Agreed, man. The last time I listened to this song in particular I was seriously considering it to be his finest performance vocally. That being said, I think this is one of their best-written songs to date. It’s tough to beat Witch Trials, though.
Dave and Revocation really deserve to be more recognized around the metal community. the guy is a riff master, and the band haven't ever put out a bad record. They should be getting more money and attention as their musical act has no waste at all!
I definitely agree, but I didn't mind his vocals on prior albums either. Empire of the Obscene has Dave's vocals at their most primitive, but that's still my favorite album of theirs.
shadybrain3424 had never heard of em, but saw them at Summer Slaughter & they kicked my fuckin ass! bought myself a T Shirt, over Cannibal corpse like I originally planned even hahah
Still stocked that this band still kills it. i first listened to them i was like 14 or 15 as a freshman in high school. im now 21 and married with a daughter due next month and fuck man still cant believe its been this long xD Love this band c:
This album is Top 5 best metal albums of 2016 at least. It shreds, rocks, bangs, fucks, thrashes, vomits, beheads and rips everything in its sight to pieces.
Lyrics: Pestilence, herald of sickness Exhordium of our doom Consuming both the old and the young Precious innocents stillborn in the womb The first of the plagues befallen man This woeful curse brought forth by our own hands Broken are the seals, commence the end times Open the gates of destruction Battles abound, on marches war Hear the galloping hooves of the horsemen Carnage divine, the four shall align Apocalyptic judgement A black shadow cast across the land Feast your eyes on the scales of starvation Famine devours all Fulfilling this prophecy of deprivation The arbiters of the apocalypse come to claim what they are owed Now death reigns triumphant, no god will have mercy on our souls
I've enjoyed every single revocation album since day one. Can hum every riff, tap every beat and repeat most lyrics. Favorite album has to be EIF and EOTO. Teratogenesis has some damn good bangers on there too. Since Phil left, you can tell the chemistry changed. Still sounds like revocation but nobody could hit those drum pockets like Phil. New drummer has some big shoes to fill but I am so far impressed.
Phil kills the drums. Ash has a more straight forward approach that I almost appreciate more. I like the single stroke double bass ash does rather than the double strokes phil was doing; even though it is flawless. I saw phil live and his kicks were misfiring and sounded like shit. Ash live twice and he was flawless. Both great.
I'm sure all these comments reflect the same thing (not bothering to go through all of them) I'm stating right now, but Revocation is simply the best band in Metal today. No one matches their skill level or songwriting ability.
Allegaeon is definitely on par (to me, I like Allegaeon's stuff a bit more)... If they toured together, it would be too awesome for the world to handle
i remember the firs time when my guitarist show me the dismantle the dictator video i was so amazed, the new school of metal keep the old alive, thanks for all this years of Art
Revocation is one of my personal favorite METAL bands of all time and have seen them my live 3 x's since 2015, my favorite was @ The Altar Bar Pittsburgh Pa USA during their DEATHLESS tour cycle I actually got everyone to sign my DEATHLESS cd accept David Davidson that night
I just saw them live in Fort Lauderdale, this is the greatest band of all time. No one knows it either. It actually makes me kind of upset because I wish I can share the pure joy and brutality and endless innovation of this amazing band
Concept videos are expensive and time consuming. And those are two things often missing in metal: big budgets, and time. We do them when bands have time, ideas, and we've got budgets..
Needs this band to come to Australia , Adelaide the home of a good head bang. I don't have anything by them apart from deathless EP but I'm buying a ticket. Gotta represent and support.
REVOCATION is personally one of my top favorite METAL bands of all time. I've seen them live 3 x's and my favorite was when I saw them @ THE SUMMER SLAUGHTER TOUR Cleveland Oh. USA The Agora Ballroom
Trivium has completely died and a new Trivium comes. All welcome. Seriously I'm astonished at Davidson's singing like this. The instrumental parts fucking really kick my ass as always. I'm looking forward so bad to listen to their new magnum opus!
They're like Trivium in alot of ways. Similar set up, extremely talented front man, have similar inspirations. I'd love to see David and Matt do a song together.
