silver. Of course that quarters gone now. I could kick myself for letting that one go. 😭

Great video! I have an Osmo Action camera, and it shoots amazing video, is very user friendly, and the sound quality a little better than the GoPro…oh and longer battery life! I’m considering adding an external mic, might be something you consider for those windy days.

Definitely a great hunt, really liking those sterling wings and silver ring. I really think the new camera is waaaay better than your gopro, the picture is a lot clearer and it really focuses quick, I would suggest getting one of those fuzzy microphone protectors that muffle out the wind more. Looking forward to the next hunt and I hope y'all got home safe, hope you can get that clutch fixed also. Good luck on your next hunt guys!!!😎👍

Button is 1 of 2 possibilties...reindeer button off of Santa's coat or Johe Deere button. I think the first but I have been wrong before. lol
I'm guessing sportsman button. I have found a lot of sportsman buttons with different animals on them. Almost looks like a antelope

I found a pair of ww2 navy Air crew sterling pilot wings in my first 2 months of metal detecting
That deer on the button looks like the one from the White Stag company logo. They made outdoor gear and clothing.
Those are called sportsman's buttons.. I know some of them date to the 1830 and 40's but not sure of the age of that one

camera quality is better than the gopro but need a wind scrren fot the mic and not the one with tattos. lol.

The camera appears very good. The picture is clearer without the glare that I noticed with the go-pro.

The deer button most likely fell off a hunting jacket.
The button with the deer? Might be something manufactured by the John Deere Company. On the video it appears to also be green....John Deere's signature color. I googled the logo history and it's probably from the 1930s, yet the tail appears different so I am not sure.....just a guess. On some vidoo would you mention the shovel/pinpointer/detector you use please? It's also great to hear your signal readings. I've had a detector for years, but am still a novice as I don't get out digging much.
Alright already, I can't leave my ole Garrett in the closet any longer. Got new batteries in hand and I'm keeping this comment short because I'm checking out my Detecting kit and WILL be used very soon or earlier if possible. Love the new camera. I may have to stop by and get that old GP out of your way. (Charge the battery for me please I'll be flying low) lol

What’s the best way to break the ice when knocking on doors to get permissions.
I usually greet them by saying my name and then proceed into what it is that we do. It's almost like once you do it enough you develop your own method. I have plans at some point to record the conversation with the home owners so that I can share it. Thanks

You need to invest in an external mic with a wind muff. Wind noise is not going to make the viewers happy!
