If the yellow dot passes the timing indicator twice, once on exhaust and once on compression, how did you know which stroke you were on when you got the dot to land on zero? Also thanks for these excellent videos!
If starting from scratch, remove plug one and plug hole with finger tightly while turning over - if its on the compression stroke it will blow air past your finger (both valves closed), if its on the exhaust stroke the exhaust valve is open and no air will push past.. not the rotor position, better to have it point at #1 on compression so the plug wires for 3 and 4 will reach :)