Quite often i read in the comments section that this band is underrated... Well, i'm pretty sure that the majority of people who really like metal that comes straight from the heart and without tags have already discovered them. Frankly, i don't think that Revocation gives a shit about the rest...
Fuck yes this band is one of the greatest out there if you want high quality written death metal songs and unrelenting performance, Revocation forever!!
60 is all fine and good for video games, but it's a completely different look for film. The Hobbit was shot in 48, and is so hyper real that it creates multiple issues - one is it doesn't look cinematic in that motion blur is missing (this argument works for film, where it doesn't for games), and 2, it's twice as many (if not more) frames that have to be dealt with in post. That's twice as much work for video effects folks. 24fps will probably remain the standard for some time, if for no other reason than "it's what we're used to."
This may sound odd, but Revocation is everything I always hoped Trivium would’ve been, especially after first hearing Heafy sing on Capharnaum’s album.
Not to be a complete plebeian regarding this band, but honestly I think they should write more songs in this vein, as far as arrangement is concerned. This song has it all. A killer galloping riff, killer vocals and lyrical themes, face melting solos, and just enough atypical cords and jazz influenced stuff to keep it original and interesting. Some of their stuff is technically brilliant, but lacks the hooks that this song delivers. Im not saying stop the noodly stuff, but incorporating undeniable hooks like this song has might expand the fanbase.
Dave's vocals have gotten so good over the years. It's quite cool to see him grow as a vocalist.
Agreed, man. The last time I listened to this song in particular I was seriously considering it to be his finest performance vocally. That being said, I think this is one of their best-written songs to date. It’s tough to beat Witch Trials, though.
And I’m here to say, 6 and 2 years later, that he’s still improving ❤
Dave and Revocation really deserve to be more recognized around the metal community. the guy is a riff master, and the band haven't ever put out a bad record. They should be getting more money and attention as their musical act has no waste at all!
David Davidson has come such a long way with his vocals.
I definitely agree, but I didn't mind his vocals on prior albums either. Empire of the Obscene has Dave's vocals at their most primitive, but that's still my favorite album of theirs.
this band is so underrated its ridiculious.
shadybrain3424 had never heard of em, but saw them at Summer Slaughter & they kicked my fuckin ass! bought myself a T Shirt, over Cannibal corpse like I originally planned even hahah
They are too underrated to even comprehend dude. Been jamming them since I was in 5th grade. Feels like they're a forgotten gem...
.. how? Who ever says Revocation isn't nothing but awesome?
Arguably the best metal act since the turn of the century. Don't think I've heard a single bad song from them.
shadybrain3424 I wouldnt say underrated simply cuz every metal head who listens to them loves em
Underappreciated would be better or simply unknown
This band is unbelievably talented.
Garret Berry being talented now days is the same as normal or basic. not special anymore.
@@gh0stdem0n666 ^this
@@gh0stdem0n666 if that's true then what word describes this band?
Revo rules
i'm in love with the band =]
How is Revocation not the biggest metal band right now? Fuck these guys are so good.
I think the same thing...
They’re too spastic (I say that lovingly) in their melody. It’s not super accessible to non extreme metal fans.
Still stocked that this band still kills it. i first listened to them i was like 14 or 15 as a freshman in high school. im now 21 and married with a daughter due next month and fuck man still cant believe its been this long xD Love this band c:

But I have epilep*dies*
Hahaha no kidding!! RIP
totally worth it though
He died in the metal . .
wow you are not joking lol
That is a perfect comment. its exactly what i was thinking while watching the video..
That entire riff sequence from 1:04 - 1:30 is some of their best. Wait, all of their riffs melt my face.
Hahaha, you're fucking right bro! And.... I'm so glad for that! This band is awesome, blow my mind on every riff.
How in the hell can he play guitar like that and sing....... Amazing!

