Bara: I hate it when people walk in front of me when I'm firing! Also Bara: First maneuver he pulls walks in line of his mate's firing! Great vids and loved the tankiness of the Cataphract!
Love this mech...one of if not most favorite. I Run lb 20 and 5 med pulse with a standard 270 a 4 external double heat sinks. Its a beast...takes a beating and really dishes the damage
The Cataphract is a special favorite of mine, because of how I discovered it. I got one randomly while playing _MW5,_ decided to take it for a spin, and was incredibly surprised by how well it performed. It’s also why I see Capellans as ‘piñatas that dispense toys and make funny pained wheezing noises when hit’.
Great to see this variant being used! this mech was my highest dmg holder back in 8vs8 days with AC10 with 5 med laser. I believe it was somewhere around 1600dmg done . by the time i was done i had 2 med laser left and most of the mech was red/orange.
Your team was so hesitant in that first game. I very rarely get aggressive teams anymore, everyone is afraid to be the tip of the spear and killed first b/c no one will follow. Sad, but true.
I'd fire the ac first. As soon as the lasers hit the enemy starts to back off causing the slower ac to miss. First game was a glorious mess. If the team had just focused one area they could have crushed the opposing team as they were spread all over the place. Second game was pretty messy too mainly because people didn't listen to you and moved away from the area you asked them to hold. If they had waited a little longer, your call proved to be the right one. Both enjoyable games to watch though so thank you for posting Bara ;D
Post videos daily of him consistently carrying the team - "Why am I the centre of attention?!?" hahaha. If I came up against you Baradul I'd probably focus fire you too. Also props for getting a 6 kill game on Baradul's channel
I run my MASCaphract with 2x PPCs + UAC-10, LE 300. Nothing gimmicky about 40 midrange pinpoint damage in an armored brick of a mech that can sprint about the battlefield at 89 kph.
I'd forgotten how I had my 1X kitted out, so I popped into the client to check... 300 LFE, 2xLPL, and a UAC20. Its pretty short range, runs kinda hot, but dear gawds can it fuck people up.
A tier list video of meta builds of the months. Molten Meta Monthly would be a cool recap to have each month Baradul. Like this comment so he can see it if you agree.
And I would've stripped a crapton of armor from the left arm, legs, and cockpit, put in a STD 275 (for deadsiding), a UAC-20, 5x MPLs, 3 tons of ammo, and 16 DHS with a right side bias. The left arm only carries a MPL, it can be sacrificed; the left torso carries 3 DHS and a MPL, losing it will suck, but it certainly won't take us out of the fight. Forget sensors skills and Laser Duration nodes, max out Heat gen, Survival, and Operations. Then hit the field in a Brick Outhouse of a mech that can rival assaults in Pinpoint DPS/Alpha, Armor + Survivability, and completely out speed them. But as you've stated, to each their own.
In the first stage of the first game? If you don't want to take all the damage, then pick a direction and go there. Running back and forth just makes you the duckie in the shooting gallery...
what happened to you in the first half of the first game is what normally happens with me when i tank but unlike you i die. this is sadly the state of the game now with everybody cowering and trying to do the most damage so they wont drop in rating. i dont care what tier im in (and all you ppl cowering shoulnt either because with such a small player base tier dont mean shit)
Same here. I wish the game wasn't so dmg-centric. It's so sad. And it leads to bad gameplay. Winning should be the priority. Fulfilling your role should be important. Light mechs are mainly supposed to scout, not to skirmish. PGI has turned the BT universe into a brainless team deathmatch.
Gota aggree to a point. If its not assults loaded up with lrms standing in the back its too many rambos running off in their own world thinking they can kill them all alone ...but not always just enough to be really annoying. I realize its just a game and its ment for fun..but i think we can all agree winning is more fun
If you care about tier, get involved in the fight. Choose your targets thoughtfully, prioritize landing shots as often as possible through the entire match. You don't have to inflict critical damage to make a difference. I think this is an important point, the paper doll does not do a good job of illustrating damage in its subtle shift from orange through red. Also remember that as you wear a target down, they need to behave more defensively, which also means that they're more predictable - say if they need to protect a side torso for example, they'll likely twist the same way, for the same amount of time when they think you're going to fire. There will be matches where the dynamics work against you, say where a brawler just can't engage without excessive exposure, but that only happens occasionally. At a minimum, if you know you aren't as accurate or as fast as some other people make a point of buddying-up or supporting someone who does seem to be doing well. Even if you just help them make space or spread damage between you; You're amplifying their opportunities and lifespan for a greater chance at team success.
@@kyneticist when i said that i dont care about tier doent mean i dont know how to ascend in tier, i already been in tier 1. What i meant was that i dont care if i push as an assult do 100 dmg and die and go down in tier

Damage was the difference. Solar Rain got higher match score with half the kills...but damage was half again what Urb's was. One could argue kills remove their ability to DO damage to your team, but damage makes the kills possible. Either way, was a great game.

When an Urbie makes sure you don't have a snowball's chance in hell. 6 kills! Most Valuable Trash Can.
Don't underestimate the Combat Trash Can!!! :)

Yep one of my favorites. 5 mpl and an lb 20...as stated above...its an absolute beast
awesome gameplay with that classic mech. love it, love it, LOVE IT!

I love the Cataphract. Such a cool looking mech.
THe OCD in me would have to move the Large Laser in the Left Torse so up so it was level with the one in the Right Torso 😆
Nice one 😀
I just dusted off my IM yesterday and had some great fun in an awesome match. Quite different loadout, though
Baradul needs to become as professional MWO commentator if they ever do a WORLDWIDE SOLARIS TEAM LEAGUE! I love his rapid fire commentary!
i use my 1x with an lbx20 and 5 med pulse lasers. its so much fun to play you should try it. Great Videos keep it up
My god. A Baradul build with a targeting computer. Are we sure he hasn't been replaced?
if you go for a light 280 you can use lrg pulse instead
I always did like the Cataphract.
Ac 10 is super cool you can fire and still cool down
I'd fire the ac first. As soon as the lasers hit the enemy starts to back off causing the slower ac to miss.

For CTF-IM dual LL + dual AC10 is the strongest build, great range, heat management and DPS, lasers are high enough for hill peeking
I prefer my Illya with 3x AC-10s. Dat range is sick, that pinpoint DPS is sick, and the heat management is to die for.
CTF is a true gem
Aw I was excited for the MASCaphract! Sure, it's gimmicky but it's fun :)
I run my MASCaphract with 2x PPCs + UAC-10, LE 300. Nothing gimmicky about 40 midrange pinpoint damage in an armored brick of a mech that can sprint about the battlefield at 89 kph.
I have my MASCaphract kitted with a big XL, 2xLPL, and 3xMPL. Firepower is unimpressive for its size, but no one expects it to move like it does.
I am curious why so many videos of mech loadout seem to ignore ams and ecm. Do skilled pilots find them unneeded?
When we getting a standard AC20?!
also fits lb-20x and 5 md. pls!
been seeing a lot of massive delays in Warhorn playback too
The cataphract can spread damage like a boss. Still great in a brawl.
Hello. Please tell me what kind of headphones do you use? Thank you.
Interesting build. IMHO, the AC-10 requires too much face time.
I wonder what this mech would be like with 1 UAC-5/10, 2 LP, & 3 MP.
In the first game the Pirates Bane had 4 kills and 400+ dmg.
Try a trebuchet-7m MRM build
