LOVE this braid so much!! Thank you for this video and all of your videos!! You (and craftybug) have been a godsend making mums for my freshman and her friends this year!! For this braid, I found if I take the right weaving ribbon and toss it behind the center ribbon for the twist I can get nearly effortless, even sections every time. Sharing incase it helps anyone else! I have no idea how you manage to get them so perfect without doing that! Such an inspiration! Again thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos!! Question.....if my center ribbon is 20 inches (40in then folded) should my weaving ribbons be 70 in folded (140 in total) ?

You can always add more ribbon. And I have no idea. Lol I’m gonna have to go back and watch and see. I haven’t made one this season and measuring is not really my thing. I pull ribbon and pray it’s long enough and if it’s not, then I add more lol.

Tried this one and it looks beautiful! But I found that 3.5xs the length for the weaving ribbon wasn’t enough to reach the end of my center ribbon length. (Probably my fault I should have tightened it up more.) but it left a large tail.
Thank you for all of these videos! They are really helping me make my first set up mums ever! Is the ribbon doubled over for stability? Or is there another reason to double it over?
It is doubled to make it stiffer. Most of the time when we double our ribbons, it’s to make sure the back or the non-shiny side doesn’t show. This braid you don’t actually have to double them as long as your shiny side is facing out.

Hey, I started watching you a few days ago when I was looking to make my Granddaughter a paw mum. I went out shopping bought all kinds of trinkets and some ribbon etc. but im so upset I can't find the main school color that I need. I only found stripes of it. If anyone can help me find it. It's a blue periwinkle color. I'm in the Katy Tx. area.
Sorry, I also wanted to say I have been to 3 hobby lobby stores in the area, Arnie's, and dollar stores, pluse searching online. Nerver thought a color would be so hard to find. Any help will be appreciated. Right now I'm a grandma in distress.
Good morning. I apologize for not responding sooner. I have never actually paid attention to who would have that color. It’s not something that I use or have used ever. When is homecoming? You can try the ribbon source on 1960. Also if you want to look online. Mumsrusandmore.com and monsterspirit.com.
The ribbon source has a Facebook page so you can message him there and see if they carry the color you need. You can look at their pictures and see if it might be in some of those.