Lyrics:
Pestilence, herald of sickness
Exhordium of our doom
Consuming both the old and the young
Precious innocents stillborn in the womb
The first of the plagues befallen man
This woeful curse brought forth by our own hands
Broken are the seals, commence the end times
Open the gates of destruction
Battles abound, on marches war
Hear the galloping hooves of the horsemen
Carnage divine, the four shall align
Apocalyptic judgement
A black shadow cast across the land
Feast your eyes on the scales of starvation
Famine devours all
Fulfilling this prophecy of deprivation
The arbiters of the apocalypse come to claim what they are owed
Now death reigns triumphant, no god will have mercy on our souls
I love Dave's frantic headbanging and movements haha.
This video is SICK. Probably my favorite song from the album on its first few passes.
That drummer must be robotic cause his technical beats and speed are out of this world. I love it!!!!
His name is Ash Pearson. Have you ever heard of Three Inches of Blood? He use to play drums in that band.
Possibly the best metal band right now
IMO Revos is the best metal band since the apparition of Megadeth in 1983
Everyone have their own opinion, for me GOJIRA best metal bands nowadays
This band is 90s death metal but improved and better! BEAST!!!
freaking Revocation, even when you think you know what you're going to get, BAM!! you get shredded
1:55 this entire song is nasty, but damn that riff and section are probably my favorites
I've enjoyed every single revocation album since day one. Can hum every riff, tap every beat and repeat most lyrics. Favorite album has to be EIF and EOTO. The drumming on this track is FUCKING EPIC!!
Loving the DeathSpell and Gorguts shirts.
DSO is easily one of the best things to happen to black metal
I didn't think they could top themselves, but they did. Practically flawless, like the rest of the album.
one of the most consistently awesome bands I've heard. every album is good and I haven't heard a bad or boring song yet.
I'm sure all these comments reflect the same thing (not bothering to go through all of them) I'm stating right now, but Revocation is simply the best band in Metal today. No one matches their skill level or songwriting ability.
I'm right there with ya
They are very talented indeed, but Obscura is at least one step above in every aspect.
The Black Dahlia Murder never disappoints.
Oh please, Revocation is what Metal is all about!!!
Allegaeon is definitely on par (to me, I like Allegaeon's stuff a bit more)... If they toured together, it would be too awesome for the world to handle
The 5 seizures I’ve had won’t stop me from watching this video over and over.
Just dropping by for my daily listen :D
The start of the album that changed it all for me. I still listen to Great Is Our Sin regularly.
Wish revocation wasn't as underrated as they are, cause they are fucking talented , still cant wait to see them and exhumed
i remember the firs time when my guitarist show me the dismantle the dictator video i was so amazed, the new school of metal keep the old alive, thanks for all this years of Art
I LOVE THIS BAND! The way of his guys mix differents styles, chords of jazz and rythms. THIS IS SO Original. Amazing!
Revocation is one of my personal favorite METAL bands of all time and have seen them my live 3 x's since 2015, my favorite was @ The Altar Bar Pittsburgh Pa USA during their DEATHLESS tour cycle

That opening riff is the most badass collection of sound waves that have ever entered my ears
How music videos should be!!!
i agree
Concept videos are expensive and time consuming. And those are two things often missing in metal: big budgets, and time. We do them when bands have time, ideas, and we've got budgets..
there was nothing so great about this video but the song kicked ass
Hell no.
The way he throws that arpeggio at the end of the main riff is FIRE!
Just saw these guys on the summer slaughter tour they were awesome!
best tech-death band i think.
Sounds like straight death metal to me
@@Zyklon_B_still_and_know_God nah definitely tech
I saw this live at Summer Slaughter tour with Nile, Cannibal Corpse, and Suffocation..blew my fucking mind, every band killed it. Revocation 4 Life!!
First time finding and I'm surprised these guys aren't more popular
Great Riffs as Always, Dave Davidson's talent and creativity it's getting better and better
1:56 to 2:08 the old Revocation it's back
Holy shit! These dudes are always throwing new things into the mix, I love it
the new album is so good, cool video.
I just have to say that I love you guys. You are so powerful and original!. See you soon in México!
It reminds me Strapping Young Lad...
Needs this band to come to Australia , Adelaide the home of a good head bang. I don't have anything by them apart from deathless EP but I'm buying a ticket. Gotta represent and support.
love revocation so much technicality and heavy and melodic at the same time
Amazing as always.
August 21st, cant ducking wait!
Impressive Deathspell Omega shirt. Just saw Revo last night \m/
REVOCATION is personally one of my top favorite METAL bands of all time.
I've seen them live 3 x's and my favorite was when I saw them @ THE SUMMER SLAUGHTER TOUR Cleveland Oh. USA The Agora Ballroom
Jesus there's just a ludacris amount of attention to detail in all of the shots!!!!!
THE CLEANS ARE SOO CATCHY
The most melodic Revocation song I've heard by them. Yet still one if the most brutal
dave is a genius
i see Deathspell Omega and Gorguts t shirts. nice.
This is my first time hearing revocation and my first opinion is that they remind me of a mix of Gojira and mastodon both of which I love👍🏻
First time ever listening to this band... I dig it!
Trivium has completely died and a new Trivium comes. All welcome.
Seriously I'm astonished at Davidson's singing like this. The instrumental parts fucking really kick my ass as always. I'm looking forward so bad to listen to their new magnum opus!
Their song Sin and sentence is pretty good. The rest... Not so much
They're like Trivium in alot of ways.
Frankly, i don't think that Revocation gives a shit about the rest...
they sound even better live. truly talented band
Killer riffs, solo, vocals, band, mix, etc
Brutal! Love it! The solo was icing to the cake!
I get a "Troy from Mastodon" vibe from the cleans. Not a bad thing.
Fuck yes this band is one of the greatest out there if you want high quality written death metal songs and unrelenting performance, Revocation forever!!
i love David's signature move with the arm backwards
Shot at a cinematic 24 FPS.
This statement is just so damn literal.
The PC gaming master race demands 60! *breaks out the pitchforks and torches*
24fps will probably remain the standard for some time, if for no other reason than "it's what we're used to."
tl;dr shooting 60fps for video is a stylistic choice and creates a totally different look.
Metal Blade Records just having a bit of fun! I never care about what framerate video is shot in. Awesome song too, so who gives a fuck?
My favorite metal tune this year!
This album has pummeled me to near-death many, many times
Dave's leads on this album......not sure how to express my satisfaction!!! Tak!!!!
Listening to their old stuff and then their current material, M I N D B L O W N
Приступ схватил.
2:34 - 3:03 Special guest soloing: Testament.
Alex Skolnick is one of Dave's major influences, also both of them are taught in jazz, no wonders why you feel those vibes.
why?
death metal mastodon!!!
Lol, no wonder I love both of these bands.
His cleans do remind me of Troy's
Troy is Mastodon to me. I probably wouldn't be able to stand Killer be Killed without him, honestly.
Yea, these last 2 records just bleed Mastodon influence. I love it.
David Rocha totally........
Fuck, when great is our sin came out I didn't think it was that good... But now it's my favourite Revo album, this band has no filler material.
Fantastic
This may sound odd, but Revocation is everything I always hoped Trivium would’ve been, especially after first hearing Heafy sing on Capharnaum’s album.
A song about the four horsemen, Pestilence, War, Famine and Death. So fucking badass.
They have a good sound!
trivium is my favorite band since 2005. now i know what they mean when they say pop metal
Revocation is so goddamn good its ridiculous!
oh how i missed listening to this, brings back memories!!
How does this not have more views?!?!?!
These lyrics are a perfect representation of my state of mind when someone wakes me up 2 minutes before my alarm clock goes off.
Omfg yes I just seen this instructional vid with this guitarist and I was impressed and now I see this? Omfg yes.
This is the one band I will fucking fight for if some says they are bad
wow death metal with clean vocals! this is rare!
i wish it would go on forever. invigorating music
New Revocation sounds like Old Darkane! I still like it tho. If you have never heard of Darkane.. but you love this.. Def check out Darkane.
Beats and riffs like a hammer!
Recuerdo esta banda en el festival Manizales grita rock......el publico no supo apreciarlos en su totalidad, una lastima por que son demasiado buenos.
Come to Brasil, Bros!!
Best drum intro ever.
I really wish I could "like" this more than once.
I coughed right as the drummer started the song. I feel achieved.
Criminally underrated
